Chapter 4: Carrying Her

The car stopped at College Avenue, and Keira opened the door to get out.

Harrison told the driver, "Get Ms. Hunter an umbrella."

The driver handed an umbrella to Keira.

Keira opened the umbrella, got out of the car, and turned to Harrison, "Mr. Parker, thank you for today."

"You should show your gratitude through actions," Harrison said coldly.

Though his words made sense, Keira felt something was off.

"Take care," she said, stepping back before turning around and limping towards a nearby neighborhood.

Inside the car, Harrison instructed the driver, "Stop the car."

Once the car stopped, he opened another umbrella and got out, catching up to Keira and grabbing her arm.

Keira turned around, surprised to see him. "Mr. Parker?"

"Get back in the car."

"Why?"

"You're injured; you need to go to the hospital." How could this woman be so careless about her own body, not even realizing she was hurt?

Keira looked down at her leg. "I'm fine. I'll be better in a couple of days."

"Are you a doctor? Can you prescribe medicine for yourself? Get in the car." Without waiting for her response, he shoved his umbrella into her hand and lifted her up, carrying her towards the car.

Keira gasped, dropping the umbrella from her left hand.

Harrison ignored the fallen umbrella and placed her inside the car.

Keira panicked. "No, I can't go to the hospital. I have to go tutor."

"Tutor? So you only quit tutoring Benjamin?"

"I..." Keira was at a loss for words because it was true.

Harrison snorted and got into the car, coldly instructing the driver, "To the hospital."

Keira looked at the nearby neighborhood with anxious eyes but couldn't say anything since she felt guilty.

At the hospital, he took her to orthopedics.

The doctor asked which part of her body hurt. She blushed. "Nowhere... nowhere hurts."

The doctor glanced at Harrison with difficulty before saying, "Miss, you need to cooperate with the doctor for a check-up."

Harrison stood with his arms crossed and said coldly, "Give her a full examination."

Keira quickly interjected, "No need, no need. That would be too expensive. I don't want it."

"You must do it. I'll cover the cost. This is to prevent you from coming back later claiming that any discomfort you feel is a result of today's accident."

Keira looked at him with faint anger. "I would never do that."

"People are unpredictable. You lied about being busy with your thesis to avoid tutoring my brother but ended up tutoring someone else. Liars can't be identified by their appearance."

Keira was flustered. "I..."

She had done it to avoid awkward encounters.

The doctor wrote up the order and had a nurse take Keira for the examination.

As they left, Keira quietly asked the nurse, "How much will this check-up cost?"

The nurse glanced at her. "Over six thousand dollars."

Keira immediately grabbed the order from the nurse and limped back towards Harrison.

"I need to speak with you privately."

"Speak."

Keira bit her lip. "I really don't need a check-up. My leg is fine. It's not my leg that hurts; it's..."

She lowered her eyes, blushing.

Harrison frowned. "What is it?"

She looked up angrily and glared at him. "My perineum hurts."
