"We saw how Dylan's car was hit."
It froze their worlds. They did not anticipated any of this. The stress almost made them forget to seek justice. The culprit or shall we say murderer, is still out there.
"Who did this to him?" Reed's voice was trembling in anger.
His teeth were gritting in such a way. Even Langston's blood pressure rose up.
"We don't know, but we saw the car and the type of racing line." Tyrie addressed.
She was with Harry when it occurred, they did not planned to witness the tragic happening, it was due to coincidence that their path almost crossed. Dylan's car and their's were separated with just a few meters away from each other.
Tyrie can still recall the crystal clear incident.
"What racing line?!" Reed exclaimed.
He almost forgot that Tyrie is carrying a baby in her arms. Reed's loud voice made it weep. Tyrie, like a caring mother, nursed it gently. She rocked it back to sleep. Sadly, this baby could no longer hear the angelic voice of his father.
Tyrie's tears continued to fall like cascading waterfalls. Harry died, he died without even seeing his son grow.
"Hush now darling." Tyrie continued to utter.
The two continued to stare at her, their hearts were pinched heavily. She couldn't keep the melancholic vibe within her, Langston and Reed can feel her tragedy.
Reed was instantly calmed down by her actions. He can see Valoria in her her.
After the baby settled quietly, Tyrie continued speaking. There was no time left to be wasted, that is what she knew.
"A black limited edition Ferari raced with Harry. He was driving safely when it intercepted through the crossing section, the driver inside even threw dirt into our window. Harry's blood boiled, it was due to his emotions that's why he followed the car." Tyrie paused, giving herself a chance to paint a more vivid picture inside her mind.
"I know the model, I once dreamed to own that car. But frankly, knowing Harry, he won't let me have one. He fears that I might end up as racer. It was past 7:00 when the informal race started. We did not mean to start a commotion. Harry just don't like to be disrespected.
The race continued, Harry's speed was undeniably fast, but from the frontal view of our car, their lies another light, pointing straight towards us. The driver of the black Ferari did not bother to stop or drive away. He accelerated, driving straight towards the car. I told Harry to stop, and he followed me, from our position, we heard a loud crash." Tyrie retold the story from her own point of view.
Obviously, in her eyes, the culprit was none other than the racer. Reed sighed, this can't be happening, but at least they're now intact with new evidences. The lead will help Reed track the criminal.
And maybe, just maybe, the case with Sly and Dylan are still connected like strings.
"About what you said earlier, Harry is dead?" Langston spoke his curiosity out.
The answer to this question is bugging him completely. He needs to know, he values Tyrie. He treated her like his daughter. Harry and Tyrie aren't connected to the underground society, both of them agreed to stay out, but that doesn't make them invincible from all the dangers of it.
Her tears continued to fall, but this time it was harder than before. Her heart spoke, it's sad. She lost her other half, and she has no plans in replacing him.
"Harry was shot." Her voice cracked as she murmured.
"By whom?" It was now Reed's turn to ask.
The heaviness was unbearable for her, the resemblance of her husband's death made Tyrie close her eyes.
"Someone named Sly called us, he told us that we need to be more careful. We only took it as a joke, but suddenly, late afternoon was it, someone walked inside our home, killing Harry. It didn't do anything towards me and my baby, only to Harry." Tyrie continued without opening her eyes.
"Did you see who was it?" Langston's detective instincts kicked in.
"No, he was wearing a mask. And like what was said in the call, he mentioned Sly, Sly Elapid."
Tyrie decided to open her eyes, realizing that she could no longer run from her painful fate. This was meant to happen, they will never have their happy ending, only end...
"I need protection, not just for me, but also for my baby. I can't bear to lose another part of me." Her eyes swifted to Langston upon speaking.
This is her agenda. The death of Harry scared her, it'll be something worth vehement about. After all, she no longer lives for herself but also for her little son.
"Don't worry, I'll send my men in. No one will ever harm you." Langston assured her.
That made Tyrie sigh in relief, her safety is now assured even just for a small percentage. At least, she can now sleep peacefully.
After a few minutes of talking, the baby wept, it was louder this time. It was Tyrie's cue to leave. After all, she's done and over with her matter.
She looked at Reed and Langston before bidding her goodbye. Her eyes now showed a little light. It wasn't bright, for her sun vanished and is no longer part of her milky way.
"Thank you so much uncle." Filled with gratitude, she thanked him.
Langston just nodded and smiled back. It was not a big deal for him, he felt awful actually. After hearing what happened to Harry, he felt like he is a bit responsible for his death. He wasn't able to protect his own nephew!
Reed, on the right other hand is filled with questions. One by one they continued to pop out, exhausting his mind. It was the same case over and over again.
'When will this end? Why and what do you want from us Sly? Who ever you are, I swear, I'll make you pay for the wages of justice.' His stand spoke boldly inside the halls of his mind.
Reed is now certain, he needs to solve the case of Sly Elapid as swift as lighting.
