-flashback-
"You have to take it easy, Ms Scott," the doctor said, handing her a packet of pills along with a bottle of purified water. "These are complimentary. Take these now and then everyday for fourteen consecutive days and call me if you need anything, seriously. I don't want anything bad to happen to you or-"
"Thank you, doctor," Jane interrupted her as she gathered her stuff to leave. She didn't want to wait to hear what she has been trying to understand and accept for the most part of this past couple of months. She could have lost her baby due to too much stress. She'd never forgive herself if that ever happened.
The doctor just nodded and opened her office door for her. She wished the doctor a nice day and walked out of there as soon as she could. There was an eerie feeling she got whenever she came close to hospitals. Let alone be in one.
As she walked out, she didn't see the body lurking around waiting to make an entrance once she had left. Jane got in her car and drove off safely as somebody else entered the hospital.
"Hi, how can I help you?" The receptionist asked cheerfully. There were a batch of patient's files on the counter.
"Hi. I'm looking for my husband, Phil. He came in here and hasn't been out so I got worried. Can you have a look at the back? I just wish to know what's taking him so long," she said convincingly. She quickly glancing around and her face showed her discomfort at the little kids running and playing around as mothers sat and read magazines.
"May I know which doctor he went to?" The receptionist asked as she typed on her computer.
"I believe it was the radiologist," she said easily. She was familiar with the departments the hospital had.
"Ah, yes, Doctor Matt is currently having a patient. I'll go have a look," the receptionist said. As soon as she was out of sight, Nadia quickly flipped through the files, reading the names on top. She sighed out of frustration when it wasn't there. She stood back and gave a fake smile when the receptionist returned.
"I'm sorry, your husband is not with Doctor Matt right now."
"That's okay. Is there anyone I can see that could have his file and know where he is?" she asked slyly.
Nurse Sullern is that way. She usually has all the files after an appointment. You can quickly see her to ask what time your husband was seen by a doctor."
"Thank you so much."
She passed a couple of doors with labels on them and reached the one labeled 'Nurse Sullern'. She opened the door and peeked her head insidebut noticed that it was empty. Looking around her surroundings, she quickly slipped in and started searching through the files. She found it and opened to today's date, her eyebrows furrowing when she read the name of the doctor that assisted her.
Dr Lee Ob/Gyn.
~mild dizziness
~all vaccinations up to date
~120/70 blood pressure
~next pregnancy screening on the 27th for six week checkup
She froze when she read the last statement and felt her world come apart. "No, no, no," she kept muttering to herself as she reread the page as though it'd disappear. She brought the book closer to her face and looked at the page across that and took notice that the date was about a month ago.
~two weeks pregnant
"No!" She yelled, slamming the file against the wall and storming out of the room. She didn't see her surroundings as she marched out the hospital and to her car, all the while muttering profanities.
"Why her? Why not me?!" She yelled, hitting the steering wheel as more tears fell down her face. She already knew she couldn't get Nate but with Jane's pregnancy, her life was over. He was most definitely going back to get her and she knew she didn't even stand a snowball's chance in hell.

"She has no shame, stealing my man and getting herself pregnant by him!" Nadia yelled as she threw the stapler at the glass wall in front of her and left a small crack.
Her confidanté and counselor, Cara, just smiled slightly and watched as she continued to rant about Jane's pregnancy.
"Nadia, stop. Breathe okay," she was told but all she could do is fume. She couldn't begin to imagine how badly this would affect her future.
"Do you have any idea what she's done? I was this close to having him back!" She motioned with her thumb and index finger a few millimetres apart.
"Oh, please, you've been trying for months now. It's not difficult to see that he's just not interested in you. You just want what he can do to your image," Cara said straightforwardly.
"Will you shut up?!" Nadia yelled and didn't see the hand that flew out and slammed against her cheek. She just felt the impact of the hit after a few seconds.
"You're lucky I'm your friend before I'm your psychologist. And from one friend to another, you have attachment issues that will turn ugly if you don't accept things the way they are. Now as your psychologist, it's my job to help you get well."
"I couldn't care less what you think!" Nadia lashed out. "You can all die and rot in hell for all I care! I am getting him back, Cara. And I swear to god if anyone tries to take him away from me again I will kill them."
"You think threatening me will make what happened not happen?" Cara asked calmly, writing down in her notebook. When Nadia didn't answer, she looked up saw that her back was facing her.
She used that opportunity to click the recorder because she had a terrible feeling about what was coming from her. After it was running for a few seconds, Cara prompted an answer from her again, "What is it that you're after? His money? His fame?"
"No, I liked him way before I ever knew that. Although I can't say the same for her," Nadia said, her hatred for Jane growing more each second. She slumped on the couch and laid down comfortably.
"You think he'll ever be happy with you? Do you think he'll leave Jane for you?" Cara continued to ask a raging Nadia. She was well aware of her patient by now and one thing she concluded was; Nadia cannot be predicted and she's highly dangerous. She's like a volcano waiting for people to settle around her before she violently erupts and kills everyone around her.
"I know he still cares about me. He's just confused right now about who he wants."
"And I take it you'll make him see that what he wants is, you?"
"I want what's best for him," Nadia said, stalking towards Cara with rage in her eyes. "Jane has fooled him into thinking that she loves him. I bet she'll use the pregnancy to trap him."
Cara remained quiet and allowed Nadia to express herself. Nadia needed to get everything off from her chest and right now seemed like no better time for that.
"I swear I want to kill her and that baby," Nadia said with her eyes closed, her head leaned against the couch. "I want to watch her beg for her life while she is covered with her baby's blood. I can hardly wait for that time to come and when it does, I'll push both him and Jane down a bridge so they fall to their deaths," she sighed dreamily, her eyes still closed.
Cara swallowed the lump in her throat and the shivers ran down her spine. It wasn't in her place to share her patients motives or anything remotely dangerous to third parties because that's considered breech of privacy and she could be prosecuted for that. But she is not one to save her job in exchange for innocent people dying.
With the recorder still running, Cara asked, "Nadia, are you threatening to kill Jane?"
"No, honey," Nadia maniacally chuckled. Cara released a breath that was caught in her throat. Good, she thought. She watched Nadia get up and wear her coat on before grabbing her handbag. She stood by the door and turned just enough to see Cara from the corner of her eye.
"I don't make threats. I make promises," she said, "and if I were you, I'd keep this session strictly confidential, Cara Boston." With that, she turned around and slammed the door behind her.
Sometimes, she had to bend a few rules when it came to Nadia. She wasn't in the habit of recording her sessions, but medically, Nadia was unstable. Mentally deranged. And Cara knew she had to save their sessions just in case Nadia acted on her... Promises.
