The hospital was starting to feel like a prison the longer my stay here seemed to go on. Colt watched over me like a hawk and, dismissing all his Alpha duties to his beta and I was honestly starting to feel bad for the poor guy. He seemed to be handling it well but past the jokes he makes when he brings Colt an update I know the beta is tired of caring for the entire pack.
Having Colt around all the time was great but I was starting to feel stir crazy, his constant love and attention warm me to my core but it was all overwhelming. I went from not ever thinking I could have a mate to have an alpha who doesn’t trust me alone for more than three minutes at a time.
“Colt can’t we have lunch in the cafeteria or even on the bench outside?” He pauses pulling out the containers of food Jen dropped off and looked as if he was truly contemplating if it was a risk or not. Rolling my eyes I hugged, “It’s been a good two weeks since there been an rogue sightings and you’re right here. I just need some fresh air, five minutes and we can come right back up.”
He finally caves and soon enough I’m enjoying turkey sandwiches under the actual sunshine for once. Colt is barely eating, eyes and ears taking in everything around us. Reaching over I take my hand in his.
“Come back to me Colt.” I whisper and his green orbs settle on me, they soften and I push his sandwich to him. Silently urging him to take a bite. We don’t let our hands go the rest of lunch before we head back up to my room.
“Ah! There you are. I was looking for you two.” The doctor was standing in my room scribing something on his notepad when we entered.
“Sorry doc, We had lunch on one of the bench in front of the hospital.” The doctor nods.
“Fresh air is good. Even greater news is you’ll be able to return home soon Luna, I’m hoping to discharge you before the end of the week.” Excitement and happiness flood through me and I’m more then excited to see our bed, to take a shower in our bathroom.
“And her stitches?” Colt ask, helping me settle into bed before tucking the cover over my legs.
“Yes, those will be removed tomorrow afternoon. Thankfully there should be minimal scaring and life can resume as normal Luna. Good luck. I’ll see you guys tomorrow.” I nod.
“Thank you.” He smiles again before exiting and I can’t help but grin at Colt.
“Some one is excited.” He chuckles and places our left over food on the side table before sitting at the of the bed.
“Yes I miss our bed.” I huff and punch one of the stiff hospital pillows to further prove my point. Colton barks out a laugh before nodding, “Yes, I agree.” I chuckle.
