Chapter 10: Focus on Work

Keira left Louis Serrano's embrace, looking at him happily. "Louis, didn't you say you wouldn't be back for another two months?"

"My father broke his leg a few days ago, so I came back early."

Her face stiffened. "I see."

"Do you want me to take you to see him?"

She shook her head lightly. "I don't want to see him."

"You still can't forgive him?"

She sighed. "How could I forgive him? Besides, people should stay in their rightful places."

"Keira, don't be like that. I've never treated you as an outsider."

Keira nodded and smiled. "I know."

He turned to look at the Maybach that had just left in the distance.

"Was the person in that car Harrison?"

"Yes."

"How do you know him?"

"I'm his brother's tutor."

"You're still working? You haven't used the card I gave you?"

She remained silent, just smiling.

He sighed. "That's not Serrano family money; it's from me as your brother for you to use."

"But you're part of the Serrano family."

"Keira, don't be so stubborn. It makes me worry."

"There's nothing to worry about. I really like my current life; it's fulfilling."

"Then promise me you'll stay away from Harrison. He's dangerous, not someone you should get involved with, understand?"

She chuckled. "I know, I'm not stupid."

He ruffled her hair. "Have dinner with me tonight."

"You just got back; you must have a lot of social engagements."

"No engagement is more important than dinner with my sister. What time do your classes end this afternoon? I'll pick you up."

"No need, just send me the address and I'll go there myself."

Louis frowned. "You have work this afternoon?"

"Yes."

"You..."

She smiled and looked at her watch. "Louis, I have to go to class now. Send me the address for dinner."

She turned and jogged into the school.

Louis turned to look at the Maybach that had long disappeared.

Harrison wasn't someone who would idly drop Keira off at school.

What did this mean? Could he have found out something?

After her afternoon classes, she was the first to rush out of the classroom because she had to tutor Benjamin Parker.

The Parker family's villa was very grand, situated halfway up a hill.

It consisted of four two-story buildings arranged in a square.

The two front buildings housed the fourth young master, Benjamin, and the fifth young lady, Harriet Parker.

One of the back buildings used to be the second young master's residence, but he moved out after getting married.

The other back building was the main villa of the Parker family, where Harrison lived.

Since they all lived separately, Keira had only seen Harrison twice during her three months of tutoring Benjamin.

Once was during her interview when he gave her a few problems to solve, which she did successfully.

The other time was when Benjamin's test scores improved, and Harrison tried to give her an expensive-looking necklace as a reward, which she declined.

She never expected to have so much interaction with Harrison in these past few days.

To avoid him, she headed straight to Benjamin's residence as soon as she arrived at the Parker family estate.

At the door of Benjamin's study, she took a deep breath and knocked.

"Come in."

She froze for a moment at the door. That wasn't Benjamin's voice.

She opened the door and sure enough, she hadn't heard wrong.

Benjamin wasn't there; it was Harrison sitting at the desk.

"Mr. Parker, what are you doing here?"

Harrison replied calmly, "This is my house. I was waiting for you."

"Waiting for me? Do you need something from me, Mr. Parker?"

"Of course. From now on, you'll live here and focus on tutoring Benjamin."

"Live here?" she exclaimed.
