CHAPTER 6.2

“Thank you, Kei. Yes, yes, I’ll take my rest. No, Forth didn’t do anything to me. Yes, I’m safe. Goodness, mom, is this you? Okay, okay. Thank you again, I’ll return to work tomorrow, I promise.”

Ronan ended the call and for a moment he appreciated hearing his friend Kei’s voice over the phone. Even for that short moment, he felt calm from all the chaos happening inside his mind.

And now he is back again from wanting to skin himself alive.

He stares at his reflection in this mirror. He already taken a shower for the third time but the itch on his skin remains. Gripping on the marble counter, he breathes in deeply to control his need to scratch his skin.

No more, Ronan, no more.

He wants to laugh at himself. One moment, he is enjoying a good fuck from an Alpha, and the next moment—here he is, trying his best not to skin himself alive.

There are voices inside his head that are way louder than his own voice. Those voices keep on reminding him that he is an Omega—just an Omega. The lowest of the lowest. The ‘thing’ who’s only goal in life is to be played by those fucking Alphas. A nothing.

A sudden crawl of goosebumps invaded his whole body. He can literally feel how hard his heart is hammering inside his chest.

He called Forth ‘master’.

Master.

He looks at his reflection once again and laughs hysterically.

“You’re a fucking hypocrite, Ronan, aren’t you?”

He needs to get out of this place—or if he doesn’t, he is not sure anymore of what he is capable of doing to himself.

Ronan is hiding inside his mother’s closet.

It is a great day today for him because a miracle happened that his mother seemed to have woken up in the rightest side of her bed. She woke him up to eat a freshly cooked breakfast, which she never did in the longest of time that he already forgot that she could cook. She was smiling the whole time and she was so kind to him. It felt like a dream.

Not until they played hide-and-seek. For the few rounds, it was too good to be true that they were really playing together—until his mom haven’t found him until now.

He doesn’t know how long he has been hiding in here but his stomach his starting to hurt because he’s hungry. He didn’t want to think that it has been hours since he went here to hide but it would seem like it. If there’s anything he can do right now, it is to wait further.

The way his mother looked at him when she was saying the rules of the game is what keeping him inside this closet. She said it which such authority that he knows even having the slightest thought of leaving where he is hiding would make her furious. That’s why he wouldn’t leave here because she said she would find him.

Even if it means trying his best to ignore his growling tummy longer until—

The sudden sound of the door opening gave him life. His mom is going to find him finally!

His excitement went through him that he almost pushed the closet doors open—luckily, the giggling and soft talking stopped him. His whole body froze again from his position, it was too late. He already slightly opened the closet door, giving the view of his mother with yet again another man.

He pushes her down to make her kneel.

Never in his life he has seen his mom this happy—even happier this morning. She is radiating.

“You look beautiful.”

“Thank you, master.”

Master.

His mom called that man master.

He didn’t expect that this was the day he will discover he can regret being alive.

If there’s one thing Ronan regrets today—it’s being stupid. Like right now.

He’s feeling better now after the fresh air and it was the best decision for him to leave Forth’s unit. He doesn’t know what could have happened further if he stayed there but the thing is… This is where he hates being stupid.

He left without his wallet and phone. Stupid. Good thing was that he had some few bills with him but that was only enough for what he ordered here in the café. Now, the only problem he has is that he doesn’t know if he can borrow anyone’s phone.

If he does get collect himself and borrow someone’s phone, he’s debating whether to call Kei or Elijah or even Eden. But he has been bothering those three and he doesn’t actually want to hear Kei’s nagging voice when that man knew about his stupidity. Should he call Forth? Maybe he should but he doesn’t want to bother that man during his work.

Damn his stupidity, really. How is he going to get home again?
