Chapter 3

Alexia POV

I kept looking at the stranger and he did the same

It was a sound from the party that brought me back to reality and when I realized it was holding me way too close I walked away

"I'm sorry I bumped into you " I said and wanted to walk away but he walked in my way

I looked at him in surprise, he smiled and gently wiped a tear from my face.

A tear that I never realized was there

Just then we heard Nick and Mary moan out loud, just listening to it made me feel sick and it

"Are you crying because of this?" He suddenly asked

"Of course not, of course not" I said and left before he could ask me more.

I went straight to my room and sat on my bed, I never realized loving Nick would hurt so much

Seeing him with mary hurts a lot, seeing him kiss her and do all these things with her hurts my heart

But there's nothing I can do about it, he doesn't know how I feel about him and it would be better if he didn't, I thought.

The next day I woke up feeling sad and not so happy, mom was nowhere to be found, I knew she would be out working as usual

This part of the house had been given to mum to use whenever they had a party that ended late

And yesterday's party was late she would have been working late at night and now she's up early to work too I better go help her I thought as I got up and walked off to his research

I was walking through the garden, heading towards the main house and memories of what happened last night came flooding back to me.

There was Nick having fun with his girlfriend, I just remember it pissed me off so much

I turned across a path and there he was near some flowers looking at them

He hadn't seen me yet and I found myself staring at him reluctantly, even though he had kissed a girl yesterday, I still liked that fool, my stupid heart kept beating fast because he was close

He suddenly turned around and I felt angry that he caught me starring

"Hello my best" He said approaching me

I couldn't smile back because I kept thinking about last night

"Hello" I said and turned to leave but he stopped me

"Hey! That's how you greet your best friend, you don't look happy to see me" He said

"I have a lot to do this morning so please excuse me" I said and left before he could stop me

I came to the kitchen and found my mother doing the dishes

"Hello mom, let me do this" I said and started washing the dishes as she started cooking

"You went to bed early yesterday" She said

"Yes, I felt tired, I'm sorry I left you alone" I said

"It's not a problem, I didn't even know you left, it was Nick who asked about you and that's when I realized you had gone to the bedroom"

"Nick asked me?"

"Yeah, he was pretty upset that you left the party not having fun and didn't tell him anything" She said

"Oh" was the only answer I gave to mum, my mind kept wondering when he picked me up, was it when he finished sleeping with Mary or before that....

"I can come in" Nick said knocking on the door

"Not a problem boy, it's your house after all" My mother said and he smiled brightly before entering

I pretended not to see him and concentrated on washing the dishes

"You've really grown a lot, you're even more beautiful" said my mother and he smiled and went to give her a hug for that

Ever since we were little, Nick has always been close with my mother and with his own parents, he sees her as a mother he never had and she sees him as a son she doesn't have. had

"You always find a sweet word to butter me up" he said and she laughed

Why is he here? It's the only place I can be without seeing him, so why is he here? I was thinking while angry

"Can I join you?" he said suddenly as he stood beside me.

"I can do it on my own, thank you" I said

"I don't know why? But I have this feeling; who made my best friend angry?" he said

"So if you made her angry, find a way to make her forgive" My mother said

"I'm planning on doing it but I don't even know what I did to her, plus I doubt she wants to do what I want," he said.

"And what do you want to do?" My mother asked her

"I'm planning to take her out but I'm sure she would say no so please help me beg her," he said.

“Alexia darling, your best friend wants to take you out, he wants to catch up” She said

"There's a lot of work mum, I'll stay and help you" I said don't bother looking at it

I don't know why my mom was talking to him to take me away and he just did that

He took my hand and pulled me out

"What are you doing?" I said as I freed myself

"Stealing from you, you're mad at me and I'd rather have someone else mad at me than have you mad at me, so to try and get your forgiveness I'm gonna get you out" he said

"But you're a celebrity, won't people recognize you?" I said

"I have the perfect disguise for this, so while I go upstairs to get it, you're going to get ready" He said pushing me down the path that led me to the servants' quarters

Having no choice, I went to get ready and dressed in baggy pants and a simple t-shirt, I packed my hair and without make-up, I went to meet her

The first thing I saw was his disapproving face

"You know everyone noticed you wear that awful thing all the time," he said.

"That's how I dress and if you don't like it, I'll go back" I said

"Oh whatever, look at the disguise" He said pulling out a drink and a wig

"One for you and one for me" He said and he carried it for me

"You really look like a clown" He said smiling and at first I was annoyed by his words but I laughed saying he looked like a clown too

Putting his arm around my shoulder, we left the mansion

He didn't want to use his car, so we drove

Go to the cinema then to the amusement park then to the restaurant where they serve the best delicacies

I was amazed how he could spend money without worrying, after all he was at the top of the pyramid and they paid him well

"It's so good not to be recognized" he said as he walked the streets enjoying our ice cream

"It's thanks to our disguise" I said

"I know" He said smiling back

We passed a place where a lot of television was placed and I stopped to listen to what a presenter was saying

"Diamond School of Music is enrolling new kids, so if you're interested, you better go get the form before it ends," the man said.

"I wish I could go to Diamond High School" I said suddenly in my thoughts

"Do you want to go? I mean to this school?" He said

"How do you know I want to go" I asked

''Look how hypnotized you are by advertising'' He replied

"Because just like you I love music and this is the best place to learn one but since mom can't afford it I better forget about it, let's move on" I said in wanting to leave but he caught me

"Do you really want to go to this school" He asked and I nodded

"Yes, I want it; But since I can't pay, I better stay in my school" I said smiling at him

I never noticed the serious look he gave me

We were driving home when her phone rang, I managed to see who the caller was

"Aren't you going to pick up?" I asked

"No, she just doesn't understand that it's over between us" He said suddenly and I looked at him

"Are you sure it's over" I asked

"Yeah, she's just a fucking bitch" he said

A bitch you liked last night, I thought

"Turns out she's dating my enemy and also dating me at the same time," he said.

That'll teach you ? If you had dated me instead, I would have treated you like a god himself.

"So now it's over between you two" I asked

"So over" He said and I felt happy to hear that

Just then a car parked next to us and a man got out

"What are you doing here mark?" He asked the stranger

"You were supposed to be in the studio at ten o'clock but you never showed up," the man said.

"Oh I'm sorry I got carried away, being around my best friend makes me forget everything" He said

The man looked at me in disgust and I squirmed back

"You're supposed to work Nick, not play, now get on, we've got a lot to do" he said

"Okay, sorry Alex, but today will have to end like this, but I'll make it up to you later," he said.

"Okay" I said and with a pat on my shoulder he left

"Are you sure it's a girl, she looks like a boy" I heard the guy Mark say

"Just shut up mark" He said and while he was sitting in the car he waved at me and I waved back

I looked at myself and smiled "I must really look like a boy after all" I whispered to myself before leaving on my own.......
