CHAPTER 6: Surprise?
All was quiet for the next couple of months.
The Overseer's plan was in motion.
She kept Cerberus locked up and away from Fiona. Meaning Fiona and Sirius should have been able to cultivate feelings with one another.
However unfortunately for the Overseer, the world does not revolve around her.
The world's plot has a funny way of trying to mend itself if it deviates.
And so during another peaceful morning, there was a suspicious knock on the door.
Kevin allowed the visitors in, waking up the sleepy Amelia.
Amelia froze at her staircase, as she looks down at the visitors who were sitting on her dinning table.
Sirius, and Fiona.
Why are they here!?
Alarmed, she slowly approaches them, like a rabbit to a fox.
Sirius stands up in greetings when he spots her.
Her silver hair was messy, showing she had just gotten out of bed. Her silver eyes were wide, looking innocent, and finally her clothing was dishevelled. He smiles wryly. "Sorry for coming here with no prior warning and interrupting your day, miss Amelia."
Amelia felt her throat go dry.
She was still in disbelief.
However judging by his serious and respectful tone, they seem to have come here on business.
She just wanted to see what he wanted, and have him out of here as quickly as possible. Afterall, she still has Cerberus locked downstairs. "What is it? Why have you come?" Her words were direct, and straight to the point.
As expected of a woman with no social skills. Still, she was probably angry at having her peace destroyed by people. Everyone knew how much she loved solitude. Sirius clears his throat before beginning to speak. "There is a small problem I am facing and I require your assistance."
Amelia frowns. "If it's a small problem then you don't need my help. Please leave." She gestures for the door.
Kevin who was standing respectfully behind her, made an apologetic face.
Sirius didn't mind her words. "No, you're right. It's a serious problem. Which is why I require your assistance. The humans have always outnumbered us, and it wasn't a problem. However these days the humans seem to be causing more trouble. They are strategically attacking and killing towns in my territory, with poison, and other weapons of mass destruction. If we don't stop them, then we'll all be in trouble."
Mass destruction?
This never occurred in the original world's plot.
Why would the world suddenly do this???
Of course she understood it was in an effort to correct a wrong.
However it was such a drastic change.
Usually Cerberus would have run away with Fiona at this point.
Perhaps this is the way the world is pushing them together?
Or is this what happens if Cerberus isn't there anymore to rescue Fiona? Instead the vampire hunters will rescue her?
The Overseer didn't know.
However the Cerberus locked in her basement did.
He afterall knew and understood the human heart.
He would surely be laughing at her in glee, if he knew what was going on.
The Overseer decided to remain cautious. "What is it you expect me to do?"
Sirius grins, taking her words as agreeing to his aid. "We should get rid of them. Kill every hunter once and for all. This can't be allowed to continue."
Fiona who was seated besides him looking quiet suddenly speaks up. "Please.... no." Her voice was as quiet as a mouse. She looked exhausted, pale by his side. Like a skeleton with sunken eyes. She was also much thinner, her previous splendour gone.
What exactly happened in the past few months for her to become like that?
She was but an empty shell of her former self.
Sirius glares at her. "I told you not to speak if you're not spoken to, pet!"
The Overseer was surprised by his harsh tone.
What's going on?
Shouldn't they be deeply in love at this point?
This isn't the happy ending she wanted for the fl!!
Why isn't the girl smiling?
How can things become like this???
The Overseer couldn't help but get mad at Sirius. "Is that anyway to talk to her?" She reprimands him.
Sirius chuckles darkly at her. "Right I forgot. You're the vampire who loves humans! Always protecting them." Suddenly his eyes flash maliciously, like that of an apex predator. He places his arm around Fiona's shoulders in a warm embrace. "But don't overstep your boundaries. This human is mine. I own her. Therefore you have no say on how I treat her."
The Overseer soon realised the problem.
He hadn't grown like he would've in the world's plot.
In the original world's plot, this man slowly learns of his true feelings for Fiona. Evolving into treating her properly.
However it seems that by taking out Cerberus, she somehow ruined the ml as well.
The Overseer was confused.
She didn't understand how this could happen?
And so she harshly rebukes him. "You are currently on my territory. Treat her with respect, accordingly to my rules." Her aura leaked for but a moment, however it was filled with bloodlust and gloom.
The Overseer really wasn't very happy at this moment.
Sirius who didn't like being suppressed and ordered, immediately fired back. With a haughty smirk on his face he leans back. "Why, what can you do? Hurt me?" He laughs as he shows off his fangs
He inches closer to Fiona's neck causing her to whimper in fright. Upon closer inspection her fragile neck was covered in blue bruising.
This rubbish man!!
She should've chosen Cerberus over this filth!
Sirius seemed to become amused as Amelia's expression became frosty, slowly dropping in iciness as time went on.
Finally he bit into the woman's flesh, roughly sputtering blood down her shirt and onto the table.
She screams as she tries to fight back, however he was too strong. Using one hand he restrains her wrists, and with his free hand he supports her upper body. He drank her scarlet blood with relish, enjoying the look of disgust on Amelia's face.
Finally he pulls away, licking his thin bloodied lips with pride. Never breaking eye contact with Amelia throughout the process. "See, she's mine." His red eyes crease with smugness.
"Scum." Amelia's whispers with disdain.
She felt a strange sensation boil up within her.
She felt...
Like this was her fault.
However, it wasn't!
It's this damn world's fault!
Amelia's fists clench as she bangs the table. "Kevin, go look after Fiona. She'll die if she doesn't get any medical attention."
Kevin nods, however before he could take a step Sirius angrily retorts. "Who said I allowed you to touch my property!? Scram! If I want her to die, she'll die!"
Amelia stood up in outrage.
This man was insane!!
He wouldn't understand what he lost until it was too late. "Then you should scram! I'll only help you if you give me Fiona! Otherwise don't think about coming back!!"
Sirius suddenly lifts Fiona into a princess carry. His eyes full of hatred. "That's fine with me! I can handle everything on my own."
The Overseer could do nothing but watch him leave.
There was no point in taking Fiona back.
She couldn't be with Cerberus anymore.
Because Cerberus was not Cerberus, but instead a strange entity.
This is the fate Fiona has.
Another tragic ending....
