Chapter 7: Have a Meal with Him

At noon, Keira appeared in the lobby of Sovereign Group, braving the blazing sun.

The driver took her to the underground parking lot and pointed to the car she had ridden in yesterday.

"Ms. Hunter, this is the car. Here are the keys. I'll be leaving now."

Keira took the keys, feeling a bit of a headache.

Earlier on the phone, Harrison had asked her, "Do you have a driver's license?"

She answered truthfully, "Yes."

She hadn't lied at all.

But having a driver's license and knowing how to drive seemed to be two different things.

She circled the black sedan, clicked her tongue, and prepared to get in.

But before she could press the key, the back door opened.

Harrison stepped out of the car.

Keira was surprised. "Mr. Parker, what are you doing in the car?"

"Isn't this my car? Can't I be in it?"

"Oh, I didn't mean that. I thought this car was going to be washed."

Harrison's face was cold. "Can't drive?"

Keira looked at him with a 'how did you know' expression.

Harrison spread his hands. "Give me the keys and get in."

He got into the driver's seat. She was about to sit in the back when Harrison calmly said, "I never play chauffeur."

She thought for a moment, then got into the passenger seat.

He started the car and drove off. Keira spoke politely, "I'm sorry for dirtying your car and making you take me to get it washed."

"Well, to avoid your apology, I'll give you a chance to do something for me before washing the car. We'll call it even."

"What is it?"

"Have a meal with me."

She looked at him. "A meal? I'd rather not. I'm not hungry, and it's not appropriate for me to dine alone with you."

"This car is very expensive. The carpet you dirtied yesterday costs tens of thousands. It's now unusable. I'll give you a fifty percent discount—five thousand dollars. Do you want to pay or have a meal with me?"

"Isn't this extortion?"

"I learned it from you yesterday. Don't you like to raise prices on the spot?"

She looked at him with displeasure. "Are all rich people as petty as you?"

"Haven't you heard? The richer people are, the stingier they get. So what's your choice? Pay or eat?"

"Eat." She was someone who could adapt to circumstances.

Seeing him smile with a hint of mischief, she felt something was off.

The car suddenly fell silent. She exhaled, feeling uneasy.

"Need some music?"

She shook her head. "No need."

"Then relax a bit."

"I am relaxed."

"Really?" He smirked as if mocking her.

She was annoyed. She really was relaxed.

"Mr. Parker, you're not interested in me because of what happened the night before last, are you?"

Harrison glanced at her sideways.

Seeing his look, she pouted. It seemed she was overthinking it.

"Haha, good to know."

The car stopped at the restaurant entrance. Harrison pointed to the back seat. "There's an outfit back there. Change into it."

"In the car?"

"It's safe here."

He got out and leaned against the car door, waiting.

Soon, she changed and got out of the car.

He looked her over with satisfaction in his eyes.

He took her wrist and naturally tucked it into his arm.

As they went upstairs together, he said, "Your task today is to smile and eat. Don't talk too much."

She wondered why it felt like today's meal wasn't just about eating.

Once inside the private dining room, Keira realized that their dining companion today was a woman.
