“Hye, Leah. We have to go now to… who are you? Fuck, is he going to kill you? Shit shit shit I have... Uhhh gun, yeah I have a gun. Fuck off and leave my best friend alone!!!”

“Sheila, stop! You’re being paranoid. This is my friend, Ethan.” She must have taken something on, that’s why she’s acting like this. “Hey… hey. It’s alright. Look at me sheila. How many did you take?”

“3… but Evan said it is fine. [cry] I’m sorry… I only have her., [sigh] I’m sorry.” She puts the gun back in her bag and continues to cries.

“Why did he do that, he knew this was bad for you. Sheila… I know you love him but this will kill you. How about we smoke some weed and not this. Only greens. Promise me you will not touch this thing again.” I throw away the pills.

“Ok, but you have to follow me. Now and we will have some fun. Right, Ethan?” It was clear that she was trying to win favour from him to a man that he almost shot.

“Up to you, Leah. What do you want to do?” He asks me.

“Fine, I will go. Wait here, but I do not have any cloth for your amazon party. Shell.” I pout.

“That will be easy.” She walks to me and takes off my shirts, leaving me only with bra and shorts. “Now we are the same. Sisters forever and Ethan boy here… he can do the same. Take it off now.”

He did it willingly while smiling at me. Showing his lean and sturdy body, left her speechless. “I can go like this.”

“That’ll settle then. Come on Leah!” She drags me out of the room.

“I didn’t know you smoke.” Ethan puts his hands on me. It felt natural. I didn’t even care what’s gonna happen next. He said that he will protect me.

“I do but that’s not what’s this about now. What are you doing now?” I push away his hand but he is not moving.

“I will keep my words. Protecting you. Now let’s have some fun, will ya?” He smirks and I am shaken.

Sheila was right, tonight’s party is epic and everyone is going all out and lose themselves in the middle of the crowds. We take a few shots of tequila, beer pong and did everything that we see, sheila passed out too soon and Evan took him away from us. Give him a word or two about hurting sheila, I’m sure she will understand it, no one can hurt my love one. He nods when I told him, he should be off forging subscription on the pills or I will bring him down myself, Ethan approaches me after that, he gives me a nudge, congratulates me for what I did for her.

“Do you fancy a smoke? My friends just gave it to me. I know a place that no one will find us but we need a car.” I show him some fresh joints that my friend slip into my hands

“You sure? I mean all of your friends are here.” He raises his eyebrows.

“You said I should have some fun.” I looked at him full of hopes.

“You’re crazy, wait here.” He laughs and leaves me alone to take his car keys.

I had to get more drinks, I know that we are not supposed to be alone together, things just won’t fall in my plate that easily, he might have other intentions towards me but right now all I want to do is relax my mind before class started next week. I will be pack with my schedules and to find the money for my tuition fees, coming back to them on Easter and Christmas, then I will be out of town. Permanently ---

“You know as theta, you are not supposed to leave the party early.” It’s Leo, the one who had a crush me for all semester. He is creepy in some way.

“I can do whatever I want but thank you for reminding on that. This party does not need me.” I laugh it off while drinking my beer. He was looking at me in some way and I do not approve. “What are you looking at Leo?” I snarled.

“I am thinking that you had an amazing body. Look at you, why are you hiding it all?” He touches me.

“What the fuck, get off me!!!” I shout.

“Come on, I know you wanted me to. I’m here for you baby.” he starts to become obnoxious bastards.

“Get off me, you dick!!!.” I punch his face and that takes him on the ground but he gets up and lifts me. Everyone was too busy in their world. I was trying to reach anything that I can use to hit him. I can see someone is running in full speed and knock him down, my body feels the impact but it was bearable. He’s going to kill him. “Ethan, stop… stop, please. He’s drunk. Jesus, you! Pick up your friend and go.” I point at one of his friends. “Ethan, stop. Look at me. I’m fine” I had to take him away from Leo, his face is bleeding.

“You, alright?” He checks my body thoroughly.

“I’m good.” I cover my body. Everyone stops dancing and crowding us, I feel sick to my stomach. “Let’s go, Ethan.” I plead.

“Here, wear my shirt.” He takes it off and put it on me then lift me and goes to his car. I hide my face on his chest, there’s a bruise on my left hand. “We need to go to the clinic. Here… wear my shorts” He takes it from behind of his seat.

“Thank you, Let’s just go out from here. I need to smoke.” I looked at him almost cry.

“Ok, Leah. Let’s get out from here. I bring you to my place.” He drives away, only focusing on the street.

Without even ask anything that happened, his hands are injured but I was too overwhelmed with Leo. I could not even utter any words, I will not cry in front of him. I had enough show for the day. It was late at night and we are in a secluded place, with only a mansion. I can see it from afar. “Where are we, Ethan?”

“It’s my house.” He replied short and went inside the garage.

“This is your house?” Took me by surprised but I was not amazed. All of this is not his, it is his parents.

“We can smoke in my room.” He offered when we passed by each corridor. His house was humongous.

“No, we should not, let’s go to the attic, do you know how to go up?” I am intrigued, after all, his house was full of books and no one is around. Except for a few maids passing by the house.

“That is my spot.” He takes my hand and guides me through the rooms, we go inside of the secret chamber and end up in hidden circle stairs. It’s like in a film, where you have all the secret passages for you to stay hidden.

“You are not going to bring me to some room and beheaded me, right?” I make a joke. Lousy one.

He stops and stares at me. “When I like something, I might keep you for a long time.”

“Are you serious?” I take a step backwards.

“No, silly, it was a joke.” He quickly changed his expressions. “Come, just a few more stairs.”

He did say a few more, but we ended up climbing almost thirty or more stairs. I am lucky enough to be an athlete but this spiral stairs make me dizzy. He opens the lock and we are at the top of his mansion. “Wow… Ethan. This is nothing compared to my hiding spots, you grow up here?”

He carefully placed blankets and wine. “You can see the stars clearly and it is peaceful up here. I always go here when I wanted to run away from my parents, how’s your hand? Let me see.”

He took my hands, my body feels hot. “Look at yours, let’s wash it off with this blood. Why did you do it? Leo has some reputations at school and he’s father is one of the shareholders. You could be in trouble, you know because you are a junior.” I take off his shirt and wipe his hand and put it on again. “There, that should do it.”

“We’re at the same age you know. I turn twenty-five this year.” He replied calmly while inhaling the smoke.

“Why did you start as junior then?” I get more curious.

“Mom was mad at me, I ended up bailing off school and doing drugs. I was not being myself at that time, especially when I saw my dad fucks his secretary back in London. At one point, he threatens me to finish my college and get a scroll or I will end up in the streets. I did it, not because of him, I came here, because she begs me to do so and she wants me to be clean. That’s why I am here and then I met you.”

He looks at me, gives me the joint

“Why didn’t you tell me to stop?”

“This is nothing, it’s just green. Leah. I am clean for almost a sixth month. This is great. Are you alright, how’s your hand?” He checks it again.

“I will be fine tomorrow. Don’t worry. I’m sorry about your parents, that must have been hard.” We were eye to eye.

“Your red.” He put his hand on my cheeks.

“It’s nothing. Must be the wine and this bad Lil mama.” I looked up and avoids his face.

“You know, you have a lot of eyes staring at you when you’re not looking. You’re very attractive.” He continues to smoke.

“I doubt that. They only look at my face and my body. When they finally get to fuck me, They left. I pick the wrong guy, so this is not entirely on them but I realise they are all the same or it’s just me who picked up the wrong one. [laughs] Well that’s enough about me, what about you?” I soon to realise that he has beauty marks on his right cheeks, I want to kiss it. I doubt he will like that.

“What about me?” He’s clueless.

“Well… do you have someone’s back home? Or here? You’ve quite the news when they see you?” I didn’t like it at all. I have to act like I don’t give a damn about it.

“Oh, yeah? What did they say?” He takes another puff.

“I don’t know, just the normal stuff. Oh, yeah, one of my friends said that you might be gay. [laugh] can you believe that?” He was staring at me.

“Well, do you?” He gets closer.

“I don’t know, it’s up to you if you swing that way if that makes you happy.” I smiled at him. That will be my loss if he does. “I’m kidding, Ethan.”

“You see, love is just words, they are filled with lies and most of the time it is said when it is necessary but they don’t mean it. Like my parents, look what it did to my mom. So, love for me is a waste if you choose the wrong one. I like to savour my love, with someone that I truly believe will stay with me till the end. [laughs] this shit is good stuff, I could not stop talking.” He pulled himself away.

“You’re right but when you do, it can blind you. In split second you will know it or you don’t.” I lie down and look at the sky, this is my best view here and I’m going to savour it. I might not have the chance to see it after this.
