Jealousy and Misunderstanding

"Huh?" is all I managed to say because the question was too vague.

"Who were you talking to?"

"Ummm... Well, you see it was Toby", he scoffed before walking over to me.

"Who is this Toby guy because by the way you were talking to him it looked like you were talking to your boyfriend", he said.

Wait... Is he jealous?

"Chang, do I sense jealousy?"

"No, it's just me trying to make sure you aren't playing with my feelings because if that's the case I'd rather be with Helena because at least she'll be faithful to me"

Wow! That just escalated quickly and did he compare me to that slut

"Well then go, walker over to that bitch and embrace her because, I'm sorry if you misunderstood things but I am in no way like that bitch, oh and guess what she'll probably be willing to accept you with open arms. Now shoo and go over to that bitch why don't you?"

His face was red and he gave me one last look before storming out of the studio. With every step he took, I think my heart broke. But why did it break when we weren't even in a relationship. God! I sound so over now.

Misunderstandings. The only things that have the power to ruin relationships. It was sad because whatever we had, was destroyed by that silly misunderstanding. But this wasn't my fault. He didn't listen to me. Misunderstandings can only be solved by listening to both sides of the story. He never listened to mine.

Maxy was jumping here and there when I reached home. Steven has been ignoring me since that day in the studio and Roth has been pestering me to tell her what my problem was when everything was going well.

"When will Steven come back?" This question only added fuel to my mood. I gave him a tight smile.

"I don't know"

"Can I call him?" Urggggghhh, why do you hate me so much, Maxy? I tossed him my phone before heading straight to my room to busy myself.

Steven's P.O.V.

Left. Right.

Left. Right.

I kept on punching the bag to distract myself from the fight. It has been going on in my head since the time I stepped out of the studio.

How could she do that? The way she said those three words. Urgh!

The ringing of my phone stopped me and I reached over to see it was her. The hell does she want now.

I answered the call.

"What is it that you want Je-"

"Hi, it's me", Maxy told over the phone. I sighed in relief.

"Hey, champ, what's up?"

"Well, I asked my sis but she won't answer me and gave her phone so I could talk to you"

"Oh, what was it that you wanted to ask me then?"

"When are you coming over, I miss having you around?" I chuckled at his question. Yeh, I miss him too because it was a long time ago I met him.

"Well... I'll come soon" I don't think so I can go over anytime soon because of the fight.

"Can you come over today? Pretty please?"

"Umm... I do-"

"Please, just come over today, even daddy was missing you", I sighed and finally gave in and told him that I'll be over in an hour.

It was around 6 that I went over to her house and as I rang the bell, she opened the door.

"Maxy, your guest is here"

Max immediately ran over to me and tackled me into a hug and I let myself in. We went over to where both Jen and her father were cooking.

"Oh! Steven, it's you", her father told as he gave me a side hug before resuming to cooking.

By the smell of the food, it looked as if they were cooking lasagna.

"By the time they are cooking why don't you play around with me, please?"

It was around 8 when her father called us for dinner and even though I said no, he practically forced me to eat with them so here I was sitting opposite Jen as we ate dinner. It was awkward, added to that there were Roth and Asher. What the hell was he doing?

"So Steven, how are your studies going?"

"Well, they're going well" and we all went to conversing with each other. Well, I had to talk to Maxy and her father.

"He had called, I forgot to tell you about it", Jen says out if the blue.

"Omg! What did he say? Is he coming soon?" Roth asked excitedly. Oh, so she also knows about him.

"He said he will try to come soon and he sends his love for both of you", she continues. Oh! She has to talk about that Toby guy. The one who was in military training.

"Oh! I thought he had forgotten about us", her dad chuckles.

"Exactly what I told him but then he went on saying how he couldn't forget his father, his brother and his favorite sister" she stressed in the last word as she looked at me.

I choked on nothing but my spit as I heard it and started coughing furiously. Her brother.

"Woah Woah Woah, slow down Steven, I don't want my best friend to die of a silly reason", Asher said.

"Your brother?", I probably sound dumb but then again what can I do.

"Yeah," she hissed, "my brother, Toby," she said while glaring before taking her plate to the sink and leaving for her room.

Her father let out a frustrated sigh while muttering about her mood swings under his breath.

After we all are and as I promised Max that I'll be back soon Asher and I left.

Her brother. That's who she was talking to. And I misunderstood everything. How could I be so dumb?

I let out a groan in frustration before slumping down in the bed and letting sleep take over.
