Chapter 6: Dirigeants

“H-hiro…” One of the girls said. She’s scared of Hiro but she was so ready to kick my butt earlier? Wow.

“Where is she?” Hiro asked. Is he perhaps referring to me? No one answered Hiro. He glared at the people there. “Where’s Bella?!” He yelled. Now he’s pissed off.

“We don’t know. That girl hasn’t shown up… yet.” One of the guys said and smirked at Hiro. Is he asking for trouble? Is he not afraid of that guy?

“Is anyone here that K who killed Yna?” One of Hiro’s friends said. Are they assuming that one of them killed Yna? That’s possible too because some people have their own guns, which are illegal to be brought in this school.

“We don’t know what you’re talking about.” The girl said. She looked so relaxed even though their situation is really complicated. How can she stay that calm?

“What do you think of us? We aren't stupid to know that you're the one who called her to come here." One of them said. "If I were you, I will already tell where Bella is before everything is messed up.” He added.

“She’s not here! If she is here, why would we even tell you about it? We won’t get anything from you but we will have a huge price in exchange of that girl.” The girl that looked familiar to me said. They will be paid when they bring me to that k?

“Someone just commanded you to do this?!” Hiro asked. He’s really mad now. They’re already stressed about Yna’s case then this happened on the same day. That could be so frustrating to them.

"That's none of your business." The girl said. The one who looked so calm.

I am also getting bored by watching them. I decided to get off the tree and removed my mask. I went to the entrance of the gym and smiled at all of them. Hiro and his friends were surprised to see me alive and not captured by this stupid people.

“Do you all know how stupid all of you are? I’ve been watching all of you the whole time and I’m really getting bored about it.” I said. Although I am scared of guns, I won’t let them see it. I am trembling a bit because I can already see it.

“Now, who trespassed in our dorm and ransacked my room?” I asked and glared at every single one of them. “I didn’t come here for K. I came here to know who’s responsible for that.” I clearly said. One of them laughed, and it was the girl who looked so familiar to me.

“That was me. Are you mad now, Bella? I also sent you the codes.” She said and giggled a little. I hear Hiro’s step so I stopped him using my hand.

“And you’re proud of it? I am guessing that you’re also the person who sent me a code in the classroom?” I asked. She’s doing this for Hiro and not for the money. Her goal is way different from the other people here/

“You can say that. I am your classmate after all.” She said and smiled. That explains how they know what dorm number we’re in.

“Do you even realize how pathetic you are? You did all of that because I was getting in Hiro’s attention? For a guy who doesn’t even know that you exist in this school?!” I said to her. Her facial expression changed in an instant. She looks like she’s not the girl that was here earlier.

"Shut up!" She said and she lifted her baseball bat to smack it on me. I avoided immediately avoided it since she moves really slow. She slammed on the floor because I stepped sideward. Hiro’s friends went to her and harshly pulled her up from the ground.

“You know, I really hate people like you. You’re so mad that Hiro notices me? Then stand in his way too! It’s frustrating and annoying to see all of you talk about me because I did something all of you cannot do!” I said and pulled her hair. She immediately winced in pain.

“Let me go!” She said.

“And if you’re the one who made the code for that stupid k, then one of you might be the killer of Yna! You are all cruel and stupid to kill a child like her!” I said and pulled her hair more. I am beyond mad because she had the guts to be proud of what she had done.

"Killing is against our rules! You are all aware of it!" Hiro yelled and signaled for her gang to attacked them.

I was startled because they started using their baseball bats. A moment later I heard a gunshot. I felt my knees getting weaker by the minute.

I am afraid of a gun, a gunshot, and a person who died from a gun.

There was multiple gunshot released that made me panic. “Get me out of here!” I yelled. But no one was listening because everyone was busy fighting with each other.

"STOP THIS INSTANCE!"

Everything went in slow motion. I feel like my world was being spinned around. I dropped on my knees and the last thing I saw was a man running towards me.

"Kristoff."

When I opened my eyes, a familiar face appeared in front of me. What is he doing here and where am I? All I remember was being at the gym… I heard gunshots… and... and…

“Bella?” He said and held my shoulders. “Bella are you okay?” He spoke again.

“Huh?” I said and turned to him. “Where am I, Haze?” I asked. Haze is my brother’s friend. He is also close to me since he is always with my brother during high school. They would always hang out at our house.

“You’re at your school’s hospital. How are you feeling?” He asked me and helped me get up from bed. I just nodded at him as a response. I feel like I’ve been sleeping for a days now.

“Why are you here? Where’s my brother?” I asked. He sent his friend here instead of being here himself?!

“He is kind of busy with his meetings. We received a call from your school leaders and told us that you collapsed.” He explained. I’m still a bit confused on why my brother is busy. He is never busy. That’s new. “You should have been more careful! Why would you even go there yourself when there are people here to protect you?” He said.

“Just go if you came here to lecture on me.” I said and rolled my eyes at him. He just giggled and smiled at me. He gave me an apple that was right beside the bed.

“On a serious note, you should be extra careful from now on. Your brother is worried sick.” He said. I snorted because of what he said.

“Worried sick? He didn’t even drop his meetings to go to me.” I said and took a bite of the apple.

“He’s just really busy. Try to understand your brother. It’s a good thing that he is starting to get busy right? The busier he is, the more he won’t bother you.” He said.

I nodded at him in agreement. “Give him more schedules, then.” I told him since he is my brothers secretary too.

“I won’t do that. He already has enough at his plate.” He said and laughed. I smiled a bit because of that. Haze is really comfortable to talk to since we’ve known each other for years now. He and my brother were the only people that were there when I was in my darkest times.

“How’s your school life here? It has only been three days since you went here and you’re already collapsing. Are you weak?” He mocked me and I can’t even say a word because he is right about that and I don’t even know why I feel so worn out.

“I’m okay, I guess? This school is a bit creepy and mysterious but I can handle it.” I said. “I even helped with a case already.” I added. His brows furrowed when I said that. He just sighed and shook his head.

“Your brother is already worried about your safety here, then you’re here involving yourself with case already.” He said and sighed. “Don’t be too involved. You don’t know how hard your brother is trying to get you out of here.”

I just nodded at him. He still hasn’t given up on that issue? Mom would never transfer me anymore and he knows that! Yet he’s still trying his best to change her mind? He’s just wasting his time.

We didn’t talk anymore because I was already lost in my thoughts.

I snapped back in reality when the door opened and Hiro, Geoffrey, Kylie and Victoria along with some of the Dirigeants went inside my room.

I smiled at Kylie and Victoria. They went closer to me and asked if I was okay. I just nodded to make them feel less worried about me.

“We went here straight from class. You’ve been asleep for a whole day; we were so worried about you.” Kylie said. I smiled at her. “Don’t you smile at me! You fainted in the middle of a gang fight! Gosh, Bella! You should have just stayed inside yesterday!” She lectured. I guess the two of them were really worried about me. It feels weird to have other people worry about me.

“I’m sorry for making you worry. I swear, I am fine.” I honestly said then I turned to Hiro. “How about those people yesterday?” I asked. I mean I need to know what happened to them! They need to go in jail or the correctional for what they did. Some of them are still minors, if I am correct.

“In jail.” He answered shortly. “Why did you suddenly collapse yesterday? You were doing great but you suddenly fainted.” He asked. I sighed; I knew he would ask about it.

“Because of the guns.” I said.

“Huh? But you were watching us the whole time.” He said. I rolled my eyes at him.

“I was far from it. Besides, I don’t get scared just because I saw a gun. It takes a gunshot or two before I start to panic.” I said. He just nodded at me. I turned to the Dirigeants that were standing at the corner of the room while talking to Haze.

“What are they doing here?” I asked Hiro and Geoffrey.

“Apparently, you were drugged.” He said. My eyes bawled at what he has said. I am what? They what?!

“Drugged me?!” I yelled. It was enough for the Dirigeants to turn their heads at me. They walked towards me.

“Yes, you were. But don’t worry, the contents weren’t harmful. It was just sleeping pills.” Miss Sasha said. “It was injected in your drinks.” She added.

I kept my silent and thought about the drinks that I bought yesterday. If I remember correctly, I only bought one yakult at the dorms cafeteria to ease the pain that I was feeling. Was it because of that? That’s the only thing that I drank yesterday, and of course, the water in my water bottle.

“I’ll be careful of what I drink next time.” I told her. She nodded and went back to talking to Haze. I, on the other hand, turned to Kylie and Victoria.

“Hey, can we put another lock outside and inside of our door and our rooms too, if that’s possible.” I said. The two looked so confused of why I want to put another lock in our dorm.

“Wait, why? This is so out of the blue.” Victoria said. I just sighed at her. Should I even tell the both of them? What if they get scared?

“Uh, it’s because someone went inside out dorm?” I carefully said. The both of then were shocked.

“Oh my gosh! That’s what I heard when I came back for a bit yesterday?” Kylie said. That’s true. We were almost at our classroom yesterday and she forgot to bring her book for a subject that will ne tackled that day so she came back our dorms. It was weird because she said that she heard noises inside my bedroom but I told her that she might have heard it from the hallway and mistaken it.

“Wow, I am creeped out.” Victoria said and held Kylie. “I’ll request for another lock later, don’t worry about it and rest. You still need it.” She added. Kylie agreed with her.

“Yes, and the doctor said you can go now if you want to. But you can also stay if you still want to rest here.” Kylie said. I want to get out of here as soon as I can but I feel like my body has been aching for days. It’s so heavy.

Hiro and Geoffrey excused themselves and left the room. Kylie and Victoria along with the other Dirigeants were the only ones left here. The two were now sitting at the sofa and eating snacks. I, on the other hand, laid in my bed to rest my body that keeps on aching everytime I move.

“Bella, they like to check you room.” Haze said when they finished talking. I confusingly looked at them. I already did that and the only weird thing I found was the paper they left me.

“Uh, sure? I already did that though; I doubt you’ll find another one.” I said. They nodded. “Can I come?” I asked. I want to see how they’ll check my room. I mean, I didn’t miss anything when I was placing my things back. I wonder why they want to check it again?

“If you want to. But I was advised to send you home tonight so you can rest properly, you can comeback tomorrow morning for your classes.” Jaira said. I sighed. It was like telling me to have a round trip. No thank you.

“No thanks, our house is far from here. I don’t want to do a round trip.” I said and they nodded. Haze helped me again to stand up from the bed. Kylie and Victoria helped me walk to the bathroom so I can change my clothes. My body was aching all over so it was quite hard to walk that’s why they’re helping me.

When I got out of the bathroom, Haze went to me. “Why are they after you?” He asked.

“I have no idea, really. I know one of their reason but… getting rid of me is not really the solution for that. Was it because I helped Hiro and Geoffrey’s gang with the code? That’s all I can think of.” I told him.

“Did you fight with one of them?” He asked again.

“No… I don remember having a conversation between any of them.” I said. I turned to Jaira and Sasha who were listening to me as Haze asks questions.

“We need you to trust us. If someone threatened you, we will be the one to know first, is that okay? We are also considering to transfer you to the Villa for more security.” Jaira said. I wanted to say no regrding the last one but I can’t really deny that I need the protection.

“Can you just transfer Victoria and Kylie? I don’t have any connection with the gangs, I don’t want myself to be involved again.” I said.

“No! You’re coming with us!” Kylie said as soon as I finish my sentence. I looked at her and shook my head. I can’t do anything about that anymore.
