Chapter 3

David was the one that found me, and David was the one that helped pick me back up and put me together. I begged and begged him to train me. For weeks I was literally on my knees asking him to teach me some sort of self defense. I could never feel that helpless again. If my parents happened to come across my path again, I wouldn’t allow them to defile me as they did for years. I would not be caught defenseless again. David was a hard sell on training because he was very old school, in believing that women shouldn’t be on the field and they should not fight. Ever. They were too delicate to handle the emotional turmoil that harming and killing people would leave on their soul. I refused to give up the idea, and several months later I finally got the answer I wanted.

He trained me to be the strongest, so that I'd never feel weak or threatened again. I owed him my life, literally, so I worked my ass off and climbed up the ranks. I can now say that I'm THE strongest fighter in the TBH.

A deep awkward chuckle pulled me out of my spiraling thoughts.

"Ah babe I know that, but sometimes you need to let a guy defend his woman. It demasculates us or whatever it's called." Clearly he isn't the brightest crayon in the box and education wasn’t his top priority in life, but it is what it is.

"Baby, you mean emasculate, and yes I suppose I could but where's the fun in that." I pat his cheek before turning around to address the room.

Allowing them to continue to stare at something that clearly was none of their business was not going to fly with me, so I slowly but surely stare each and every person down until they look away. That is until I met a pair of steely green eyes, glaring back at me. I raise a brow and smirk, daring him to continue this showdown.

Another minute passes before some broad rubs herself all over him causing him to look away first. Typical of him, with a disgusted chuckle, I move on to the person next to him only to meet a pair of eyes identical to my own brown ones.

Devon's eyes widen with shock at seeing his baby sister for the first time in almost three years. I bet he is shocked, I know that what he is seeing now is vastly different from the girl he left behind. I changed nearly everything about my appearance when I reinvented myself. My once blonde hair is now red, and my attire is the complete opposite.

As the teen he remembers me being, I dressed very conservative. I don't think I'd ever worn anything shorter than knee length. Now I wore jeans that cling to me like a second skin and accentuated all my curves and paired them with knee high boots, and a dark blue top that dipped into a low v.

I did, however, always make sure that none of the goods were hanging out. I did like to show off my body, but not look trashy. I like to think of myself as classy, and I believe I pulled it off without looking the slut every one thought me to be. I was proud of what I had accomplished and what I did with myself. As far as what every body else thought of me…. I could not care less. They could have their opinions. I dressed for myself and to make myself feel good, not them, or anybody else.

Devon had opened his mouth and was about to take a step towards me, when the front door flew open and off of the frame.

My hand instinctively flew behind my back and grabbed my gun, pointing right at the person aiming at me.

Once the guns made an appearance the people at the party had immediately dropped to the ground, petrified. Not me. I was trained for this, and I wasn't the least bit scared. I knew this fool, and I knew I could easily take him.

"Well lookie at who I found. If it isn't little Miss Dakota… Or wait what is it they call you on the streets?Should I call you Cobra? That is what you go by isn’t it?" Gray snickered thinking he was just hilarious. Gray was the leader of our rival gang The MOE, money over everything.

"Honestly, it really doesn't matter what you call me. Though it is some what flattering that you know of me. I've also gotta point out that you obviously know exactly who I am. Considering you said both of my known names. You clearly came here looking for me." I said with an embellished sigh.

“Pst, Dakota. Be quiet.” I hear being loudly whispered from the direction of Devon and Jesse. Discreetly shaking my head at them I never take my eyes off Gray.

"How could I not know you!? You have single handedly killed off a third of my men and made sure to render my second in command useless by mailing me his severed hand!" Gray yelled.

I simply shrug my shoulders in response. "He shouldn't have been stealing from us, so I taught him a lesson he wouldn't soon forget in the biblical sense. You know an eye for an eye all that."

"You really had to go and cut his whole hand off though?" He asks astonished that I took it that far, I suppose.

"Well anyways, I came here to get revenge and kill you. Seeing as how you're surrounded by my men I think I'll make this short and sweet." He aims his gun at my forehead again.

"Ah, ah, ah, not so quick. You should know that being the second in command of the blood hounds, as well as being cobra, I always come prepared." I snap my fingers and am instantly surrounded by my men with David right beside me.

"I will ask you this once. Are you sure you want to do this right now Gray? Cause it looks like we've got you surrounded and beat, plus you know I NEVER miss my mark." I say and just to drive my point home I drop the barrel of the gun down quickly and shoot the ground an inch away from his foot. This was a very strategic part of my exit plan. It won’t be long before somebody calls the police forcing everybody to quickly evacuate and defusing the situation with, hopefully, no casualties.

He jumps back with a squeal making me erupt into laughter. "Oh God! You sounded like a little girl. You better turn around and march right back out that door before you lose the rest of your dignity."

Cocking his gun he maintains his aim at me. “Jokes on you. I don’t give one single shit about my dignity and what these kids think.”

Just as I think that it’s all going to hit the fan, I hear the pounding of several sets of boots coming up the front steps.

"Oh for shit's sake! What now?!" I yell exasperated.

"Do not get that tone with me Missy. You know I'll shank your ass." The moment I hear his voice all my tension leaves my body.

"Aaron! To what do I owe the pleasure, bestie." He scowls at the nickname, but gives me a hug none the less.

"Thought I would personally give you a heads up that the cops are about five minutes out.” He yells causing the house full of armed people to scramble out the door. All bad blood momentarily forgotten as my plan falls into place.

“But anyways, it’s just business as usual. We need you to make a house call." He raises his eye brow giving me a pointed look.

"This can't wait? I just got back from a house call yesterday." I whine.

"Sorry Missy, but it can't. You need to go now." He pats my back then quickly leads me out the front door with the rest of our gang. Just as I hear the sirens blaring a couple blocks over.

On the way out I couldn't help but make eye contact with Devon and Jesse. They both have a look of pure horror covering their face at what they now know I have become. I throw them a saucy wink and a smirk leaving them with their mouths hanging wide open in shock.
