ARC 1-6: CEO, TAKE ME PLEASE!

CHAPTER 6: FAITH!!!!

In order to make Kris realise that who he's dating is a lost cause, and that Leona is better, Faith decides to chat Leona up.

Hopefully showing her usefulness will make Kris appreciate and love her.

As the group travels through the makeup isle Faith stops in front of some foundation. "Leona, what makeup do you wear when training? Won't it just sweat off?" Faith asks this question very innocently.

Leona was surprised however responds quickly feeling a little giddy, as the woman that has her respect was seeking her advice. "Well honestly it depends on the brand and its coverage." Leona begins to nitpick through some of the products, explaining what she always looks for.

Faith pretends to listen carefully as she glances over to a bored Kris. Even though he was bored, and was doing nothing but leaning against a shelf of products, his entire being still emitted a strong suave presence.

As expected of the ml.

Even while doing nothing He could still make heads turn!

Faith needed to involve Kris somehow. "Is that so." She says to Leona before turning to Kris. "I bet you wouldn't need to put this much thought into a gift for.... Mary back home as she doesn't really do anything cool like Leona, huh. Kris!"

Kris frowns as he was suddenly called out. He glances at the makeup and shrugs. "She does have great skill, in acting. However I guess her not doing anything else makes it much easier for me to choose a gift, because otherwise I'd be lost in this stuff."

Tsk!

As expected of the ml.

He can turn such a useless person into a positive thing!!!

Faith wasn't giving up just yet. "I find women who have a direction in life, with a healthy balance and independence quite admirable. Leona honestly seeing you standing next to Kris, you guys would make a perfect couple. Both of you aren't only good looking, but have brains and personality. You suit so well!!"

Leona was startled as she exchanged glances with Kris, who seemed to shiver in disgust at her statement.

Leona seemed uneasy. "Faith, you may not know this, but actually, me and Kris are engaged since we were children."

Faith pretends to act shocked. "Really!? Haha your parents must have great eyes!"

Kris interrupts the nonsense going on. "You be quiet. Our parents know nothing. I have already found someone else I love, and I am planning on rescinding the engagement. "

Leona seemed a little uncomfortable however she didn't have an opinion.

Faith wasn't happy. "Ah seriously Kris. You're so stupid!" Finally the Overseer seems to explode. "How can you give up on such a fine specimen and go for someone like Mary!?"

Leona was taken aback by Faith's outburst, and thought she was trying to defend her honour. Her heart felt warmed by this.

Kris on the other hand narrows his eyes at Faith finally realising what was wrong. "You.... You don't like me anymore, do you? No in fact... I feel like you are trying to play matchmaker!"

Leona hurries to step in. "Calm down Mr Reeds, Faith was merely trying to protect me." She turns to face Faith. "Actually Faith, I don't mind him dissolving the engagement. If he's found love then good for him. My marriage will be more politically based anyways."

She seemed at peace with this decision. Afterall, she's always been an intelligent person.

Faith felt like she's swallowed a lemon.

W-why is this not working!?

Faith glares into Kris' blue eyes looking furious. "I just don't get it!! What does Mary have that Leona doesn't!? Why do you love garbage so much!!?"

"Faith!" Kris growls in warning. "Watch your tone. I may be here to look after you, but that doesn't mean I'll let you say whatever you want." He stood straighter, appearing more threatening.

Leona tries to diffuse the situation. "Now Faith, I know you care for me, but love is-"

Faith doesn't allow Leona to finish her sentence. "Going by logic Kris, Leona is so much better than Mary. Her looks alone would make any man envy you. Her background outmatches Mary's in every way. She can support herself. She'll have your back not burden you. And she'll even help your business grow. Seriously how dumb must you be to not see the benefits!" She hisses.

Kris laughs darkly. "Of course I see the benefits, but I'll never marry her nor love her. Because love is happiness. And I'm most happiest with Mary. Leona is great, but in my heart it's Mary."

Faith looked gobsmacked.

It's like she couldn't fathom not choosing the best option to love.

Leona sighs. "Okay enough." She links her arm with Faith. "Let's keep shopping Faith and not talk about other people's business. This is between me and him, okay?" Leona tries to drag Faith over to another rack of makeup.

Faith remained unresponsive and blank the whole day.

Kris was irritated as well, however when they finally reach the hotel rooms that night, both seemed to relax instantly.

Today was the last day they would stay in this country.

Tomorrow it was time to fly out, which means Kris no longer had to be a baby sitter.

And Faith...

Well Faith hadn't given up just yet.

The plane ride was quiet and awkward.

That was until Faith decided to open her mouth and say something. "So you chose Mary because.... You love her?" Faith seemed to make a sour face at her own question.

Kris who was taken aback by the conversation they are about to have, sighs. "Yes. I love her, with all her imperfections and faults."

Faith nods. She suddenly turns to face Kris with a serious look on her face. "Tell me, why do you like her?"

"Why do I like her?" He mutters, his eyes fluttering as if in a daze. Then suddenly the most purest, and loveable smile in the world, instantly spreads over his lips. "Because how can I not? She's so different form everyone else. Gentle, sweet, innocent, naive. I need to protect her, and watch her try to reach her goal. Her face when she's working is cute and loveable. The way she treats everyone with sincerity. Her faults.... I am powerful enough to cover for her. So I don't mind stepping in when I need to. I just.... She makes me happy." He rests his chin on his palm as he reminisces. He seemed to glow just by talking about her.

Faith was a little annoyed however shrugs this off.

It was just as she had thought.

He likes her because he hasn't met anyone kinder, sweeter, or better.

Leona is a strong woman...

Perhaps he was intimidated by her?

No matter, Faith can still find a replacement for Mary.

It's not too difficult for such a useless person to be switched out.

Soon enough the plane lands, however a mysterious and ominous smile spreads across Faith's lips.

Kris shivers.

She... what is she up to?

Faith happily climbs out of the plane as she is guided to the car with Kris. "So you like Mary because of her unique qualities. Her innocence draws you in and captivated you. Her naivety and stubbornness also makes you feel the need to protect and cherish her, right?"

Although the tone she had used was strange, Kris thought that he was finally getting through to Faith. Therefore he agreed. "I guess you can say that."

Faith nods. "I see."

The car starts to move, taking them towards Faith's home first.

Faith suddenly speaks up. "Hey, can we go someplace else first instead? I have a surprise for you Kris!" She smiles, showing off the sly glint in her crescent eyes.

Kris really did feel a sense of dread, however he refused to acknowledge such an emotion was triggered because of Faith.

And so he agrees to follow Faith to wherever it was she wanted to go first, before going home.

The car soon slows down in front of a run down motel.

Just what is it Faith wants to do here?

With a giddy smile on her face, Faith hurries out of the car, gesturing for Kris to follow her.

She leads him into the crummy motel, and down the halls.

"Faith, what do you want to do here? Explore?" Kris was very confused.

Faith suddenly grins at him, placing a finger to her plump lips. "Ssh! Hear that!" Her eyes flash with anticipation.

Kris stops moving and tries to listen.

He suddenly hears moans of pleasure permeating through the walls. He raises a brow, still not understanding what it is they are doing here. "I won't allow you to peek on any of those people. I may not like you, however as Erik's sister, I do have to make sure you are not exposed to anything too unsanitary. Let's go. If you're still curious about this stuff, ask your brother." Kris reaches out to take her wrist, however Faith chuckles and dodges his hold.

With a cheeky grin on her face she begins to inch closer to the room with the unsavoury sounds. "I know. You love innocent and pure things." She suddenly twists the door knob, slowly parting it for him. "But I think even after this, you won't anymore."

Her cryptic words sent alarm bells off in his heart. With hurried steps he walks towards the room only to see red.

"FAITH!!!!!" His roars were enough to frighten even the birds outside, not to mention the people inside.

It seemed Kris was truly angered this time.
