Chapter 2 - Accepted In Her New Work

"What the heck are they doing here? Of all the places in the Earth, we're going to be put in the same place?!" Agnes gasped and immediately turned her back so they won't see her.

She's been thinking of this kind of outcome but she didn't expect that it will be this early. She still has to prepare herself and when that time comes, she's sure that no one could beat her again. That she will be ahead of them and they couldn't reach her. She has to prove herself that she can do better in life without them.

"They were the competence of this company. How come they are here?" The girl on her side whispered.

Her brows frowned and slowly turned her back on them again. They were... TPC's competence? Well, should she be surprised? She knew her fake parents that much and they're arrogant and selfish. No wonder they will always be on the hot seat of competing other companies.

"Look! Isn't that Mr. Jash Eubert Flarion? He's Ms. Eve Labrado's boyfriend, right?" The other girl asked her friend.

"Yeah. They've been together for five years already. I'm confused my aren't they married. They look so perfect on each other," her friend answered.

Agnes doesn't want to hear any conversations regarding them so she walked closer to the line, not minding if she has replaced someone. Their fault! They kept on gossiping on their arrival as if they were the most famous family in the world. If she knew, they were just on the tip of her fingernail.

"Please go back to your line, everyone. Wait for a while because Mr. Tappocan has visitors. I couldn't tell you how long it is but please wait patiently," One of the staffs announced in the speaker.

She sighed and find some vacant chair to sit while waiting for their talk to finish. It even took half an hour before his visitors left and she's been looking around to avoid seeing them. Though, she could say that half of the applicants seems to be bored while waiting and went home immediately. They weren't as many as before but she's glad that the interview will go faster.

When her number was called, she fixed herself again and walked towards the door where they will be interviewed. She wasn't nervous nor scared whatever questions they prepared for her. She's ready for it and knew that she will answer it on the spot.

"Your resume looks good, Ms. Labrado. Wait, your surname sounds familiar. How are you related to the Cheongha Group Corporation that was leaded by Mr. and Mrs. Labrado?" The manager asked her.

She shook her head immediately."I don't know them. I just got home from US yesterday and has to find a job for myself. My visa got expired so, yeah."

"Okay. You didn't put your status here. Are you married? Single? Taken? Or a single mom?" he asked again.

She gulped continuously."I-I'm... single."

As much as possible, she doesn't want someone to know that she has two kids. Its just... a secret for her. There's so many questions if she will tell them about her kids. Just some hassle.

She was so happy when she got chosen for the final evaluation. There were just twenty who passed the elimination and they will choose ten applicants for the final round. Just like a contest or something.

"Ms. Labrado. What is the most important thing in the world for you and why?" The CEO of the company she's applying, Mr. Topaccan, asked her for the final question.

She just gave him a small smile."Simple, sir. It's love. Because it is the only thing that last long even if majority of the people don't believe it. It can't be bought by money or can be exchanged by jewelries. As for me, I don't have a family, friends, or even a boyfriend. No one treated me as one. But I do believe in love everytime I go to church and pray. Love is the finest thing in the world that cannot be seen but can be felt."

"I'm amazed on your answer. Its obvious that its all from you heart. Well, I rejected thousands of applicants because they always fail to make me believe on their answers. They may have high standards or good resume, I'm still finding for some capable answers. They always answer me money, most of them." He sighed but then smiled at her.

"Money is important, yes. But I was thinking that if I already have too much money, then I could easily get everything I need. There's no challenge in it. I've been like this in my whole life. Struggling for everything just to get it and experiencing a lots of sacrifices and efforts just to make it happen. I'm used to it even though sometimes I think of surrendering. So love it is, is my final answer," Agnes smiled widely.

Mr. Topaccan can't help but to smile back."You're amazing. I like you. I-I mean---to be one of my workers here. We'll I'm also looking for a secretary but I haven't posted a poster yet. Maybe if you're interested, you can be one."

"Don't get me wrong sir but I preferred to experience hard things first before climbing to the top. Others might think bad on me for getting a nice spot in this company that fast. I don't also want to ruin your image, sir," she answered politely.

He nodded in an instant."Sure. You're hired now. You can start you work by tomorrow."

"Really? Thank you, sir. That's a pleasure for me."

Agnes happily left the company and stopped in the KFC to buy foods for her twins. She has to celebrate this with them because finally, she won't struggle in finding some part time jobs just to have enough savings. She's surely sure that she could give a beautiful life to her kids. They were turning five next next month and after that she will send them to the preschool.

JASH sighed while facing on his laptop, having a hard time on his works. He has to help his sister in handling their company so it would be easier but he also have to help Eve on hers. All of that was killing him and she's not even helping on it that in the first place he has nothing to do with her works.

"Babe, what design do you like? I'm planning to change the design of my fingernails because I think its not nice anymore," Eve annoyingly bothered him again.

She's always into fashion and he hates it. Whatever things she likes, she has to consult him over and over again. Its has been a tiring routine for him.

"Just choose what you think is the best, Eve. Besides, you're the one who will wear it so I'm out of it," he boredly answered.

She turned off his laptop in an instant, a personality of her that he never likes."You're my husband so I have to ask for you opinion. C'mon, don't be so cheesy."

"I am not. I'm just irritated of your actions and I'm so tired of it. Why won't you just do your part as my wife, huh?" he asked her emotionlessly.

She scoffed."What do you think I am doing?! I'm always taking care of you, watching over you... and loving you every seconds that passed. What else was wrong on it?!"

"You! You're the wrong thing that happened in my life, Eve. If you did not came to my life, then I wouldn't be this mess," he hissed.

A tear escaped from her eyes and looked away that made him stunned."If I didn't help you before, if my parents did not, do you think your company could lift up again?! This marrige we had is for convenience only, that was true. But I love you mo---"

"Then, I don't love you. Don't ever push things that is very impossible to happen. I'm done with this," he walked out and slammed the door.

Jash messed up his hair while sitting in the bermuda grass of their house. Yes, they're living together for four years already and its really a hell for him. Well, at least Agnes has managed to left here because of him.

Suddenly, he started thinking her again. He even hallucinated that he saw him earlier in the TPC Corporate Management. He's getting crazier than ever and that's because of her. Whenever he's going to do a lot of things, he still manage to think of Agnes.

Who wouldn't be? He's still in love with that girl. His first love.

"Did you argued with Eve again, Jash? You really can't love her back, right?" Manang Sara said, the only maid that they have because she's the only one who can handle Eve's personality since she was young.

He sighed and massaged the bridge of his nose."I'm getting suffocated here, Manang. I want to breath but whenever I'm with her, I could not."

"Its because you haven't moved on from Mira, don't you?" She caught him off guard.

Yeah. And he won't move on from her not because he want to but even his heart always shouts her name.
