I barely got enough sleep last night due to the date thingy and nightmares but I'm fresh today. I get ready and when we head to school the first thing I do is to tell Roth everything and she is squealing and chanting "I told you so".

Roth had gone to the washroom and the guys were talking with our teacher while I was busy in my own world to notice the SHE-DEVIL.

She stood near the staircase and as I neared the staircase she glared at me. 

"Do you think you can steal him from me?" 

For crying out loud, I am not stealing him, can't she get it.

I try to ignore her but she shoves me a little. 

"Stay away from him, he's mine", she grits out. 

"I won't and he doesn't want a slut"

"Oh he also doesn't want an ugly orphan" she spits out as she shoves me a little hard and the clumsy person I am, I slipped from the stairs and rolled over as I fell to the ground.

Fucking bitch, I wished to shout but my mind blanks as it takes in the pain. Ughhhh, my back and ankle ache.

"Jennifer!", Ash shouts before I blacked out.

STEVEN'S P.O.V.

Asher and I were busy talking to the professor and the other two had already left, by the way, Jen was blushing, I knew for the fact that she had told Roth.

As we exited the classroom, we saw Helena talking to Jen and by the way, she was glaring at her, I knew that they were arguing.

Just as we were nearing them, she shoved Jen and she tumbled over the stairs and fell down.

"Jennifer!", Asher shouted but I was too busy glaring at Helena. Just as I was advancing towards her, that bitch gets punched in the face.

"You don't get to mess with my best friend and leave without greeting me", Roth said before punching her in the gut too.

"She's... she's unconscious", Asher speaks. I rushed towards her and picked her up and immediately took her to the nurse.

Jen's P.O.V.

Ughhhh, the pounding in my head won't stop. As I gained my conscious, I tried to sit up but something or rather someone stopped me from moving.

I looked and found Max was cuddled up next to me and was hugging me as his life depended on me.

"Maxi", I said groggily, water! I need water.

"Max, love, get up, I need water", he got up, rubbing his eyes and handed me water. 

"You're awake, I miss you so much", he said as he hugged me and started sobbing. Awwwww, my baby.

As my bedroom door opened, I found dad and Roth standing there. Roth immediately rushed towards me and hugged me.

"How dare you do that to me? You know I scared I was?", She screamed at me before hugging me tightly.

"Kids, I need to talk with her, so if y'all would please go down and keep the other two company", dad said and by the look on his face I knew something was wrong.

Dad sat near my bed and he sighed.

"Look, honey, I'll begin from the start, first, you have sprained your ankle hence you will need a day rest and luckily tomorrow is Saturday, your back is a little swollen and, I kind off called Anna"my therapist "she informed me about you not being able to sleep properly maybe due to the nightmares, so she has given me pills for you", my nightmares, they're the only things I don't wanna talk about at least with him.

"You've been having nightmares haven't you?" He questioned and I just look down. He reaches for my hand and gives it a little tap and I look up.

"I know you're not comfortable, but you know I do hear you, at nights when you're screaming, panting or even crying, I do hear you and it shatters me but you know I am giving you space, just don't hide things, it is affecting your health", I just nod as he says so.

"Oh and a little birdy told me about your date today," he says with a smile causing me to blush.

"Since you won't be able to go out, he suggested something and we'll do that and so you both have your space, Roth and Asher would be going for ice-cream and I smell something fishy there too or something and Max and I will have another night to ourselves"

I reach over and hug him and sigh in relief.

"Thank you, thank you for everything you've done for me and for everything you are doing, I love you so so so much dad"

"I love you too hun" and with that, he gets up and I look up at my clock and see it's 6:30.

Just as he leaves, with a knock enters Steven and that causes me to groan.

"Wow, sweetheart glad to know I am welcomed here"

As he settles down and stares at my ankle and then my pills.

"Sleeping pills?" And that makes me uncomfortable and as if sensing my discomfort, he clears his throat and says, "umm, just so you know that makes the two of us, I need them too, sometimes"
