Chapter 03: Glimpses Of Past I

After hopping in the car Jasper started the engine. 

"Dad, why are you keeping secret about the place where we are going every year on mom's birthday? " asked Avi, being confused and his little brain is very curious to know the reason. 

Jasper answered concentrating on driving. 

"It is the place where your mother spent her life from her childhood because of this reason we go alone" said Jasper while gulping his pain. 

Although Avi did not understand but nodded his head and the rest of the journey was silent. 

After a few minutes both reached their destination a building of three floors and a big garden at the back side of the building.

Both headed towards the building with his workers carrying some big boxes. when they entered a woman in her late fifties greeted them. 

"Happy birthday Jasper and Avi" said that lady while taking Avi in her arms. 

"Thank you Aunt" said Avi while hugging her. 

"Thank you Stella Aunt," said Jasper. 

"Happy birthday Jasper Uncle" said many children of different age groups. 

"Thank you to all, " said Jasper. 

Jasper started distributing gifts to them which he brought with him.

After receiving gifts from Jasper all thanked him and asked Avi to play with them.  Avi looked at his father for permission. Jasper nodded with a small smile. Avi left to play with them. 

"Thank you Jasper for helping us," said Stella. 

"It's nothing Aunt you gave shelter to Samira and also these children. I am just doing what my Samira used to do" saying Jasper with an expressionless face and left from there without waiting for her reply. 

Stella signed seeing his retiring figure. He was not the person she met years ago but she can do nothing other than praying for his happiness. 

Jasper came to the garden where children were playing. He sat on the beach and took a deep breath to control his emotions.

This was the place where Samira spent most of her life. She was an orphan. Stella brought her to this orphanage when she was two years old. Her parents died in an accident and her relatives were not ready to take her responsibility. 

Jasper's thoughts were disturbed by Avi who was calling him. 

"What happened Dad?" asked  Jasper in lost thoughts. 

"Nothing you, go and play," said Jasper nodding at him, Avi left. 

Again Jasper's thoughts drifted into the past when he first met Samira. 

Flashback:

Jasper pov:

I have to hurry. I just now came from a meeting and now I came to know that I have to go to a college for graduation ceremony and guess what my dear friend Mr. Derek Brown forgot to inform me. 

Such a responsible PA right. 

What can I do?

 I have to suffer with him as he is my best friend. I can't fire him either. Pity on me but now I have to speed up my pace.

"Hey Jasper sorry I forgot to inform you before"Derek said as he entered my cabin. 

"I will see you later but now we have to leave" saying I stood up to leave. 

I reached the parking area with Derek. I got into the car and made my way to our destination. 

After some time we were standing in front of the college where I am going to attend as a special guest for the graduation ceremony.
