The Hidden Heir

"What kind of place is this, mom? Why is so hot in here?" asked her four years old daughter Kyrie.

Agnes was struggling to carry their things since no one fetch them in the airport. She get back without anyone knowing. Who would like to know her arrival if she doesn't have any friends nor a family. But anyways, she doesn't need any one of them. She can live without those.

"I did some research and there's no snow in here, lil sis. They use an electric fan or an aircon to feel cold," Kyrie's twin brother said, Kyron.

She was quite amazed by her son because he could easily understand everything in the internet at a young age. Its either he had it by himself or he inherited it from his... father.

"You guys hold mom's hand and don't ever let go, okay? There are so many people here and you might get lost," she reminded them.

They road a taxi to the apartmet she's living before, hoping that no one has lived in her place. After so many years, she won't be surprised if the owner of it was new since she bid goodbye to an old woman last time.

Agnes was so glad after knowing that her place was being reserved for her even though the owner is new. It must be the old woman before whom she's close with. Thanks to her, she got a discount on paying her apartment every month.

"This isn't as big as our house in US, mom. Is this what you call as home in the Philippines?" Kyrie as always, full of questions in her mind.

She smiled at little to her daughter."No. There are also houses here that was bigger than ours in US. But mommy has to earn money first before buying a new house, okay? Remember, I left my job in there so I have to find a new one here."

"We have to understand our situation, Kyrie. C'mon, let's just play." Kyron gently pulled her hands to the living room.

She couldn't help but to smile because of that. Even if they're struggling and almost have nothing, she was never been upset because of them. They were her inspirations why she continued living although everyone turned their back on her.

Agnes left the twins and went to her room to browse in the internet. She has to look for a job as soon as possible for their personal needs. Her savings as a waiter amd a part time deliverer in US was just a small amount and she's using it day by day. If she can't find a permanent job for the next two days, she's sure that they will starve.

"Kuya Kyron, I want to eat a pie. Does mom bought any of it?"

Agnes heard Kyrie asked her brother when she was about to pass by on the living room. Her daughter's favorite food is a pie yet she forgot to buy it.. and also she's budgeting their money for the next days.

Kyron shrug off his shoulders."I don't know. But if mom haven't, don't force her to buy, okay? We're still adjusting in our new life here."

She somehow felt a little pang on her chest after hearing their conversation. She won't deny the fact that she can't give them what they want sometimes and that's making her heart ache. Except for the fact that she doesn't have any permanent job, they don't have a father to sustain their needs.

But whatever it is, she will do everything to give them what they wanted without the help of anyone... especially from their father. He doesn't know that the twins exist, anyways.

"What does my babies want, hmm?" Agnes showed up while smiling at them.

Kyrie gave her a wide smile while Kyron just gave her a half-smile. They really have a big differences based on their actions. Kyrie is quite sensitive and transparent. She's soft and cared everyone closest to her. And Agnes was afraid that if ever they will have a chance to meet their father, Kyrie will easily gave him his heart even if its unsure that he could love his daughter back.

Kyron on the other hand, has a secured heart and serious outside but also soft inside. Unlike his twin sister, he don't easily trust or get closer to someone. It will took him weeks or even a month to feel comfortable with that someone but still he won't give his full trust.

"I want ice cream, mommy!" Kyrie raised her hand.

She smiled and turned her gaze to Kyron."What does my son wants? C'mon, mommy has still money for the both of you."

She did not lie on that part. Everything she has was all for them. She kept it so she could still give them their needs... even if there's nothing left on her.

"Really mom? I thought we're saving money for us," he's confused.

She nodded and messed up his hair a little, which made him winced."Of course. But I also have savings for the both of you. Mommy's not forgetting what I've promised."

"Okay. Just a mocha flavor cake, one slice. Can you?" He's too careful with his words.

"Hmm. Just wait me here, okay? Lock the door once I come out from the door. Don't open if it's not me. I'll call you outside whenever I arrived. Watch over Kyrie, baby." She kissed his forehead and so with Kyrie.

She may be overprotective to her kids but no one could blame her if she's just being too careful. People nowadays couldn't be trusted. She only have the two of them and she considered them as her precious treasures.

When she arrived at the convenience store 30 meters from her apartment, she didn't expect to see Eve in there. Its been five years since she gave her half-sister a farewell goodbye. And now she's seeing her again in person that is probably disgusting for her. Thinking how she seduced her ex-boyfriend makes her vomit so hard.

How low class!

Since she doesn't want to have connection with anyone from her past, she didn't waste her chance to take a glance at her and walked away after. She has nothing to do with them anymore. For her, they were like a traitor that shouldn't be kept alive in this world.

She was about to finally leave that place because it sucks her seeing that bitch, she saw a poster that was hiring for a job. She got curious into it and read the whole details. It was all about a work in the company. A highschool graduate can do and she's a third year college completer. Sad to say, she didn't finish studying because she really can't resist living with them and her ex-boyfriend broke up with her that time which leaded to stress and uncontrollable health disease.

She roamed her eyes around to make sure that no one's around and ripped the poster to bring it back home. While making her way, she saw a lot of posters like what she's holding so she was thinking that it might be a big company and was hiring for workers.

"After eating, wash yourself and just watch cartoons, okay? Mommy already found a new job and I'll try if it suits me. Call me if you need anything, babies." Agnes kissed both of their cheeks before going inside her room.

It says that she will just complete the following requirements and come to the TPC Corporate Management at 7:00 o'clock in the morning. The due date is on tomorrow so she has to prepare it all immediately. She can't miss that job. It also says that they will only get 10 applicants that will prove to them how important work is. Though, they didn't put the question for the surprise briefing.

"Kyron, always look after your sister, okay? Kyrie, behave and don't make your twin mad. Mommy has to go to the interview so I could get a job. If that happens, I will take the both of you to an expensive restaurant and we'll eat all we can. Is that clear?" She pinched their cheeks.

Kyrie happily nodded."Yes, mom. I'll do it. Take care too."

"I already cooked your lunch if ever that I'll go home late. Don't play with the kitchen utensils to avoid any danger. I placed your foods in the lower part of the refrigerator so you can get it easily. Can you manage doing that?" She fixed herself and look in the mirror for the last time.

"Yes, mom. Got it. We'll be okay here. Don't worry," Kyron assured.

She smiled and kissed them again before getting out of their apartment. She took a taxi and said the exact address of the company. When she get there, she was given a number where she will be called if its already her turn. Some of them came early so she only got the 15th place.

But the line of applicants suddenly scattered and looked at the back, whispering to each other. She was confused and turned her back but it just made her blood boil.
