The plane had landed after nine hours and all she could think about was putting her feet up and giving it- him or her some nutrition. She just started loving the little seed growing in her body. She didn't want to attach a gender to it just yet.

She noticed that Nate was already awake and was talking to a few of the intern sitting in front of and behind them. She glanced at a few that were seated beside her and nodded politely before looking away. She didn't want to engage in conversation as of yet. She wasn't even fully awake yet.

"They are pretty excited about this, it's radiating on their faces," he beamed when he turned back in his seat at the same time that the plane when the flight attendant announced everyone to buckle up since they were now descending.

She felt her throat clog up and felt the bile rise from her chest to her throat. Quickly reaching for a paper bag, she brought it to her nose and started inhaling and exhaling as fast as she could to keep everything back to her stomach.

"You alright?" He asked, feeling her forehead. He noticed that she got warmer than her usual and that the blood drained from her face. "You're a little pale. Do you need some pills?" He was already checking through his carry bag for some headache pills but she stopped him.

"Planes," she simply excused when she felt a little better. She popped a mint gum in her mouth and focused on chewing.

"But you like planes," he frowned.

"Things changed."

"Since when?"

"Since we broke up," she said sharply but regretted it as soon as she saw the look of hurt on his face. "Sorry, I mean-"

"I get it," he said dismissively, unlocking his phone to busy himself with something.

She just turned the other way and waited for the flight attendants to give them permission to start filing out. Soon after that they were collecting their luggage and they all came to stand with Nate.

"So now that we're here, who's responsible for us?" One of the interns asked. They were six interns in total.

"I am," Nate and Jane both replied at the same time, their eyes locking for a second too long that the interns seemed to pick up on the unspoken tension.

"I think it's really cool that we have two guardians," a guy said, which earned a smile from Nate and a shrug from Jane.

"Okay guys, let's get ourselves to the hotels. We'll check in, sleep or whatever it is you young kids do before grabbing dinner at 7p.m. and call it a day. We wake up bright and early tomorrow so don't overdo yourselves. I'm not accepting any tardiness. Am I clear?" Jane asked.

"I actually prepared a schedule," Nate spoke, reaching into his backpack to pull out a flip file and started passing them around.

"Oh cool! We have swimming at seven in the morning," one boy exclaimed.

"And a shopping trip at nine in the evening!" another girl beamed.

"How come we only get to work from nine to twelve then three to six again?" Jane hissed at Nate as she studied the schedule. He was about to reply but their transport arrived so he settled with just shrugging as they approach the vehicle.

"I think there's a misunderstanding here. I specifically ordered six bedrooms so that two interns could share one and my colleague and I sleep in the other two, seperately," Jane complained at the receptionist who shrunk back in fear.

"Excuse her manners, she's had too much liquor on our way here," Nate lied as he dragged her away back to their shared room by her arm.

She snatched her arm back when they reached their room. "I refuse to share a room with you."

"Then you can move out."

"What the hell do you mean?"

"I mean that I'm not moving out so if you're unhappy then please leave. Nobody is stopping you," he said as he continued unpacking his clothes into the closet.

It wasn't his plan or his doing to have them sharing a room but he'd be damned if he said he wasn't a little bit glad about that. But the way she's going on about the situation is slowly irritating him and much to his displeasure, he's already trying to sort out his other work.

"Nathaniel Surogiv, you are not sleeping in the same room as me. Either you move out or I do."

"And where does your highness suggest I sleep?" he asked sarcastically.

"You can sleep under the bridge for all I care."

"Well aren't you a jolly air," he sussed.

"Don't you dare pick on me, you're the one that needs a room!"

"Dammit Jane! Please for once can you not pick an unnecessary fight with me?" he begged, dropping his shoulders and facing the other way as the side of his head started pounding.

"I'll try and arrange another bedroom. Maybe they'll have an open one later," he said as he shoved his clothes back in his suitcase.

"Nate, I'm sorry-" she wanted to say but he cut her short.

"I'll see you at dinner," he said and closed the door behind him, leaving Jane with a sinking feeling. She honestly does not want to share a room with him in case he found out about her pregnancy. She wanted to be the one to tell him. She just wasn't sure when or how.

In the evening, she slept in and missed out on dinner. She texted the interns and told them to just go on without her. She was also feeling nauseous and didn't want to be a bother at dinner. She was sitting on the bed going through some papers when she heard a soft knock on the door. She got up and opened the door, expecting it to be the room service she'd ordered.

"The good news is that I got us pizza," he said when she opened the door. She couldn't help sigh in delight at the meaty smell and also because she was sure he wouldn't return.

"The bad news is that the hotel is fully stocked. Apparently summer is an extremely busy time of the year. Sorry about that," he said softly. She just smiled and opened the door wider, letting him step in. He placed one box on her pedestal and sat with the other one on his bed across hers. She jumped on her bed and opened the box, shoving one slice in her mouth and moaning delightedly.

"Why aren't you at dinner with the rest?"

"I was, and then Jess said you weren't feeling well so I came to keep you company," he said as he started removing his shoes.

"I don't blame them, you're kinda old to hang around with," she teased and chuckled when he rolled his eyes dramatically.

"I'll go take a quick shower. Don't miss me too much," he said with a wink. His head peeped from the en-suite a few seconds later. "And don't steal my pizza."

She laughed out loud because it was just what she was thinking of doing. With a small smile on her face, she sat back with her dinner and continued her work on her laptop. Once he was done and came out, he raised his eyebrow at her and she saw a hint of a smile on his face.

"Aren't you gonna look away?"

"Not like it's something I haven't seen before," she said, rolling her eyes.

"Well in that case," he replied, letting the towel from around his waist to drop to the ground and almost immediately she covered her eyes with her hands.

"Oh, no! My virgin eyes!" She exaggerated, causing them both to laugh heartily. Once he was done dressing in his pyjamas he also sat on his bed and stared working on his laptop as he ate.
