Chapter 05: Marriage Proposal I

At Davies Mansion:

Jasper and his family... members were seated in the living room past their dinner.

Suddenly Elina started talking.

“Jasper, I want to discuss something with you,” said Elina.

Jasper just hummed in response. Everyone present in the living room was anxiously waiting for Elina to speak.

“Jasper you know avi is a small boy, and he needs a mother's love,” Elina said

“Mom,

What do you want to say? " asked Jasper.

“I want you to get married. So, that avi will get a mother and a life partner for you” said Elina, shocking Jasper to the core.

Everyone was also shocked listening to Elina.

“Mom, what are you saying? I don't want to marry anyone” said Jasper while controlling his anger.

“You have to, Jasper. You have to move on in your life and start living your life like you used to live four years, not like this. You are not living your life willingly Jasper you are just living like a robot not talking to anyone and working day and night. You should start living again, and it is only possible if you get married to someone and also avi need mother love he is still a small child think about it Jasper” said Elina feeling helpless seeing her son's gloomy life.

“Mom I understand what you want to say, but I can't marry anyone because for me Samira was my wife, Samira is my wife, and she will remain my wife until my last breath. I am here for avi mom I can't be his mother, but I will try my best to fulfil the void created by Samira's absence” said Jasper.

Elina was looking at him with a 'please agree with me' expression.

“Marrying someone is not a solution, mom.

What will you do if that woman will marry me only for my money and status?

What will you do if she fails to give mother's love to Avi? " asked Jasper.

Elina remained quiet.

“What happened, mom?

Why are you silent now?” again asked Jasper.

“I just want your happiness Jasper I can't see you like this please once listen to me for once,” requested Elina.

“Mom I can do anything for you other than this,” said Jasper.

“Samuel try to persuade him,” requested Elina.

“Elina we can't force him so just leave the topic for now,” said Samuel.

Elina eyed Alina to say something, but Alina remained silent.

Elina signed in defeat and walked away as no one from the family was ready to support her.

Jasper with avi left to their room. All family members also dispersed to their respective rooms.

In Jasper room:

Jasper and avi stepped into their room.

“Avi come let's sleep, I am sleepy,” said Jasper. Nodding at him, Avi slept.

After some time Jasper mobile started ringing.

Jasper saw the time it was showing 11 O clock with a frown he attended the call.

Phone conversation:

“Hello sir, This is the manager of the Arkney branch sorry for the inconvenience, but it's important. I tried to call Derek sir, but his mobile is not reachable” said the person from another side.

“Ok,

What is it? “ Asked Jasper.

“Sir, some employees are causing a ruckus,” said the manager.

“You should have handled it,” asked Jasper.

“Sorry sir but they are not listening to me” replied the manager.

“Ok I will see it,” said Jasper.

Jasper hangs up the call

Jasper phoned Jessie as Derek's phone was not reachable.

“Hello, What happened?

You phoned at this hour” asked Jessie.

“Sorry Jessie, it is an important matter, pass the mobile to Derek” replied Derek.

“What happened Jasper? “ asked Derek.

“Derek, Arkney branch manager, phoned and informed us that there is a problem in that branch.

Arrange tickets to Arkney for tomorrow and also for avi. I am taking him with me” said Jasper.

“Ok I will,” said Derek. Jasper hangs up the call.
