New day and Friends

*beep**beep**beep*

My irritating alarm went off.

Groaning, I got off my bed and went to my bathroom to do my daily business. After taking a warm shower I came out and changed into my comfy hoodie, jeans and my converse.

I am Jennifer Ivy Cooper. I am 17 and I am currently in the West High. I have one step-brother and he is older than me and he is off training in the army. Toby and me, we have a pretty good relation to share. Then my younger brother who is 11 years old, his name is Max. Max is like my ray of sunshine. He lightens up my mood. He is really the best brother I could even ask for. I am in my senior year of high school.

I have a girl best friend named Dorothy (or Roth, that's what I call her) and there weren't any more until these two guys Josh and Andrew helped me last year from Helena Jenner when she had pushed me on the locker and all my books fell down. Now I can defend myself but I don't want any attention towards myself. It's just that I already have a lot on my plate and just getting the unwanted attention would mean more drama than there already is in my life.

I checked the time and it read 7:15 meaning I have about 15 minutes to go to my school. I rushed downstairs to help myself with my breakfast and see my step-father already cooking pancakes for me.

"Hey, Dad!"

"Hey Jen!"

"Where's my champ?" I was talking about Max, my brother.

"Sorry Jen, I forgot to mention he went to some camp early this morning so he would be returning tomorrow morning, now as this is your first day, you may want to hurry up a little bit in case you wish to get late on the first day of your school itself."

I quickly ate my pancakes and my dad and I sat in his car so he could drop me to my school and go to his work. My step-dad and I, we have a pretty good relationship no matter I am his step-daughter, he has always loved me like his own and no matter how much I tell him to let me take a bus, he always insists on dropping me to my school and I don't have a car because I didn't want one. I've had a pretty bad experience in the past with a car. So I avoid driving. It's still so much better now, because about a few years back, I was even scared to get inside the car because the memories would be triggered.

When we reached the school, I spotted three familiar faces that were smiling in my direction.

"Hello, Jen!" The guys greeted me and Roth came and hugged me.

"Hello!"

My friends, Josh is kind of flirty whereas Andrew is more of a nerd and as for Roth, well she has almost the same personality as mine. Josh slung an arm around my shoulder and we head off to our first class. I did get some dirty looks and glares from the fans of Josh and Andrew and why wouldn't they have that reaction when they see two hot guys escorting the two most unpopular girls.

While we were walking they were talking about some guy who would be joining tomorrow but I couldn't care less about that guy, not that I am not interested in guys but I feel like love isn't my cup of tea.

I went to my locker and kept all the other books but English and maths. My first class was English and it was my favourite subject. I am not a nerd but writing stories and essays just help me write my thoughts, I can express my feelings in a different way that's the magic of words. Writing just seems to be my escape. I don't really show my writing to anyone. It's just me writing my thoughts for myself only.

So, my first lecture went pretty good as we just needed to introduce ourselves and then Mr. Smith was just blabbering about what we were going to do this year which I was least interested in.

Then was mathematics and it is not the subject I hate but the teacher Mr. Brown, he was an old man and was short-tempered and so no fooling around in his classes, and this class was also the same as English. Then was lunch. My favourite, well who wouldn't love their food. I went and sat with my friends. Josh and Andrew had forced both me and Roth to join their table and their table consisted of us four and the two guys, they were discussing their girlfriends who are apparently on a vacation(who are sisters) and they will be returning tomorrow as well.

We just ate and chit-chatted about the first day of our senior year. Then was science, it was just the same as my English and then lastly it was time for the dance.

It's like dancing helps me calm down. After 1 and a half-hour of my class wherein I practiced my routine. I changed and left for my day after saying goodbye to my friends.

It's normally 15 minutes walking distance so I walk home, because dad is busy during the afternoons. After I reached home, I changed into some comfortable clothes which for me consists of a loose T-Shirt and sweatpants and I sat down reading my book The Fault in Our Stars. This book was gift to me by someone really important. This book has so many paragraph that just render my speechless. Especially the part where Hazel says "pain demands to be felt". It just hits the spot in my heart.

After reading for an hour or so, I kept the book down and started with the worst thing. Homework!

God help me with this...
