Chapter 11 Sign the Papers

Naturally, Neve knew that Zane had always been meticulous in his work.

Suddenly, she felt a twinge of guilt for lying about being sick.

But now, she had no choice but to nod. "Okay, then I'll go back."

Zane nodded and walked away.

Albi stood in front of Neve and said in a low voice, "Miss Bennett, let me take you back."

Neve smiled at Albi. "Thank you, Albi."

"It's my pleasure."

Albi thought that Neve was the right match for Zane.

As Zane went over to talk to Magnus, Neve walked outside.

Albi quickly followed her.

While they were waiting for the elevator, Neve deliberately asked in a casual tone, "Albi, are the divorce papers ready?"

Hearing this, Albi looked at Neve and answered softly, "The papers are ready, but I haven't brought them to Mrs. Lawrence."

Neve furrowed her brows and said, "Albi, why do you still call Yanis that?"

Albi coughed softly as he met Neve's smiling eyes. "I apologize."

Just as the elevator stopped, Neve stepped into it.

Albi followed behind.

After Neve got into the elevator, the door closed. She asked Albi, "When did Zane ask you to deliver the documents?"

Albi truthfully replied, "Mr. Lawrence asked me to do it today."

"Albi, Zane has had quite a bit to drink today, so you better pick him up later, and I'll deliver the papers for you."

Albi looked at Neve. "You don't have to do that, Miss Bennett. I'll take care of it later."

Neve calmly said, "Then let's go together. I also want to talk to Miss Thompson."

Albi was about to say something when the elevator stopped.

As the doors opened, Neve stepped out.

Albi had to stop.

The divorce papers were placed on the passenger seat.

Neve caught a glimpse of them as she leaned over into the back seat.

Before Albi could put them away, Neve took them.

Albi looked back, only to meet Neve’s smiling eyes. "Albi, focus on driving. I'll just skim through the papers."

Looking at the divorce papers in Neve's hand, Albi had no choice but to start the car.

Zane had already signed the divorce papers.

With a sneer, Neve discovered that Zane didn't divorce Yanis without giving her anything.

Instead, Yanis would receive a house, a Ferrari, and a check for 50 million.

After reading it, Neve casually put the papers aside in the armrest box and looked at Albi. "Albi, has Miss Thompson been living at D-King Castle all these years?"

Albi answered, "Yes, Mrs. Lawrence... I mean Miss Thompson has been living with Mr. Lawrence at D-King Castle."

"It's still early. I'll call Miss Thompson and arrange to meet her somewhere. Zane is so busy; I'm afraid he might forget about it."

Zane did ask Albi to take the papers to Yanis, so Albi didn't object and nodded. "Okay, Miss Bennett."

Neve chuckled. "Zane is always so busy, he tends to forget things."

Albi said, "Mr. Lawrence is indeed busy every day, so he always asks me to send Mrs. Lawrence his schedule, and she reminds him when he is at home."

After so many years, Albi was used to calling Yanis by her last name.

Hearing this, Neve frowned. "Well, you can send me Zane's schedule from now on, and I'll remind him."

Albi replied, "Okay."

After all, Zane was about to divorce Yanis, and Neve would soon be his new wife.

Neve picked up her phone and then looked at Albi. "Albi, can you give me Miss Thompson's phone number?"

Since Albi often called Yanis, he had memorized her phone number.

Upon hearing Neve's request, he blurted it out.

Neve glanced up at Albi and then dialed the number.

It rang for a few seconds before Yanis picked up the phone.

"This is Yanis speaking."

"Miss Thompson, it's Neve."

When Yanis heard Neve's voice, she checked the number before speaking, "Miss Bennett? What can I do for you?"

Neve held the phone, looked at the divorce papers, and said softly, "Zane is a little busy today, so he asked me to bring the divorce papers to you. If you are available now, we can meet somewhere to sign the papers."

Yanis clenched her phone as she heard Neve's words.

It didn’t matter what Zane did.

But Neve’s involvement felt like rubbing salt in a gaping wound.

Yanis almost suffocated from the pain.

It was only after a long time that Yanis said, "You can pick a place, Miss Bennett, and I'll come over."

Neve looked at the time. "What about the Bookish Cafe in the city center?"

"All right."

"Then see you later, Miss Thompson."

“See you,” Yanis answered.

After hanging up the phone, Yanis held it up for a long time before turning to look at Ivan, who was driving, and said softly, "Ivan, turn ahead and go to Bookish Cafe."

Ivan glanced sideways at Yanis and asked, "Neve asked you out?"

Yanis nodded without saying anything.

Ivan changed lanes and turned right toward the city center.

The car soon arrived at Bookish Cafe.

It was a cafe offering a variety of foods.

After the car stopped, Yanis got out, and Ivan went to park it.

Yanis went straight to the cafe and took a seat near the window.

It didn’t take long before Neve arrived.

"Sorry to have kept you waiting, Miss Thompson. We hit a traffic jam on the way." As Neve spoke, she pulled out a chair and sat opposite Yanis.

"That's all right. I just got here myself."

Neve smiled at Yanis and put the divorce papers on the table. "Zane is too shy to do it himself."

Actually, Yanis knew Zane better than Neve did.

But Yanis was not in the mood to mention this before Neve.

Therefore, as Neve took out the divorce papers, Yanis asked, "Miss Bennett, do you have a pen?"

Neve maintained a polite smile on her face. "Are you available now, Miss Thompson? I'd like to talk to you about something."
