Chapter three

"Help me! Some one!" I felt the voice come from many different angles making my head start to spin. I take a deep breathe and let it out slowly, focusing my senses onto the scent. Pushing out the frustrations and distractions I focus and soon finally, I was able to pinpoint one location and followed the sounds, dodging tree branches and leaping over fallen logs.

A young girl with blonde hair and green eyes was bound to a tree. A look of fear overcame her face while more tears streamed down her cheeks, her scent floated to me and I could tell she was a wolf, but her scent was more, cleansed. She was from a pack and looked no older than ten.

I quickly rushed to her, falling on my knees in front of her into the shade I pulled my hood back. I

could see some of the fear start to diminish from her eyes.

"It’s okay, I'm going to help you." I smiled up at her, trying desperately to untie the strangely good knots.

"Not so fast." A gruff voice rippled from behind me, fear crept from my stomach up to my neck making the hairs stand on end. Turning swiftly, I came face to face with a rather large man with bulging muscles and a rotten smile. Two men behind him mocked his features.

I looked over at them, weighing my options. I had to get the little girl out of here under any circumstances, looking up I watched as a large cloud pass by the sun that will surely give me enough time.

Turning to the little girl I smile sweetly at her. She looked up at me with fear-stricken eyes.

"I'm going to get you out of here okay?" She nods her head vigorously.

"Good. But I need you to keep your eyes closed, no matter what. Can you do that for me?" She nodded again before sealing her eyes shut tightly.

Turning back to the men I felt my anger serge out of control I could feel my fangs and canines grow and my eyes shift color and my claw elongate. Fear flew over their faces, but it was too late.

I already had the leader’s heart in my hands and the next ones at the tip of my fingers, I moved at inhumane speed giving them no time to react.

Blood covered my hands which I quickly wiped on my cloak not wanting to scare the little girl. I go back to her before the sun comes back out, I quickly unbound her, I pull my hood back on.

"You can open now." I murmur once I make sure we are far enough from the bodies. She opened her pretty green eyes, smiling at me she launched herself into my arms.

"Thank you." I hesitantly hug her back.

"You're welcome, how about we get you back to your pack?" She nods happily, I let her take my hand and start to lead the way.

"What's your name?" She looks up at me.

"Danielle but you can call me Dannie." I smile down at her.

"I'm Rosslyn." I smile brightly at her.

"I'm the daughter of alpha ad Luna Dawson of the royal pack." She smiles brightly and proudly. Shock and fear grabbed onto my heart and latches on comfortably. If I even step foot on the royal land I am sure, I will be ripped to shreds. Rosslyn's big curios eyes made me push those feelings into the back of my mind while I let her guide me.

"Why do you were that cloak?" She tilts her head in confusion just adding onto her adorableness. "Well the sun is very harmful to my skin; I can get very hurt."

The little girl nods and we walk on in silence, the fried leaves and grass making a satisfying crunch with each step. We walked for a good half an hour before our small conversation is cut short when we stop in front of the royal pack border line. Rosslyn looks up at me, seeming to read my thoughts she spoke.

"You can't come, can you?" I shake my head, with a pout she pulls my hand so that I am squatting in front of her bringing me down to her level.

"Thank you Dannie, I hope I see you again." She smiles and I smile back unable to resist her big hopeful eyes, nodding I watch her cross over into her pack territory and safely make it to the castle before I make my way back home.

Before it hit me, I forgot the steak.
