Chapter Six; The Engagement

Kyle's POV;

After graduation the guys and i still kept talking even though we were scattered all over the world. Brian was in Europe and Ashton was always traveling. The last i heard was that he was at Singapore.

I told them about the wedding. Ashton was thrilled but Brian,not so much and i get why.

Ashton called to ask me the time of the engagement and that he and Brian would be coming together.

I tried to get some sleep but those eyes keep appearing to me. Alexis really left my mind fucked.

I woke up due to the noise i was hearing from outside my room and took a bath. I came out and saw my mom organizing the dinner we are supposed to have later after the engagement.

I went to the kitchen to get coffee and bumbed into someone that made my coffee spill on me and the floor.

"Sorry!" I heard as the i mutter a curse under my breath. "Are you blind?" I rolled my eyes as the female's eyes met mine. "Did you follow me to my house?" I smirked realising it was Macy and she rolled her eyes, "I'm here to work."

"You look too familiar." I finally said closely looking at her face and she just shrugged. "It's a mere coincidence. Please excuse me."

She got nervous. That means there's something to be nervous about. That also means she's hiding something. I will have to find out what it is.

I changed into a plain white polo and shorts and just chilled on my bed.

"Kyle!!!!" I heard a voice scream and i flinched but relaxed when i knew it was Emily's voice. She calls my name like she was the one that gave it to me. I took my time reaching the stairs and looking at her from up there. "What?" I yelled back and she said nothing but smiled.

"Thank you Emily, you just succeeded in wasting my fucking time." I rolled my eyes and walked back to my room. My eyes widen at what or rather who i see on my bed.

"Aren't you going to give us a hug?" Ashton smiled leaning on my wardrobe and Brian just laid on my bed. I rushed over and gave Brian then Ashton a hug. It's been over a month since i last saw either one of them. My laptop screen didn't count.

"So you are gonna get married." Ashton snorted and Brian laughed. "I totally thought he would die waiting for Alexis."

Ashton hit him at the mention of Alexis and i waved it off. "It's fine, I'm totally fine. Although I'm a little bit sure she's here."

"She's here?!" Brian asked and i nodded. "I'm not sure but i will get a private investigator to dig" i openly said. "Come with me." I tell them and lead them to the door of the kitchen where Macy is trying to get the food and snacks in order. I gestured to the lady and they both looked speechless.

"She does look similar to Alexis. But that's not enough to confirm."  Ashton pitched in. "But since when did Alexis get black hair? Wasn't hers brown?" Brian looked confused.

"There's a thing called dye you stupid." I spat at him and smacked the back of his head. "Did you speak to her?" Ashton asked and i shook my head, "whenever i want to talk to her, she always makes an excuse." Ashton's eyes lit up that a bulb came on in his head and he just smiled.

The party was being held here,if you didn't already notice and with the time being five o'clock people had already started coming. Some people i met during some meeting while others i really didn't know. I had on my suit and my blonde hair was combed and slipped back thanks to gel and both Brian and Ashton were ready also.

"Kyle." Brian called. "Let's take a photo." He said and Ashton didn't oppose to the idea and i concured. We took a selfie that didn't look satisfying and so we settled that a photographer would take the pictures.

My mom came to my room and announced that Penelope was here already so i should come downstairs. We stood in the middle of the crowd and spotted Macy in the crowd. She changed her dress.

She had on a long black strapless dress and her long black hair was curled, her emerald green eyes sparkling more than ever. I couldn't help but stare. She saw me staring and she was flushed, she left that position and went somewhere else.

I saw Penelope walking towards me in her Long pink dress that i must admit, did look good but her eyes feel like they were hurt. But obviously nobody noticed as she covered it with a smile anyone approached her.

When she was finally standing five feet away from me, i whispered, "are you fine? You look rather worried." She tried that fake smile with me again and she nodded. Taking my hand and sliding an engagement ring on my finger and after which some people clapped.

I took the engagement ring and slid it up her finger and everyone clapped and we both smiled for the camera. After everyone went to the dining table to see the dinner Macy planned. As i stepped into the dining room i see lights illuminating my name and Penelope's name. The table was arranged with snacks and food. My father hugged Penelope's father and they both opened a bottle of champagne and passed yhe bottle to everyone so that they could all turn into their glasses.

When everyone had champagne in their glass they all lifted it up. "To The Couple!." Everyone said and i looked to my side and see Penelope staring at me with her glass. We both raised our glasses and clicked it with each other before everyone else and we take a sip.

"Kiss! Kiss!! kiss!!!" We heard from everyone and they all looked at us expectantly even Macy stood there watching us and we leaned in closer to each other and kissed and everyone cheered.

"You look pretty" i whisper closely to Penelope, seeing how everyone's attention was now on food and engrossed in conversations.

She smiled and whispered back, "you look great as well."

Ashton and Brian came and Penelope's mood changed. She wasn't exactly happy before, but she wasn't wearing the frown she had on now.

"Penelope i believe you remember Ashton and Brian from high school and college days" i tried to remind her and she smiled. "Yes...how could i forget." Her eyes darting at Brian. "Excuse me." She forced another smile and left.
