3rd P.O.V

- We used to play a lot here. – Shisui said.

- True. What's wrong? – Itachi said.

- I wanted to know your honest opinion. How serious is Fugaku-san? – Shisui asked.

- Serious? – Itachi said.

- About the coup d'état. – Shisui said.

- Their discontent against the village is getting bigger. If things in the village continue like this the Uchihas will reach their limit. – Itachi answered.

- Do you think it's possible to change their mind? – Shisui asked.

- If the Uchihas won't change the village won't change either. This way both will continue suspect each other and the situation will only get worse with time. – Itachi said.

- I want to eliminate that distrust. – Shisui said.

- Do you think you can? – Itachi asked.

- Who knows? But if I don't do it and the coup d'état happens it will be a disgrace for both parts. – Shisui answered.

- I don't agree with the coup d'état either. We have to do something to avoid it. – Itachi said.

- I know that, but it's better if you don't act. – Shisui said.

- Why is that? – Itachi asked.

- The first division of the Police force distrusts you. They ordered me to keep an eye on you. – Shisui said.

Itachi widened his eyes.

*At Fugaku's House*

3rd P.O.V

- What?! Do you know what day is tomorrow? – Fugaku said mad.

- I do. – Itachi answered.

- Don't you understand your position?! – Fugaku said.

- Tomorrow I have a mission. – Itachi said.

- What type of mission? – Fugaku asked.

- I can't say it. It's a secret mission. – Itachi answered.

- Itachi, you're the person that it's our link to the village core, you know that...right? – Fugaku said.

- Yes. – Itachi answered.

- Then don't forget that and come to the meeting tomorrow! – Fugaku said.

Saori P.O.V

..................................................I feel weird...why do I feel this?........

Maybe I'm just tired...yeah that's it.

I went home instead of continue training.

I sighed.

I haven't seen Shisui and Itachi these days, I wonder if they're okay.

Saori P.O.V

Suddenly I heard a loud noise coming from my bedroom...WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!

I ran to my room.

- SHISUI?! – I said and widened my eyes.

- S-Saori. – he said.

I went to him to take a look...

- S-Shisui...what happened?! What happened to your eye?! – I asked worried.

- S-Saori...I don't have much time. You have to listen to me carefully. – he said serious.

- Shisui, you need a doctor right now! – I said worried.

- Saori! – he said serious.

I widened my eyes.

- Saori, listen. The mission I was talking about the other day. – he started.

I nodded.

- One was from the Hokage regarding the Uchihas but the other one it was me who decided to investigate. – he explained.

- What did you decide to investigate? – I asked.

- Saori...I heard some Anbu and other people talk about your parents death, some things didn't make sense so I decided to investigate their death. – he said.

- But...they were killed on a mission by the enemy. – I said.

- Saori...they weren't. – he said.

- W-What? – I asked confused.

- Danzo ordered to kill them. After they finished their mission, Danzo and some of his loyal followers appeared and...murdered them. – he explained.

- N-No... - I said.

- Saori, I don't have much time. Danzo was responsible for your parents death and he was the one who took my eye. Listen, don't trust him, don't believe anything he say, I'm sure you know why he killed them. – Shisui said.

My eyes became thirsty for revenge but soon was stopped.

- Saori, you can't go after him. He's too strong. You have to be careful because he doesn't know that you know this. Use this to your advantage and use it wisely.

- Shisui...what about you?! – I asked.

- Saori, it's okay...I'll be okay. Don't worry. – Shisui said and hugged me which I accepted.

I widened my eyes.

- N-No...don't do this! Don't you dare say goodbye to me! Please, don't leave! – I said hugging him tighter.

- Saori, don't worry. I just have to go now and take care of some things. Okay? – he said separating from the hug.

- P-Please. – I said sad.

- Saori, be strong. – he said and kissed my forehead and left.

3rd P.O.V

- It seems that it's no longer possible to stop the coup d'état and if a civil war happens now other countries will attack and will be a chaos. Before I could use the kotoamatsukami to stop it, Danzo stole my right eye. He didn't trust me and he wants my other eye as well. So before that happens I'll give it to you. I can only trust you besides Saori, but I don't want her involved in this. Protect our village...and the Uchihas name. – Shisui said giving Itachi his remaining eye.

- I'll accept it. But...what are you going to do? – Itachi asked.

- Maybe my death changes a little bit the situation. I left a suicide note. – Shisui said.

- WAIT SHISUI! – Itachi said.

- Don't stop me, Itachi. – Shisui said and fell off the cliff even though Itachi tried to stop him.

- SHISUI! – Itachi screamed.

- SHISUI! – Itachi screamed

Saori P.O.V

I widened my eyes...a sudden pain appeared on my chest and in my eyes...

- AHHHHH! – I screamed in agony.

I went to the bathroom and started putting water on my face when......blood?......my eyes....

I looked at the mirror...I widened my eyes.

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!

No.....it...it can't be..........I undid the Mangekyou Sharingan, I gave one step back and for some reason everything went black.

*Following Day*

Saori P.O.V

I slowly opened my eyes.....What happened?

Knock knock................the door....I got up slowly and went to open the door.

- Kakashi? What is it? – I asked.

- Saori...it's about Shisui. – he said.

- W-What about him? – I said nervous afraid of the answer.

- Uchiha Shisui...is dead. He committed suicide. – Kakashi answered.

I widened my eyes.

- No....that can't be true....he wouldn't do that. – I said shaking.

- The Hokage told me to give you this. – Kakashi said handing me a piece of paper.

- W-What's this? – I asked.

- Shisui's suicide note. – he answered.

I widened my eyes.

- I'm sorry for your lost Saori. I'll leave you alone now. – he said and left.

I closed the door and went to my room and started reading the note.

"I've grown tired of my duties. There's no future for the Uchiha nor for me. I cannot walk the "path" any longer."

I fell on my knees and grabbed the note close to my chest.....Shisui........WHY?!

I started crying uncontrollably.

It's not fair!

*After a Couple of Hours*

3rd P.O.V

Kakashi told Saori what time was Shisui's funeral.

She went to the place and hide on a tree. All the Uchihas were there...........Shisui......

After it people started leaving one by one, I waited until nobody was there.

After everyone left I got down and went to his grave and sat in front of it.

Saori P.O.V

- Shisui...I'm sorry I wasn't.....I w-wasn't able to h-help you.....t-to....I'm so sorry. You..... – I said quietly.

- You helped me s-so much.... – I said with tears rolling down my cheeks.

..................................Danzo...............it's his fault.

I got up ready to go find Danzo....he killed my parents...he stole Shisui's eye........he's going to pay.

As I was walking Shisui's words echoed in my head.

"He's too strong for you."

I went home instead.

I closed the door behind me and fell on my knees crying again.

Shisui.............

*Flashback*

- Saori! – Shisui said.

- Huh? – I said and got thrown at the ground because Shisui ran into me to hug me.

- Hi! – he said.

- Geez! Calm down Shisui! – I said laughing.

He grinned at me and helped me up.

- So what are you up to? – he asked.

- Nothing, just arrived from a mission. – I answered.

- So Itachi is back as well, right? – he said.

I nodded.

- SWEET! We can go train again, the 3 of us! – he said happy.

I smiled.

- So have you told him yet?! – he asked.

- Shisui! – I said embarrassed.

- Come on! Get it over with! I want to be your best man! – Shisui said.

- SHISUI! – I said blushing madly.

He looked at me laughing and I just pouted

Why Shisui?

I went to my room and grabbed a photo of the 2 of us.

*Flashback*

- Come on, let's go take a photo! – Shisui said.

- Why? – I asked.

- So we can have this moment on photo! – he said.

- What moment? What are you about to do?! – I said.

- The moment we became bestfriends! – he said with a smile.

I laid down crying again with the photo near my chest.

3rd P.O.V

Saori that night passed out from so much crying and anxiety.

Days have passed and she only gets out of the house when has to go on a mission or to buy food.

Saori P.O.V

- How did it go? – the Hokage asked.

- Like the others, it's finished Hokage-sama. – I said.

- Saori...how have you been since Shisui passed away? – he asked.

- I'm fine. – I said.

- I see...you're dismissed. – he said.

I nodded and left.

I was walking when I heard a conversation.

- I think it was him. – a guy said.

- Do you think he would do that? – another said.

- Think about it. Anyone with the sharingan could copy his hand writing! – the first guy said.

That caught my attention so I got closer.....they're from the police force...who are they talking about?

- He's been strange since he started working with the Anbu. – the guy said.

- And we asked Shisui to keep an eye on him and now he commits suicide?! – the first one said.

- Let's go to his house then! – the other said.

- We're not the only ones thinking about this. – the first one said.

- Who else? – another guy asked.

- Basically most of the Uchiha clan believes that...Itachi killed Shisui. – the first said.

I widened my eyes.....no....

I got out of there and went to look for Itachi.

I went to the place where we use to hang out and train...he must be there, he would always go there when he had troubles and deep thoughts.

*At the Forest*

I saw him on a tree....just as I thought.

I went there and stand behind him.

- What are you doing here? – Itachi asked.

- Looking for you. – I said.

- To accuse me like the rest? – he asked.

I looked at him sadly.

I sighed and sat beside him.

- I know you. You didn't do it. It never crossed my mind such thing, Itachi. – I said.

- Why? They have some good points. – he said.

I looked at him.....he was looking down.

- Look at me Itachi. – I said.

He looked up...his eyes...did he?

- Y-You saw it...didn't you? – I asked sad.

- What? – he asked.

- Shisui...you saw him doing it...didn't you? – I said.

He looked down.

- Itachi... - I said.

He looked at me again.

- How did you know? – he asked.

- Do you sense anybody near? – I asked.

- No. I don't feel any presences around. Why? – he said.

- Because I'm going to tell you something important. – I said.

He nodded.

- I didn't know that you saw it, but after looking into your eyes I put the pieces together. – I said.

- What pieces? – he asked.

- That night...Shisui burst into my room bleeding...without an eye. He went there to tell me that Danzo was the one that stole his eye and...to tell me that my parents weren't killed in a mission. – I said.

- What do you mean? – he asked.

- Danzo...he ordered their death. He killed them. That was one of the reasons why Shisui was acting strange. – I said.

- He....He killed them? – Itachi asked mad.

I nodded.

- After that...he said he would be okay and told me to be strong but...he also said he had to go because he had other things to take care of. He went to you, didn't he? – I said.

He nodded.

- I see...I'm sorry. – I said.

- The Uchihas were planning a coup d'état against Konoha. He thought that maybe with his death the Uchihas would calm down and get less active on that idea. – he explained.

I widened my eyes.

- Wait a minute! Coup d'état?! – I said.

He nodded.

- How is that going?! – I asked worried.

- Being taken care of by the Hokage. – he answered.

I nodded.

- I didn't see you at the funeral...and lately. – he said sad.

- I was there hidden. I didn't want to deal with all of the Uchihas telling me to go away. So I stood there until everyone left and then sat there in front of his grave. – I said.

- I see. – he said.

- I've been on missions and didn't leave the house...you know....after Shin and my parents, Shisui was the first one there...helping me and always smiling, he gave me light again after the death of my parents. But then...he died and I felt so alone...dark...until I heard 3 Uchihas talk today...saying that they were sure that it was you who killed Shisui. I remembered that I was being selfish and left you grieving alone. So I decided to look for you. – I explained.

- Thank you. – he said.

- I miss him Itachi....I miss him so much. – I said sad.

He looked at me with empathy eyes but sad as well.

- I miss him too. – Itachi said.

A tear rolled down my cheek, Itachi leaned in and cleaned it with his thumb.

We were now looking into each other's eyes.

- Saori. – he said calmly.

- Yeah? – I asked.

- There's something I need to tell you. – he said.

- What is it? – I asked.

- I like you. – he said.

- Saori? – he said.

- I......I like y-you too. – I said.

He gave me a small smile.

- You're the first one that made me smile since Shisui's death. – he said.

Hearing Shisui's name made another tear roll down my cheek which Itachi cleaned it again with his thumb and started caressing my cheek.

He started to lean in slowly which made me lean in as well. Our lips met each other and moved in sync.

His lips were soft, warm...the kiss was tender, soft and sweet...nothing rough...it was gentle.

We stopped after a couple of minutes and looked into each other's eyes.

He his forehead against mine and continued caressing my cheek.

- Promise me one thing. – he said.

- What is it? – I asked.

- Don't ever hate me, please. – he said.

- Itachi...I would never hate you. – I said truthfully.

- No matter what you see or ear. – he said.

- I will never hate you. I promise. – I said.

- Thank you Saori. – he said.

- You're welcome. – I said grabbing his hand and caressing it.

He kissed my forehead gently.

- I guess he was right. – I said quietly.

- Who was? – Itachi asked pulling me closer to him.

I smiled at his gesture.

- Shisui...he once told me that if you and me confessed to each other and be together we would be happier. – I said.

He looked at me with a warm smile.

- I'm happier now, thank you. – I said.

- I'm glad. I'm happier now too. – he said.

I put my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes.

- Are you tired? – he asked.

- A bit. I came from a mission minutes before I came looking for you. – I said.

- Come, I'll take you home so you get some sleep. – he said.

- Don't worry, I'm fine. – I said.

He grabbed me bridal style and started running.

- .........I can walk Itachi! – I said laughing a bit.

He smiled.

- I know, I just wanted to carry you. This way you're closer to me. – he said.

I snuggled at his chest and enjoyed his smell and warmth...he smells so good....I started to feel sleepy.

- We're here. Give me your keys. – he said.

I took them and give it to him.

- Thank you. – he said.

He was able to open the door without putting me down.

We got in and he closed the door. He took me to my bedroom and put me carefully on the bed.

- Thank you. – I said.

- You're welcome, try to get some rest. – he said.

I grabbed his hand.

- Could you...huh...stay? – I asked.

He nodded and laid beside me. I put my head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat....it was calming me down.

He started caressing my hair slowly and gently which was making me even sleepier.

- Thank y-you Itachi. – I said closing my eyes.

- You're welcome. – he said kissing my forehead.

With that I fell asleep.

Itachi P.O.V

She fell asleep...Saori...Shisui was right indeed, I'm happier with you.

I carefully got up so she wouldn't notice.

I looked at her and caressed her cheek...I'm so sorry Saori. I wish this could be different.

I kissed her forehead...at least I got to tell her what I feel and got to kiss her at least one time.

Saori....

I gave her another kiss and left.

3rd P.O.V

- In which case even Hiruzen, as Hokage, will have no choice but to take decisive measures whether it results in war or not, the moment the coup d'état happens the Uchiha will lock themselves into a fate of annihilation. Including your innocent little brother. I just want you to make a choice. Either align with the Uchiha, launch the coup d'état and die along with your clan...or side with the Leaf, save your little brother before the coup d'état and then help us eliminate all other Uchiha. Will you accept this mission? It will allow your little brother to be spared, I know you care about the village as much as I. – Danzo said.

- I accept the mission. – Itachi said.

Itachi was about to leave when.

- All the Uchiha must be eliminated...that includes Uchiha Saori. – Danzo said.

- She's not even involved in this. – Itachi said.

- She's still an Uchiha. Do it or your brother will pay. – Danzo said.

Itachi nodded.

*At the Hokage's Office*

3rd P.O.V

- Are you sure about this? – the Hokage asked.

- Yes, Hokage-sama. – Itachi said serious.

- Very well, I will act right away. – the Hokage said.

- Thank you, Hokage-sama. – Itachi said.

*In the Afternoon that Day*

Saori P.O.V

I woke up with some knocking on the door.

I got up and noticed Itachi wasn't there anymore, I went to the door and opened it.

- Hi.

- Hi. I was wondering where you went. – I said.

- I went to prepare somethings for a mission. – Itachi said.

- I see, come in. – I said.

He got in and I closed the door.

- I'm afraid your break it's over. The Hokage asked me to give you this. – he said.

I grabbed the scroll...a mission?

- Is he serious? – I asked.

- Why? – he asked.

- Look at this mission! It's a C level! – I said.

Itachi smiled and poked my forehead.

- He said he didn't had anyone else. – Itachi said.

I pouted.

He kissed my forehead which made me smile immediately.

- Fine, I'll do it. – I said giving in.

I went to get ready and came back.

- Done. – I said.

He came to me and look at me intensively.

- W-What? – I asked.

- Nothing. You're just beautiful, that's all. – he said warmly.

I blushed a bit.

- T-Thank you. – I said.

- You're welcome. – he said caressing my cheek.

He leaned in until our lips met, but this kiss was different...it had more...love? Passion?...I don't know but it ha something more...it meant more.

We stopped and left my house.

- Good luck on your mission. – he said.

- Thank you. I just hope I don't get lost!!! – I said ironically.

He chuckled.

I left and went to the place where the mission was...this is stupid.

I sighed...let's just get this over with.

Itachi P.O.V

I watch her leave...Saori...please don't break that promise.

*At Dawn*

3rd P.O.V

- I know you have something to say. There's nobody here. – Hokage said.

- Thank you for your consideration. – Itachi said.

- You have my gratitude. The civil war was avoided in Konoha but...I'm sorry it had to be this way. – Hokage said.

- I'm sorry. – Itachi said.

- I'm the one who has to apologize. From now on you'll be seen as a rogue ninja that killed all his clan and will enter the Bingo Book as a fugitive, wanted dead or alive. – Hokage said.

- As expected. – Itachi said.

- What are you going to do now? – Hokage asked.

- I was able to get help from a group called Akatsuki. I pretend be in there so I don't break a promise. – Itachi answered.

- She suffered enough already. – Itachi said.

Itachi looked down sad.

- You can go now. I'll leave the jutsu formula of the barrier the same as now. When you're worried about Sasuke or Saori you can just come here. – the Hokage said.

- Sandaime...it's a shame the Uchihas didn't understand your compassion. – Itachi said.

Stupid mission...stupid place!

I was arriving at the Konoha gates when.

I went full speed.

- What room is Uchiha Sasuke in? – I asked a woman.

- You're Uchiha Saori? – she asked.

I nodded.

- Right this way. – she said with an empathy look which I found strange.

I followed her and outside the room was the Hokage...what happened?

- What's wrong? – I asked worried.

- Saori...the Uchiha clan was murdered. The only survivor is Sasuke. He's under a genjutsu but not even the best ninjas were able to break it. – Hokage said.

- Where is Itachi?! Does he know? – I asked.

- Saori...Itachi was the one who did this. – he said.

I widened my eyes....

- No...he wouldn't do such thing. – I said.

- I'm sorry. Please enter and see if you're able to break the genjutsu. I'll be at my office. – he said.

I got in the room...Sasuke...no, Itachi wouldn't...wait.....

*Flashback*

He passed out.

I laid him carefully on the bed and got out.

- When can he leave? – I asked the woman.

- Today in a couple of hours. – she answered.

- I'll be here to take him then. – I said.

She nodded.

I left and went to the Hokage's office.

I busted in not caring who was there.

- Guy...Asuma...leave. – Hokage said.

- H-Hai... - they said.

They left.

- What happened? – I asked.

- Last night Itachi killed all his clan and Sasuke was the only one that survived. – the Hokage said.

- I meant what REALLY happened?! – I said.

- Saori...this is the truth. All the Uchihas are dead. – he said.

I widened my eyes.

- T-That means... - I said.

- There's only 3 Uchihas left. You, Itachi and Sasuke. – the Hokage said.

I looked down....did he really do it?

- Saori, you're dismissed from your duties as an Anbu. – the Hokage said.

- W-What? Why?! – I asked.

- I want you to be a jounin, this way you'll be able to watch over Sasuke. – he said.

- Oh...okay. – I said.

- I'm sorry Saori...for everything. Here, the keys to Sasuke's new apartment. – he said and explained me where it was.

I nodded and left.

I was walking with him and people wouldn't stop whispering about what happened.

I looked at Sasuke, he was cold...mad...sad...all at the same time. Soon we arrived at his new house.

- This is the house the Hokage put you in. If you want you can stay with me though. – I said.

- No, it's okay...I can stay here. – he said.

- Come on. Let's get in. – I said.

He nodded.

I opened the door and we got in.

I closed the door.

- Sasuke. – I said.

- Yeah? – he said.

- I need you to tell me what you saw. – I said.

His eyes began to water, it made my heart ache.

- Here, let's sit and talk. – I said.

He did as I said.

- What happened? – I asked.

- I was coming back from the academy and...everything there was silent...so when I got home I...I saw...I saw m-mom and dad laid there...on the floor...dead. And then I came outside and...and I saw Itachi, I...I asked him why he did this and he...he said...to see how strong he was...then he...he attacked me and...he made me see m-mom and d-dad getting murdered. – he explained.
