I hate to admit it but He looked good, like drool worthy good. His blonde locks were pulled back into a bun with little hairs out framing his face, his blue green piercing eyes staring right into my own. The alpha could clean up mice I’d give him that.
My mouth ran dry and suddenly my train of thought was off the rails, my tongue was heavy, and I found myself opening and closing my mouth like a fish. Heat rushed to my cheeks and I know I’m Successfully making a fool of myself.
He smiled down at me, he was obviously enjoying watching me flap around like a fish out of water but here he was a sly as a fox and as cool as cucumber. "Would you like to dance?" I swallowed, trying to form words. Instead, i nodded not trusting my voice to carry out the simple sentence.
He held out his hand to me and when I took it, I felt the sparks instantly, making me gasp and jump back in surprise. I snatch my hand back from the odd feeling and stumble on the obnoxiously long dress.
I bumped into a man who glared at me, "i-im sorry." I stuttered, but that only made him glare at me harder. He was clearly an alpha and I could feel my own beast suddenly chuckling at the thought of ripping this alpha in half where he stands. Thankfully the alpha that doesn’t want to kill me steps in, placing a hand onto the mans shoulder and pushed slightly. “Enjoy the party, Cyril.” Cyril tosses me a now curios glance before blending into the crowd walking away and I let out a breath as my beast settles back into its domain.
"Hey it’s OK." He tried to comfort me, but I started to freak out, his touch sent sparks around my body that made me feel something, something I have never felt before.
"Don't touch me." I cowered away from his hands, a look of hurt flashed through his eyes. The glaring man was long gone into the crowd now but other were starting to look.
"Danielle is everything okay?" My grandmother's sweet voice calmed me; she rubbed my back while I tried to calm down.
"Oh, your majesty I didn't see you." My eyes bulged and I watched as my grandmother bowed before the man with the sparky touches.
"Hello Ellis." He replied a tight smile grazing his lips.
"I see you met my granddaughter Danielle." She smiled gesturing towards me, I watched in confusion as these two talked like old friends.
"Yes I have, she's my mate." Well he didn’t wait to blurt that out.
My grandmother’s eyes widened, then she squealed. I jumped and tried to pull away from the conversation but my grandmother hand an iron grip.
While I was utterly confused.
I guess he noticed my face.
"Why don't we take this to a more private stature." My grandmother nodded and we followed him through the corridors of the castle.
We stopped in front of a large mahogany door, he pushed it open and let us inside the large furnished office.
He gestured to the huge leather chairs, I hesitantly took a seat my grandmother following suit. She looked way to happy.
But I had one question what the hell is a mate?
