Chapter 18

Krystal POV

“Are you jealous?” I ask and he stop from grasping my hand.

“Oh bro, you’re hurting her,”

The both of us turned around to where the voice is and see Nathan leaning on the door frame.

“You better let her go” he added, staring at Lux

Lux let go of my wrist and walk toward Nathan.

“Who do even think you are?” Lux ask

“Her knight and shining armor…”

A fire showed in Lux palm and he was about to release a fire toward Nathan, but a water dragon show up and eat all the fire that Lux created.

Nathan stop leaning on the wall “Water and fire doesn’t get along,” he lean into Lux ear and whisper “Don’t drag anyone without their permission fire boy,”

It was a whisper,, but it was enough for me to hear it.

“Let’s go” Nathan said and walk away

I ran towards him and for the last time I look at Lux, his hand forming into a fist. Maybe Nathan hurt his ego.

The both of us walk in silence until we got into the room.

“Where have you been?” Laura ask

“Somewhere out of nowhere,” Nathan answer

Laura just shrugged and go back to her sit.

“Laura, what am I going to do next month? I didn’t know how to fight,” I said worrying for myself.

“Just remember how you survive inside the forest on the training ground room,” she answers “We have a practice after school with others so we do some sparing,”

The class ended and we go to the training room.

“What do you want to try? Guns? Sword? Bow and Arrow?” Ace asks pulling a lever and a cabinet of weapons showed up.

“Guns” I replied

He pick a gun and give it to me “Try to shoot those moving card boards” He point his fingers to the moving card board and I try to shoot it but I miss all of it.

“It’s okay you’re just a beginner I can teach you” Laura comfort me and she teaches me how to hold the gun and when to shoot and when I try I shoot some of it.

“We will give you a number it is an order from Miss Valerie. Laura 7, Dave 6, Venise 3,Ashley 5, Kris 10, Cedric 8, Krystal 4, Lux 1, Nathan 9 and I’m number 2. Remember your numbers because after the activity they will give you some points,” Ace announce and after that we start the training.

“Do you know what kind of charm you have?” Laura ask while we are putting on our gear

“Not yet”

“Then lets find it out. We can use the other room” Laura said and we walk on the room that is on the left side

“Ace we will use this room!” Laura ask Ace permission and Ace just nodded so we just go inside and Laura turn the lights on

“We will do the basics since your not that familiar using your charm”

She take a shield that is made of iron

“This is a ordinary shield that is used for trainings or activities that is being held here. Try to break it into two” she said

“Wh-What am I supposed to do?” I ask

“Just put your hand up and imagine a ball of fire coming out or any force your palm can release”

I tried to do what Laura told me and focus on letting out my charm but minutes past and nothing come out of my palm.

“Hmm… Something is wrong” she said and walk towards me “You should straighten your arm more and don’t think of anything just focus on releasing your charm”

She fix my arm and make it straight but my arm is shaking.

“Stop shaking” she said

“I can’t stop it. What if I can’t do it?” I said worrying about if I can make what she’s saying or not

“Believe in your self. I know you can do it”

She pick the shield up and I try again to release my charm. I imagine a fireball that is building on my palm and I close my eyes.

BOOM!

A loud crack echo on the rooms and when I open my eyes the shield in broken into two.

“You did it!” Laura cheer and the both of us laugh in happiness. The door open and Ace enter

“What happen here?!”

The both of us look at him and laugh at his reaction.

“Krystal know what her charm is”

“Good job” Ace said

“Thanks!”
