Chapter six

Everything happened so fast I couldn't comprehend. Colt was screaming something to me but it sounded so far away, women ran with children in their arms towards the pack house while the men and warriors shifted fighting off the rogues.

People and wolves scattered into chaos around us and I was suddenly jerked into the madness.

"Angel! Let's go!" I looked up to see Jen dragging me toward the pack house, I looked back for colt my stomach knotting with fear when I didn't see him. Frantically I searched for him, but through the mess it was impossible.

I let Jen drag me all the way into the basement safe room where all the mother and children were crowded in the metal room, snarls and growls could be heard. The mothers held the children heads while they wept.

I on the other hand couldn't sit here while my mate was putting his life on the line, I stood from my spot next to a woman and her three little boys.

"Luna?" She called for me but I didn't turn instead I walked towards the door, “Angel, stop!” Yanking my wrist from Jens grip I snapped, “I need to make sure he’s okay.” I rushed to the door and made sure it locked behind me. I ran out the house the back yard, the horrible metallic smell of blood filled my nostrils as a bloody battle happened before me.

From what I could see we were winning but I needed to find colt he needs to be alright. I followed his scent through the blood and giant wolves snapping and fighting each other, I manage to get through without being attacked.

That's when I found him, his midnight black wolf fighting off two rogues, his wolf was taller than me on all fours.

I watched the battle as a gush of wind pushed past me, colt must have smelled me because next thing I know he was shifting yelling at me.

"Angel get out of here its not safe!" He screamed over and over, but I couldn't move. I was stuck. A mangled brown rogue ran up behind colt and before anything could happen I shifted and charged at him seeing red. Running past colt I met the filthy Rogue in the air.

He tried to hurt what I cared about most, I lunged at the wolf who easily threw me off I slammed into a tree, I felt dizzy.

But I got back up this time going for his neck, the rogue was ripped from attack before I could strike, the wolf struggled in Colts grasp before its body dropped deadly still with a sickening crack.

"Angel!" I heard someone call as I slumped to the floor, something was stinging intensely on my back. Looking over my shoulder there was a sandy brown wolf standing over me, snapping and growling at me from over my head. I tried to get away, using what little strength I had before one of the pack warriors ripped the wolf from me.

Black dots filled my vision but before I passed out I watched intently as colt ran towards me. Green eyes filled with sadness and anger.

I felt myself shift back then everything went black.
