Chapter 6: Bedtime

Leila's POV

I stood there and observed Blake as he strolled away, his back tensed as if he could sense my eyes piercing through his back.

The girls continued squealing beside me and I rolled my eyes in annoyance, pivoting on my heels to face them.

"I don't know who to ship Lepter or Lake!" Sam squealed. I frowned deeply and leaned towards her, "what?"

"Your ship names! Leila and Peter or Leila and Blake."

I ignored them and pivoted on my heels before making my way towards the elevator. They followed in suit behind me, still murmuring on about how Blake and I would look so cute.

I blocked out their voices and toppled out of the elevator, past the glass doors and into the chilly night. The girls tumbled behind me and suddenly halted before they turned to one another, shared a look and then snapped their gazes towards me.

"How did you guys plan on getting there?" I asked curiously.

They both stared between one another before chuckling nervously, "a cab?" Midge chuckled nervously. I rolled my eyes and retrieved my keys from my pocket.

"You have a car?" Sam gasped, and I nodded my head in response as I marched towards it. Sam immediately called shotgun and Midge toppled in the back, a scowl on her face as she glared at Sam in the front seat.

I started the ignition and punched in the address to the bar.

This is a new bar in town, this is their grand opening and kids from ages 18 and upwards are allowed inside. I mean they could lose their license for allowing underage people in here but I guess the owner does not care that much.

When we arrived at our destination, we all toppled out of the car and I followed in suit behind Sam and Midge as they sashayed towards the bouncer, ignoring every bickering woman on the line to get in.

"Why aren't you girls on the line?" The bouncer asked and Sam parted her lips to reply, but the sultry British accent I was all too familiar with spoke up from behind me. "They're with me."

I snapped my head towards Peter and frowned. He ignored me and kept his gaze interlocked with the bouncer, whose face suddenly grew beet red.

"Oh Peter, sorry man," the bouncer chuckled as he stepped away from the entrance to let us in. Peter outstretched his hands and linked it with mine suddenly, then tugged me beside him as he whispered, "you look beautiful tonight."

"Thanks, you don't look too shabby yourself."

As we stumbled into the club, I couldn't help but gaze around my surroundings. Immediately I felt out of place just by staring at the confident women who strode against the dancefloor, glasses in their hands, grinding upon men.

It's not that I felt uncomfortable, but I wasn't like that. This felt more like a place for Sam.

"I'm going to go look for Drake!" Sam exclaimed as she winked towards me before sauntering towards a table on the other end of the bar where Damien and Drake were.

Midge turned towards me and I pouted, but she ignored it and shrugged. "I'm sorry, babe. Girl's got to do what she gotta do." She said before following in suit behind Sam.

"Since you're all to myself, maybe you Wanna get a drink?" He mumbled into my ear. I nodded my head stiffly as his hands enclosed around my waist and he tugged me forward.

We got to the bar, and I lowered myself down onto a stool as Peter leaned forward and smirked, "Sex On The Beach, please. And for you, ma'lady?"

"Same."

The bartender slid two glasses towards us and I thanked him before taking the straw in my mouth and sipping on my drink. I was not much of a drinker, but occasionally Reese and I would go to parties.

I miss Reese.

"So how you liking it so far?" Peter asked.

"It's okay so far!" I exclaimed over the loud music and he nodded his head. His lips parted to respond but a familiar voice sliced through his words and I arched my head towards it, my lips hanging low at the person leaned over the bar.

"Scotch on the rocks, please!"

And there he stood, his head tilted towards that blonde girl from his workplace and his best friend. I frowned deeply as I slid my gaze towards Peter who was eyeing me confusedly, "Hey, you okay?"

"My boyfriend--"

"Yeah Leila, I know you have a boyfriend you don't need to kee--"

"No! My boyfriend is here." As the words left my lips, his smile immediately faltered and he frowned deeply before clearing his throat. I hopped off the stool, pushed past Peter and ambled my way towards Reese angrily.

"So this is how you couldn't come to see me this week?!"

His head swivelled towards me and his lips parted in astonishment as he took in the sight of me standing there gazing up at him. "Babe?" He exclaimed, and I scoffed before spinning on my heels and rushing away from him as quickly as I could.

I didn't wait for him to catch up as I maneuvered my way in the crowd of sweaty bodies grinding up on me. Suddenly a pair of firm hands gripped my arm and tugged me forward.

I peered up at Reese, who dragged me across the bar and then to a secluded corner of the club. "Let go of me!" I snapped as I snatched my arm away from him and folded it over my chest.

"Babe I was going to tell you that I was gonna come for this party. . . just, I wanted to have some fun, and I was going to ask you to come with, but you hung up the phone before I could say anything."

"I thought you had work, you bloody liar!"

"It was a last-minute decision!

"Reese are you lying to me?" I mumbled. He shook his head vigorously and cupped my cheeks in his hands, "I'm so serious right now. You know I won't lie to you, I swear baby."

It tempted me to remove his hands from my face, but left it there and sighed as my forehead came crashing against his chest. "So are you still ditching me next week?" I asked, hoping that he'd say no.

He parted his lips to reply, but suddenly the sound of a familiar voice caught my attention. I frowned deeply, muttering to myself that it couldn't possibly be as I pivoted on my heels and searched for that familiar voice.

And then there he was, leaned against the wall, his arm draped over some female's shoulder as they conversed with one another. What the hell is he doing here? And who is that chick?

"You know him?" Reese asked as he followed my gaze. "Yeah, he's my English professor." I mumbled, and he chuckled, "damn he looks like a freaking kid." He exclaimed, and I nodded my head distractingly before averting my gaze from him.

"Come on, babe. Let's go have some fun."

~~~
I ended up introducing Sam and Midge to Reese and it appeared as if they liked him, but I highly doubt because they keep shipping me with Peter. And about Peter, I haven't seen him for the rest of the night.
"Babe, my friends and I are leaving, will you be okay?" Reese asked, and I nodded my head, a frown creeping onto my lips. I don't want him to go, hell I want him to stay with me the entire weekend, "I don't want you to leave."
He exhaled and leaned downwards before enclosing his hand around my cheek, "we'll talk next week, okay? I'm going to come see you, babe, don't worry."
Without warning, he smashed his lips down onto mine; his tongue finding its way past my lips as he passionately kissed me. "I love you," he exclaimed, and I nodded my head before pulling his head down for another kiss.
"I love you too." He planted a kiss against my cheek and bid me goodbye before sauntering towards his friends who were gazing at us. I averted eye contact with them and swiped my finger under my eye as a tear threatened to trickle down my cheek.
"Aww how cute! "
You've got to be kidding me!
"It's one o'clock, Leila. Why aren't you in your dorm room?" His teasing voice exclaimed, and I turned towards him, frowning deeply.
"Why aren't you at home Mr. Kingston?" I inquired. "None of your business, young lady." He smirked before his eyes flickered down to his watch.
"Bedtime!"
