Feather

CHAPTER 09 | Feather |

When I got to the room I immediately dropped myself on the chair. There is no one else besides the transfer, Shun Clark Tuazon. The guy was always early so I always reached out.

He was a quiet man so I never thought to talk. I just sat quietly and studied for the quiz later, I studied it last night but I want to study again.

In less than a few minutes, someone approached my man. He is in complete uniform and has a mirror on his face, if I'm not mistaken they are classmates, older brother.

"Ah, E-Elaisle," he once lowered a flower to my table. "Good morning," he said before running away. I was just shaken, obviously a little and that man was about to be shaken.

"Nax, there are flowers again! You can have a garden before Valentine's day, you really want to flirt! How to be you!" I was stunned when Lian entered the room loudly. Her energy is high and she looks pretty awake.

He was suddenly taken aback when he saw our classmate, Clark. Her eyes widened, she even covered her mouth. "Oh, there you are," he whispered before quietly sitting down in his chair. He suddenly fell silent.

I just shook my head and went back to studying. Soon my classmates came one after another, as did Rose.

"Oh flowers again?" he commented when he saw the flower.

"Is there anything new about the woman being basted-in." Lian shook his head in mockery of me. Rose laughed and sat down in her chair.

"The height of your standards is too high for me!" Lian added, reaching beyond his head with his hand.

"My older brother Yushi basted the handsome nun ah!" What Rose is referring to is her half Japanese cousin. He flirted with me before but basted.

"Come with me later," I told them.

"Where?" Lian.

"In that man's classroom, I'll just bastedin."

"It's up to you, it's embarrassing for you to be alone," Lian nodded immediately.

I am true to what was said, that afternoon I talked to the man why he gave the flower I was not numb and I knew what he was going to say but I still asked. He confessed that he wanted to court me, I immediately refused.

I'm used of guys liking me, I don't know if I'm the one they like, Rose is richer and sweeter, Lian is more approachable and beautiful. So I don’t know why I am. I'm not bragging but of the three of us, I have the most confessions received. Either Facebook or personal.

This Saturday I have to go to the market to shop. There was, Nanay Sita, our family's helper and the one who almost raised me but she was old, so I was the only one shopping.

I just put on comfortable clothes before coming down and saying goodbye to my older brother. Our reef is empty so we really need to go to the market.

The market is close to us, just a trycicle ride and you can get there. People are shopping here early so there are a lot of people when I arrive. I buy vegetables and meat first, it's more comfortable to shop at the mall but it's cheaper and I can save here.

"Ate, how much is a kilo of onion?"

"120 ija, the price has gone up again." My eyes widened.

"Dear, it's not December yet." Angil ko.

"That's really the price, it's ever-changing."

"There's no forgiveness for that, sister?"

"Oh no more,"

"Dear don't," I was about to leave but he called me again.

"All right, 110 kilos for you." I sniffed and thought for a moment.

"Alright!" Atleast forgiven. I was helping my sister pick an onion when I suddenly saw Jayda and Nerisa. The two of them are together again.

It's simple, Nerisa. His hair is straight up to his shoulders, his face is small, his lips are thin and red, his nose is small but sharp, he is not very tall but he is just the right height. His eyes resemble mine, round and brown but his eyes are even more sly, to me they look dull especially when I raise my eyebrows. He is not white but neither is he dark, he is also simple in his dress.

They were in the other store but because it was so close I could hear what they were talking about. They didn’t see me because apart from a lot of people, they were busy with each other. I couldn’t help but listen to what they were talking about.

"All right, say father ten times." Jayda's challenge to him. I wasn't the one who was asked but I said the word father to my brain ten times.

"Father, father, father, father, father, father, father, father, father, father. What? What do you think I'm going to murmur?" Said, Nerisa to him. The man laughed.

It's not hard to repeat the word father ah?

"Awesome ah, not limp!" Jayda messed up, Nerisa's hair. "Okay, what about wing English?"

Feather, I answered in my mind.

"Feather!" Proud answer by, Nerisa. "You thought I'd say father? What are you now huh!"

"Are you sure?" he smiled, Jayda.

"Feather that!" Nerisa said with conviction.

Is that right? The English of the wing is feather?

"Yes Feather," Nerisa said. Jayda laughed at him loudly.

"Sure you feather not wings?" The man burst out laughing. I, on the other hand, felt sorry for the lip.

Yes or no? I got there quickly! So dumb!

"Hello, isn't it?" Nerisa looked around. "Embarrassing, many have heard!"

"Ija, this is it oh." I even jumped in shock when my sister called me. I just paid and left.

I continued shopping until I actually met the two. They were the first to see me so they were the first to greet.

"Laisle, just you?" asked, Jayda. I was still a little surprised when he called me.

"Ah, yes" I replied. Nerisa smiled at me so I smiled too. I was a little disgusted by the way he was staring at me so I averted my eyes.

"Your k-brother didn't accompany you?" Yes, Nerisa. I just shook him.

"Are you going to ride a tricycle home? It looks like you're still carrying a heavy load." Jayda said while passing the four eco bags I was carrying.

"Ah it's okay, I can do it." I told them.

"Ahm, can I just take you?" My eyes widened as I turned to Jayda. He smiled sparingly and scratched his head.

"Huh?" and Nerisa.

"Oh, not anymore. It's embarrassing for you, it's really okay, I can handle it and it's close." The amount I said.

"Ahm s-okay, I mean that's okay. Just take Elaisle, Jayda looks like she's carrying a lot." I shook my head at what Nerisa said.

Maybe they d-dated and I was disturbed!

"All right Elaisle, that's heavy I know." I didn't want to but the two became insistent.

Then I was ashamed of Jayda when we rode the tricycle, it was so tight that my shoulder was pressed against hers. I didn't want to because I was sweaty but I couldn't help it, unfairness to this man and the smell of Johnson's baby cologne even though I went around the market.

"Didn't you forget anything?" He asked suddenly. I immediately shook my head.

"No more, complete everything on my list. I'm sorry and-"

"It's okay, your older brother is my friend, so you're my friend too."

But I don't consider you a friend. I restrained myself from speaking because I knew it was an insult.

"Or like a younger k-brother."

"Brother? Looks like we're the same age, eh?"

"Really? How old are you?" He asked.

"19,"

"We're the same." After that we both fell silent.

"Laisle, I have something to do," he said.

"What's that?" I barely raised an eyebrow.

"Tell me father ten times," I almost laughed. This is what he made Nerisa do earlier.

"I don't want to," I whispered. He was stunned by me so I laughed, maybe he thought I would really sleep even if I didn't. Just a little.

"Ayy," she said.

I sighed and said what he wanted. I repeated the father ten times. I didn't faint so I smiled.

"Nax, now what's English for wings?" I smiled at him and challenged him to look me in the eyes.

"Wings," I smirked. I could see the crack in his lips and the shock in his eyes. Little didn't he know I was once thricked by him.

"Others are really smart."
