Chapter 5 A bad day

Alexa came in early for work that day,  she sat alone at the dining place where employees have their meals from, she was lost in her thoughts trying to figure out a way to get her friend Kim into the company and also on how she will get to work from the main building. 

Staring into space 

While drowning in her thoughts ,The manager came in ,it was so early and everyone else hadn't come in yet.

"Wow someone is early today, it's almost like you spent a night here my queen," he said while sitting down opposite her.

Alexa got startled , she didn't expect anybody to come in that early. The worst thing was that it was the annoying manager as she called him.

"You startled me manager, what are you doing here this early? " She asked.

"Oh come on don't call me manager , just call me Daniel." He said while smiling .

"Oh okay ,but can you quit calling me all these names you call me , please address me as miss Williams oh miss Alexa ,I already told you that before ''.  She begged.

"There is no need to act all professional here, beautiful, can't you read the handwriting on the wall? I am in love with you, just be mine and I will give you anything you will ever need." He said while touching her hands.

"Excuse me! Are you okay ? In love with me? You must be joking sir ,first of all I am here to work and not to be in some relationship , secondly leave me alone and don't ever come close to me again , thirdly  I will.never be yours in this life or the next one ,you do have a good day sir ." Alexa explained while pushing his hands away from hers .

" Hey , don't forget that I employed you in this company and I can fire you anytime I want ,so you have no right to say no to me," he shouted while grabbing her by force.

"Are you the owner of this company ? You have no right to fire me , I can report you for this horrible behavior you know, She replied with anger in her voice while struggling to get out of his hands.

Angry Alexa could not hold her peace anymore , she immediately baptized him with a tight dirty slap on his long face.

"Ouch , Your slap means nothing , come here ," '' he said while pulling her close to him.

As soon as he wanted to kiss her, sir James who was standing in a corner for a minute quickly came  in, he already saw everything that had happened.

"Don't you dare do that , that's if you have any dignity left in you. "He shouted in anger.

The manager immediately let go of her , he was trembling in fear as he quickly moved aside . Alexa on the other hand ran and hid behind sir James she was shaking in fear as she didn't know what could have happened if sir James hadn't come me in.

Grag and his friend immediately came in as well; they were wondering what had happened. Sir James kicked the manager out in anger and he went as fast as his legs could carry him. Poor Alexa was so scared.

"You are safe now my dear, I will make sure he is fired from his job , I don't want this to happen to another girl," he assured.

"What happened ?" Everyone who came in asked.

"Daniel almost took advantage of Miss Williams , and this is unacceptable, he must face the consequences of his actions. And let this serve as a lesson to everyone in here , you will also get fired as soon as you are found breaking the rules, " He explained.

Everyone went to their duty posts while murmuring about what had happened , Alexa on the other hand was given a quick water break so she could  calm herself down . As soon as she sat down , a Lady who was in love with Daniel, the  manager, came to her. Her name is April.

"Hey ! How dare you tell lies about Daniel , we all know he can never do what you are accusing him off , who knows maybe it's you who almost took advantage of him , tell the truth," she said while banging the dining table in silence.

" Accuse you say , don't you feel any remorse for me ? How dare you say that to me , what if you were the one in my shoes? The guy almost took advantage of me and here you are trying to turn tables around. Please leave and don't say things you know nothing about ." Alexa said while standing up in anger.

"If Daniel loses his job because of this , you will pay dearly," she said while moving away from the table.

"Leave !" Alexa said.

Alexa became so exhausted from the situation , but she still went and started her shift . 

During Lunch time Alexa went into Sir James' s office to have Lunch with him as she promised , but he wasn't in his office , he had gone to tell the human resource manager to explain what Daniel did early that morning and surprisingly she already took care of the matter.    

Just as Alexa was coming back from  sir James's office someone came in to call her. And she was told to go to the human resource manager's office in the main building .

"Wow in the main building? Mmmm," she whispered .

She was so glad , she has always wanted to go to the main building without having to hide from anyone. She quickly went following the guy they had sent.

She knocked on the office door.

"Qcome in, Miss Williams." The HR said.

She quickly came in  and sat down,  Daniel the factory manager was there even sir James was also present in the room,  Alexa already knew what the matter was  just by looking at the people involved and why she was called in.

" I already know what had happened to you earlier this morning and am so sorry for that , even though you been employed here was never known to us , but you get to keep your job as compensation for what had happened. I heard you are a hard worker and we are glad to hear that." She explained.

"Thank you ma'am, " Alexa replied.

"As for you Manager , you are here by fired from your job. My team and I sat down and we came to a conclusion. You have broken the most important rule of this  company and  there is no second chance for this , this  may bring the company down if it goes outside." She said.

Daniel was chased out of the office and was told to pack whatever belonged to him. He quickly went and did as  asked. 

Alexa on the other hand saw it as an opportunity to go around the building .As soon as the meeting was over she quickly went to the fifth floor of the building , that's where her uncle and her cousin's offices are. Their offices were just opposite each other . 

She quietly went and took a peep on the first office which is made of glasses, hence , it was easy for her to see through inside. She looked up on top of the office ,and her uncle' s name was written there.

She looked in the opposite direction. She saw two people arguing and she could barely hear what they were arguing about. She quickly went and hid at the edge of Michael's office.

"Are they fighting?" She whispered.

Few Minutes later , Michael came out in anger. As soon as Alexa saw him , she quickly ran in fear of being seen and hid again.

Michael went into the elevator . Alexa went away too , she quickly ran and went back to the factory . 

 As soon as Alexa reached the factory, April was there standing  at the factory door waiting for her arrival.

"Excuse me , let me through please, Alexa said.

But April on their other hand was not ready to move out of  the way.

" Are you happy? " she asked .

"Happy about what? " Oh, if it's about the firing of  your jerk boyfriend who never notices you, then yes , he deserved it , now get out of my way. Alexa replied.

This statement angered April and she rendered a slap on Alexa's beautiful face .  Alexa who was not surprised by her actions quickly smacked her back with even a bigger and more painful slap on her face.

"Don't ever stand in my way again, that is if you still want to keep your job," Alexa said while opening the door in anger.

April was left there standing in shock , she did not expect Alexa to slap her back , she quickly went inside with shame on her face and closed the door behind her in anger.

Knocking off hour came in and Alexa went to sir James's office to thank him for what he had done for her .  Sir James who was locking his office door saw Alexa coming.

" Hey ,go home already today was a bad day for you , you need proper rest," he said.

"Just wanted to thank you first before I went home , I mean you saved me from the manager." She said.

" Oh come on, that was nothing , anyone in my position could have done that too." He said.

Sir James and Alexa walked out of the building together , Alexa assisted sir James to find a cab and off he went.

"Bye sir ! See you tomorrow ," she shouted while the cab moved away.

"What a bad day it was for me ," she whispered, waving her hand to a passing taxi.

Alexa later  found herself a cab and went home.
