A WORD FROM NIMBI

We are like cats and dogs, as we stayed in our room after school. I didn't see Nimbi that day because of this rift.

To claim it all, our everyday gist and exercise weren’t done.

A knock on my door conscious me. I went to the door. I opened the door.

Sean stood by the door.

“Greeting lady Lily, I was told that I will be your bodyguard, it will be nice to work with you,” he said as he stood with hands akimbo like a man who is ready for war.

“Same with you,” he said.

“I will call you when I need you,” I said  

“No, I am to stay with you by your door,” he said.

I was stunned, does it mean that Nimbi will be staying by Chloe's door? I peeped to find out. I found him standing by Chloe's door just like Sean with mine.

I was about to return to my doorpost when Chloe came out of her door. She faced Nimbi. She dragged Nimbi in forcefully. 

I was outraged, my blood was boiling, I attempted to go to her and dragged Nimbi out of her room but Sean stopped me.

“It is useless to fight, just be patient, Nimbi will never have anything to do with her,” he said.

I went back into my room. I bolted the door. I laid on the bed thinking of the time I and Nimbi had spent together when we were little.

There was a knock on my door. 

“Who is that?” I asked as I still laid on the bed.

“Sean,” I heard.

“What do you want?” I asked 

“A word from Nimbi,” he whispered.

I hurried up, I scrolled to the door. I unbolted it. He stretched out a note to it.

“This is a message from Nimbi,” he said.

I peeped at Chloe's door, no sight of Nimbi. 

“Where is he?” I asked 

“Never worry, he will come to you at the right time. But for now, try to stay cool,” he said.

“I am asking where he is,” I said.

“He is with lady Chloe,” he said.

I was outraged again.

“I will plead with you to read the contents of this message before you take any action,” he said.

I stared at the paper which contained the message. I was softened. I went back in. I bolted the door. I sat on the bed.

I opened the paper. I smiled at it. It smiles like Nimbi himself. I smiled.

I was about to read the letter when the door was knocked.

“Who is it again?” I asked. 

“The maid ma,” the voice said. 

I stood up and moved to the door, I unbolted it. The maid walked in. 

She dropped my food. She got me some drinks from the fridge in my room. 

“Ma, do you need anything?” she asked as she bowed.

“No, you can go back to your work,” I said. She bowed and left.

I was undecided if I should eat or read the letter first.

Who supports that she should eat or she should read the letter first?.
