THE PRESIDENT

PRESIDENT POV

The dignity of a country is the proficiency to be free from any internal crisis.

How could I explain to the people that I was a facet of those they expected me to arrest. This was too imaginary to speculate. It was quite preposterous.

Not only that It was hilarious. A whole President. I can’t even wish to withstand those media and youth.

The news was over the net and media. They were calling for their arrest.

How can they catch the wind? How can they stop the rain? I thought

They don’t know who the mafias of the undercover are.

The door of my office flew open. One of my special advisers walked in.

I stared at him as he wasn’t a human being. He was nervous when he discovered how I gazed at him.

“Your Excellency, the youth are all over the street, they want you to arrest the undercover guards,” he said.

I went over the window. I stared down at the floor. Then my eyes gazed over the street, I could see thousands of youths coming toward the White House. They were carrying plasters with captions. I couldn't glimpse at what was in each caption because they were still far away.

“Get the security to bind them out,” I said as anger superseded me.

“But your excellency, we can’t do that. They will surely come with the media, we don’t want to stain our reputation all over the world,” he said.

I knew that it was the truth. But I don’t wish to confront them.

Another staff member entered with a worried state.

“Your Excellency, the youth are on a rampage to the White House,” he said as he stepped in.

“So what do you intend to do,” I ignored the staff that just entered and faced the first one.

“Sir, there is nothing we can do other than listen to them and grant their request, sir,” the first staff member said. I stared at him in disbelief.

“That is the truth, this will be the Fifth time they could be doing so, but we refused to be attentive to them. But this time they wouldn't accept to leave until we will see them, I greatly accept that you should see them,” the second one said.

“I can’t confront them,” I said. I could see the astonishment on their faces.

I don’t care, I am the boss and what I felt I couldn't do, I won’t do it. I thought.

“Your excellency, then I’ll be happy if you see them. Or likely call for a few minutes press release,” the first one said. The other nodded.

I smirked angrily at them. They were astonished.

“I can’t do any press releases or meet them, when I am ready to eradicate the undercover guards, I will let you know,” I said.

I sat down. I don’t care what they want.

“Sir, the prince of Sari mansion was attacked. Many lives were lost. you know how much the king and the prince were loved by the people. They will want to fight the undercover guards themselves, which will lead to more chaos. You are the only apex authority to curb such chaos…” the first staff said. But I cut him up.

“I can’t be the one to curb it. That is why there are security agencies. They were independent enough to handle that,” I said, trying to convince them.

They breathe in and out. I smirked interlay.

“But…,” the second said.

“There is no but, I have made myself clear, you should try to clear the mess as a government official,” I said.

They both stared at each other.

They bowed before they strode out in anger.

As they strode out. My phone rang. I grabbed it.

I took the receiver.

“hi, Prince,” I said.

“I heard that the youth were on a rampage toward the white house,” the person over the phone said.

“Yes, I have to drag my stuff out to face them,” I said. The person on the other side of the call laughed.

“You're always the coward,” the person said over the phone.

I hate to be called a coward, although I know that I usually behave like one. In normal times, I could have been angry. But now I was in a dilemma to be angry.

“You knew I hate to be called that. But I will have to accept that insult for now,” I said in anger.

“I knew you hated the truth. We all know you are a coward, but we will help you. Just send your security to spray them with teargas, I will send the guards to help you chase them away, without people suspending you,” the voice said over the phone. I was relieved at his suggestion.

Just then the two staffs strode in,

“Your excellency, the youth insist on seeing you. If not, they won’t leave the office premise,” one of them said.

I ignored them waving my hands.

“I will talk to you later,” I said over the phone before dropping my phone. I faced the staff.

“Your Excellency, the youth refused to leave.  They insist on seeing you,” the second one.

“Send the security to use tear gas on them,” I said, not minding their looks.

They both looked stunned at my assertion.

“Sir, we can’t use teargas for a peaceful demonstration. It is against the law,” the first one said

“I know it is against the law but I can't see them,” I said.

“But,” the second one said. I smirked at him.

“Are you born with a but, aren’t you supposed to protect the president,” I said angrily. I got a lot of unproductive staff. If not for the party who nominated them as my staff I would have sacked them all.

“Pardon us, your excellency, we will sort it out,” they said as they strode out.

I sighed in relief. I was having a headache. I sat down trying to think of what else to do. But I found none. My mind drifted back. That is a story for another day.
