Chapter 3

Mary Claire's POV

I don't know what to feel the moment we saw James with other girl. It's not new to me but it still makes me sad. Why can't he choose me? We know each other for a decades now and he never look on me aside from being Jelai's best friend.

I go down stairs to get my water. This thinking makes ma thirsty. While I am getting water from there refrigerator I heard some foot steps, I didn't look because it is just Jelai but I am done drinking Jelai didn't say anything so I turn around to see her. "Why so quiet-" I stop talking when I saw who it is. His angelic innocent face looking at me, he is sitting at the island counter. Why so handsome my crush? but then I remember what we saw earlier and that makes me loosen my grips on the water glass that I am still holding. I jump out of shock, I look at my feet and I'm not bleeding.

My tears started falling I don't know why. His serious face turns into worried face. "Why are you crying? Are you hurt?" He check my body but I remain silent. "Fuck. Tell me where it hurts?" I didn't reply and that makes him look at me.

He slowly wipe my tears. "I hate seeing you crying." He said. My heart is beating so fast. I am blushing I know of course he is my crush. We are just looking at each other. He is slowly getting closer when I heard Jelai's voice. "Kuya? Mary?"

I felt nervous I hope she didn't saw us almost kissing. I am lose of words so I pointed up stairs to escape. I close Jelai's room door and starting shouting on her pillows. James can't hear me.

"Ahhhh! Mary you're embarrassing!"

The scene earlier is repeating on my mind. I can't help but shout my feelings. "Aahhhhhhh! Oh my gosh!" When I calm down I decided to clean those broken glasses down stairs.

When I open the door, I am shock seeing James standing there like listeni to me. "Oh gosh! You scared the hell out of me." I exclaimed. "You can't be scared at me. I am the most handsome man." So full of himself but he is not James if he's not like this.

I felt shy again! "So-sorry." I said before closing the door between us.

"Aahhhhhhh!!" I yell but in a small voice now. He might hear me. "Stop blushing, Mary. You are mad remember."

James Miguel's POV

Shopping with Lea is exhausting. He pointed store and I being gentleman I just follow her. This won't repeat again. I felt thirsty so I go straight to the kitchen when I saw Mary looking at our refrigerator.

I think she didn't notice me so I sat at the island counter to watch her. She's so pure and kind that's why I always want to look at her.

I don't know why she cried but all I want is to comfort her. I hate seeing her crying. She's too cute to cry. She's not hurt or bleeding from the broken glasses so I don't know why she's crying. Looking at her pink-ish lips makes me want to taste it but then my ugly sister came up. Wrong timing! I left her at the kitchen so that she can clean the glasses.

I was heading back to my room when I heard Mary's voice at my ugly sister's room. She's so cute. I didn't expect that she will open the door so I pretend that I am just passing by but I think she saw what I am doing. I hope not.

Haylee Jelai's POV

After cleaning the broken glasses. Holding a plate of cupcakes I go to my room. "Ohh," I lend the plate for her to get some. She's busy watching cartoons and me texting Khyle.

"Khyle is on her way," I pause when I heard the door bell we open the door so that we can hear Khyle. "That was fast. I'll open the door." Mary volunteer so I continue eating my cupcake.

Minutes has past and Mary is not coming back. I was about to check on her when I heard her scream. I run down stairs and there I saw Mary laying down in front of the door bleeding. "M-mary?" I press her tummy where the blood is coming so that she won't lose alot of blood. I am shaking now and my tears are staring to fall.

I don't know where I get the energy to scream. "Kuya! Kuya! Help!" I scream as loud as I can so that he can hear me. "Kuyaa!" I look back at Mary, she's closing her eyes now. "Mary no. Please stay with me. Don't sleep... Kuya!"

He was lazily walking down the stairs but when he saw us he quickly run. "What the fuck happened, Jelai?" I didn't reply and I started crying as I am holding Mary.

"Shit!"

Kuya James quickly run towards the key holders. "Where are you going?"

"I'll get the car. Wait here."

Kuya's speed is above the normal speed that is why I am holding Mary so tight. He is horning every car that is in front of us. When we arrive at our hospital the doctor and nurses quickly go to us. They enter Mary at the emergency room then Mom came up in her doctor's gown. "What are you here?"

"Mom its Mary. She's inside." Mom swiftly enters the emergency room to check on Mary.

I am silently praying when Mary's parents and Khyle arrived. "What happened, Jelai?" Auntie Helen ask me so I tell her that she just open the door and after minutes I heard her scream.

"I hope she's fine. Her stab wounds are not that deep and no organ is damage." After an hour mom gets out of the emergency room she said that Mary is fine and will be sent to her room.

"Thank you, Mom." I said then hug her. It is my fault after all. I asked her to ditch all the class today and the incident happened at our house.

"Who did this to her? She never inserted herself into fight." Khyle said and its true. Khyle and I is always in trouble not her so we have no clue who did this.

"They will pay for this!" Kuya James whisper. He acted like they are in the relationship. Tss. "You have any idea, Kuya James?" I asked him but he shrugged.

I think he has an idea but he doesn't want us to know. If it happened in our house means that Mary is not the target it is just that she is the one who open the door. It can be for me or for Kuya James.
