Chapter 11: You are Mrs. Hancock

For the next month, Amaya was busy helping Lana with her discharge from the hospital. Lana had mostly recovered, but she still needed to stay in a convalescent home even after being discharged.

During this time, Amaya took Jaylan to meet Lana.

Jaylan showed great respect in front of his mother-in-law and was very considerate in everything. He was the one who arranged Lana's convalescent home.

Lana was very pleased with her son-in-law and praised him to everyone she met.

Finally, both families met for a meal to finalize the wedding details.

The Hancock family only learned about Amaya's real family background after meeting Lana. They agreed that only Lana needed to attend the wedding from Amaya's side, and no other family members were invited. Even now, Kyson did not know that the daughter he disdained had become the wife of the Hancock Group's owner.

The couple also went to the civil affairs bureau one day to get their marriage certificate.

Although Amaya officially became Mrs. Hancock, her life remained largely unchanged.

She continued to work as usual, with the biggest difference being that she now had a man beside her at night—a very strong man. Except for her physiological period and nights when she was on duty at the hospital, Jaylan would always be there to keep her company.

The Hancock family was always efficient, especially when it came to joyous events.

Today was the day she and Jaylan were scheduled to take their wedding photos.

They had discussed whether or not to take wedding photos. Rather than a discussion, it was more like seeking his opinion.

He preferred not to take them because he didn't like them.

Wedding photos capture a couple's happiness and anticipation for their future married life. So, her mother-in-law ignored her son's opinion and directly arranged for the best wedding photography team in the country. They were only informed of the shooting date and location and told to arrive on time.

Wedding photos require expressions of happiness, which was something Jaylan found difficult to do.

"Mr. Hancock, could you soften your expression a bit?" The photographer asked cautiously, looking at the cold-faced man through the lens.

The man had been frowning since they arrived, causing the photographer a headache. He regretted taking this job, thinking he must have been blinded by money.

Mr. Hancock wasn't here to take wedding photos; he was here to torment them.

His aura and perfect features made it easy to take stunning shots, but they were supposed to be taking wedding photos that made everyone feel the couple's happiness. His facial expression...

Jaylan frowned upon hearing the photographer's request, showing his displeasure.

Amaya tugged at his sleeve and whispered, "Please cooperate."

Her breath tickled his neck, causing him to unconsciously soften his expression.

"Yes, that's good."

"Very good. Bride, lean closer to the groom and smile a bit more."

"That's it, just like that."

Once they both got into the mood, the photographer quickly snapped away.

The wedding photo shoot lasted three days.

Amaya was exhausted by the end of it.

She rested at home for two full days before recovering.

Fortunately, the photos turned out well and weren't too shocking. It wasn't easy to get Jaylan, with his naturally cold face, to look even slightly softer in photos.

As the wedding day approached, there were many details to prepare, but she didn't have to worry about them. She just needed to wait at home for her wedding dress to arrive for fitting.

"Jaida, are you here yet?" Amaya called Jaida to ask.

Today she was going to try on her wedding dress, and Jaida would try on her bridesmaid dress.

"I'm at the door. Come open it for me," Jaida said as she parked her car in the villa's garage. She couldn't help but marvel at the row of luxury cars inside. Rich people really did have daily dilemmas about which car to drive.

Once inside, Jaida took a 360-degree tour of the villa and couldn't help but exclaim about the world of the wealthy.

"Don't envy me. These are all Jaylan's, not mine. I'm actually poorer than you," Amaya said with a chuckle as she handed Jaida a cup of flower tea.

"Oh? What's this? It look expensive," Jaida noticed the diamond ring on Amaya's hand, estimating it to be at least five carats.

The main diamond was teardrop-shaped and of top quality, surrounded by several smaller diamonds and dozens of tiny diamonds around the band. It was incredibly valuable.

Under the light, the diamond ring sparkled brilliantly.

"It's my wedding ring, worth about ten or twenty million dollars," Amaya said with a resigned smile as she sipped her tea. Jaylan had brought it home a few days ago. She didn't want to wear a ring worth a villa on her finger, but being Mrs. Hancock required it.

"Here's your invitation," she said, pulling out an exquisite red invitation and placing it in front of Jaida.

Jaida opened it and saw the names: Bride Amaya Moreno, Groom Jaylan Hancock.

Jaida pondered for a moment. She had known Amaya since college and they had always been best friends. Although they were in different departments and years, they were each considered beauties in their respective fields—Amaya was elegant and pure like a lily, while Jaida was stunning like a rose.

They were two different kinds of beauty, but now Amaya had surpassed Jaida in looks.

In college, many rich heirs pursued her. If she had wanted, she could have married into wealth long ago. But she didn't marry those people back then; now she was marrying Jaylan. If life hadn't been so harsh, who would give up their future marriage?

She just hoped that even if Jaylan didn't love her friend, he wouldn't hurt her either.

In her eyes, Amaya was truly the best girl in the world.

"I don't care; you're my bridesmaid. You have to come over a day early to keep me company," Amaya said playfully as she pinched Jaida's smooth cheek.

She couldn't help but marvel again at Jaida's smooth skin.

"What? Aren't you afraid I'll steal your spotlight as the bride?" Jaida teased as she brushed off Amaya's hand.

"I'm not afraid at all. I hope you do steal my spotlight and find yourself a boyfriend," Amaya retorted with an eye roll.

"Sweetie, marrying into a family like Jaylan's might be tough," Jaida said seriously. She didn't know much about Jaylan's family situation, but wealthy families often appeared glamorous on the outside while hiding many dangers within.
