After we ate, we all were heading towards the car when we heard a voice which sent chills down my spine.
"Oh, if it isn't my favorite Jennifer Cooper and my dearest Dorothy"
Roth looked up at me and I could see that she was already panicking as the tears started to dwell in her eyes. We all turned behind and there stood the man, the man that had taken Brielle away from me, the man that had ruined Roth's life.
He stood there with an evil smile on his face and as he smiled, he showed his murky crooked teeth. Both Asher and Steven have seemed to tense up beside us and as he started walking towards us, my heart had seemed to stop.
He can't do anything, he won't do anything, I kept on chanting to myself.
"It's good to see my lovely daughter all grown up", he told Roth even though he couldn't directly converse with her because Asher was in the way protecting her from his evilness.
"You have no daughter here, go away, you are no father of mine"
"Now, honey, tell your boyfriend to move away and let's talk nicely", she already seemed to have a panic attack as I could see her breathing start to shorten.
"Go away douchebag, do not even think of talking to her", I stood up to him, maybe years later but I am not allowing him to ruin our life again.
"Oh, you learned how to speak, you never spoke that day, you seemed to have frozen that day", he says with a smirk.
Steven stepped up and told him to back off otherwise he would call 911 and that seemed to have alerted him as his eyes grew wide, he turned away but didn't leave before saying "We'll meeting again my girls"
I rushed over to her side and hugged her, she looked as if she would faint any time soon, she was crying and I felt a pang in my chest because I had always hated it whenever she cried, she was not the one to cry but the one who made others cry while laughing.
"Shhhhhh, he won't come back, he won't hurt you, you'll be safe, we'll be safe", I tried to convince her, but I tried to convince myself more so that I could stay strong for her.
As Asher took Roth in the car and sat down with her curled up to his side as she cried herself to sleep. The tears finally took it as an indication to fall down from my eyes.
"Who was he?", Steven asked in a soft tone.
"Devil" the word rolled off my tongue as if venom. I noticed he was trying to approach me, but I held my hand out for him.
"I'm sorry but I just need a minute alone please" and he went inside the car too.
As soon as he was inside, I broke into tears, it was horrible, they were back, they were back, they will ruin me, they will ruin her.
I feared a lot. My nightmares are back.
STEVEN'S P.O.V.
As Asher took Roth in the car and sat down with her curled up to his side as she cried herself to sleep. The tears finally started falling down from Jennifer's eyes. Roth seemed pretty shaken up.
"Who was he?", I asked in a careful yet soft tone.
"Devil" the word rolled off her tongue as if venom. I tried to approach her, in order to comfort her as the tears rolled down, but she held her hand out for me.
"I'm sorry but I just need a minute alone please" and I went inside the car too.
As I sat in the driver's seat, I looked as Jen started sobbing, I didn't like it one bit that she was crying and she wanted to act strong for Roth. Asher seemed to have calmed her down and now she was sleeping soundlessly.
I had hoped this day would be good, we'll have loads of fun, we actually did and I also loved watching her dance. She was just flawless.
She entered the car after a minute with bloodshot eyes, red cheeks, and a neutral face. You really do know how to cover up your emotions Jen.
It took us about ten minutes to reach Jen's place and as Roth was staying there too, we had directly taken the car to her house. It was around 7:30 when we came back and both of the girls seemed to have dozed off. Well, what a tiring day after all. Jen's father came out with Max on his back and looked at the sleepy heads in the car.
"Could y'all, you know, take them to their rooms, since I have this little monster on my back", we both nodded our heads and Asher went in first.
I was hesitant though but I hooked one of my arms around her knees and the other around her back and picked her up. As I climbed upstairs and into her room, I noted to myself, that I shouldn't look around, I was entering without her permission and without her knowledge, I should respect her privacy at least.
I laid her off in the bed, and covered her with a blanket, I heard a knock and Asher and Jen's father came in.
"I told him what happened", obviously, he has the rights to know about the encounter with the strange man.
As her dad rubbed his head, he mumbled something about a restraining order.
"Who is he?", Asher questions him.
"Roth's father, I know how Roth would have handled him but how did Jen handle him?"
I looked over her and said, "She seemed shaken too, I mean, her father did look scary but why did Jen look so scared of him?" I questioned too.
"It's a story I'd rather not tell you because I am not the right person", her father replied and with that, we bid our goodbye and we left her house.
