Chapter Eight; Don't Let Her Go

It's been weeks since the engagement and i didn't see Macy or Alexis or whatever she goes by.

Although Penelope has been saying she sees her everyday,the only logical reason i hadn't seen her was because she was deliberately avoiding me. Well too bad for her, i will find her.

A gentle knock on the door distracted me from my thoughts, and it slowly opened to Lisa poking her head in slowly.

"Mr Will is here to see you sir." She announced. "Tell him to come in." I replied and she left my office.

"Mr Matthews." The tall slender man smiled and i returned the smile also. "Nice to see you Mason."

"I prefer being called Will." He said, "I prefer you sit Down." I said rolling my eyes.

He took a seat and Lisa came in with a cup of coffee, at least she was getting  efficient. "I want your services in finding Alexis Coleman." I said watching him sip his coffee.

"Is all the information you have on her?" Mason asks keeping his coffee  on the table. "Well i knew she was in Glendale eight years ago." I reply

"Anything more current than eight years ago?"

"If i knew, you wouldn't be sitting on this chair right now"

I was only trying to get more information on this Alexis Are you sure thats the  information you have?" He asks again

"Isn't that your job? To get me more information?" I hit my table getting irritated by his futile questions.

"Calm down Mr Matthews. I will get back to you." He said calmly looking at me. "You'll get your money when you actually start working" i told him sternly. "That's fair." He replied, standing up from his chair, "I'll get to work then. I will call you when i have any information."

Penelope and i had our lunch at a nearby Chinese restaurant. She was rather quiet than usual. "Penny are you alright?" I ask with concern in my voice

"Seeing Brian...it made old feelings come back." she responded, "What kind of feelings?" I raised my brow and she shakes her head, "Not those type of feelings" like she knew what i was thinking.

"I will be fine though. So how was the office and all?"

"Someone's already prepared to become my wife. You even sound like one now too"

"Shut up"

"That wedding planner, Macy. Give me her contact details"

"Why?"

"My mom wanted it for something important"

"But i gave your mom her card before the engagement"

"She forgot where she kept it"

"Fine. Here's another one" she passed me the card across the table.

"Thanks."

"My mom and i will be going to Paris later today and we will be there for a week or two." Penelope announced

"Why though?"

"My mom wants to visit a few boutiques there and so i thought why not go with her."

"Mom?" I call immediately i enter the house. "Mom!!" I call again when there was no response.

"What! Whaaattt!" My mom says walking down the stairs, looking for me.

"I need to talk to you" I say sternly

"Tell me."

"Remember that girl i told you about? The one from high school?"

"Ah.. Yes... The one girl that made a man out of you"

"Yes. She's back"

"Didn't you say she was in Glendale and had no intentions of coming back to you?"

"Well yes but she's back"

"Your father won't be pleased. He won't let another woman distract you from Penelope. You know he needs this wedding"

"Yes..but-"

"But nothing! I know you still love her but if she's not with you right now, it's because she doesn't want to be. I can't try to convince your dad if the person I'm doing it for isn't here"

"But you can men-"

"Enough. Kyle come to me with this Alexis and then we will talk more. But until that, i don't want to talk about her"

"Fine."

She did have a point though. If she doesn't want me then why am i doing all these, i have a fianceé that adores me and I'm going around trying to prove Macy is Alexis.

My phone rang and well it was Ashton and Brian. I told them to transfer the call into a wider screen and well i used my iPad to make it better and both their faces popped up on my screen.

"How's it going, my dude." Brian asked eating a piece of turkey

"Really? Turkey?" Ashton rolled his eyes.

"If i could smack you through this phone, i definitely would" i commented

"How come I'm always the one getting bullied I'm this friendship?"

"Because you are the one always saying something stupid."

"But i didn't say anything stupid when i suggested that we look kyle and the lookalike Alexis,hmm?"

"Shut up"

"How's it going? Your Alexis thing, i mean"

"Well. I had a conversation with my mom and she made me realize that if Alexis wanted to be with me, she'd be with me right now"

"You know you hurt her in the past, maybe she's still hurt. Maybe she still hasn't gotten past that, they say time heals all wounds, but there are some wounds that heal better with love and maybe a little bit of time"

"Damn guy...that is the deepest thing you've ever said"

"Shut up" both me and Ashton say to Brian and he laughs.

"Point is, if you really love her, you won't give up. Not now that you're so close to getting her. There's a saying that if it's yours, it'll find it's way back to you. Look she's here, she found her way back to you, that counts for something."

"Ash..when did you get so deep?"

"I've been practicing"

"Is it just me or are you maybe in love?" Brian asked Ashton

"I've always been in love with one per-"

"Jasmine," Brian and i say simultaneously, "yes we know" we completed and we all laughed.

"You guys are stupid" Ashton smirked.

"I have to go now, my father is about to come in the office" Ashton said before disconnecting

"And i want to finish my turkey in peace. Do what Ash says." Brian said before disconnecting.

If i was having doubts about finding her, i have no more doubts.
