Chapter 2

Kaoru P.O.V

I woke up and noticed that I was late...whatever.

I did my morning routine and after that I went to the Academy.

I was feeling watched by someone but then that person appeared next to me.

- Yo! Good morning. – dad said.

I sighed.

- I know where the Academy is, you don't need to come with me or spy me. – I said not looking at him.

- I wasn't spying you! – he defended himself.

I looked at him and raised an eyebrow.

- I w-was just checking how you were. T-That's all. – he said.

I rolled my eyes and continue walking but by the corner of my eye I saw him become sad...

I sighed.

- G-Good morning. – I said quietly but he listened and gave me a closed eyed smile.

I really miss those...maybe...just maybe...I should give him a chance...the Hokage did say that he had nothing to do with this.

- Something on your mind? – he asked.

- Huh? – I said confused.

- You looked like you were thinking really hard. Is everything okay? – he said.

- Yeah...everything is fine. – I said and he nodded.

- I was thinking...do you want to...perhaps... - he started.

- Yes. – I simply said.

- Huh? – he said confused.

- Weren't you gonna ask if I wanted to have a father/daughter day with you? – I said.

He nodded.

- Than yes I would like that. – I said calmly not looking at him.

After some minutes we arrived at the Academy and dad knocked at the door.

- Oh Kakashi-san! I thought something happened! I was waiting for you. It's nice having you back. – Iruka said looking at me.

- Nice to see you again too Iruka-sensei. – I said bowing which surprised him.

- W-Well, come in. See you Kakashi-san. – Iruka said.

- Yeah...bye. See you later swee... I mean Kaoru. – dad said.

- Bye. - I said.

He was going to...

I sighed and got in to see someone at the ground tied up...Naruto...it's been so long since I last saw him.

- Just give me a second and you will be able to introduce yourself, let me just finish something first. – Iruka said and I nodded.

- Listen, Naruto. You failed the last final exam and the exam before that, you shouldn't be fooling around like that. – Iruka told him.

I raised an eyebrow after he said that and well Naruto just shrugged it.

- We're going to have a review test for the Henge no Jutsu! Those who already passed will have to line up as well! – Iruka said.

- WHAT?! – they all said.

I rolled my eyes and went to Naruto.

- Huh? – Naruto said looking at me.

I took a kunai and cut the ropes and offered my hand so he could get up.

He took it but he seemed scared.

- So now – Iruka started but I interrupted him.

- You know...if people treated him with respect things like this would NOT happen. – I said looking at Iruka.

Everybody looked at me surprised.

- O-Oi...who are you? – Naruto asked.

- Huh? You don't remember me?! – I asked surprised.

- N-No. – he answered.

I sighed.

- You always forget people's faces. Very well, can I introduce myself now Iruka-sensei? – I said.

- H-Hai. – he answered.

- My name is Hatake Kaoru. – I said and those who already knew me widened their eyes, especially Naruto and Sasuke.

- Where have you been?! – a pink haired girl asked.

........I think her name....AH! Sakura...fangirls...I never liked them.

- I don't owe you or any of you an explanation. I just own an explanation to 2 people in this room and you are DEFINITELY not one of them! And I won't answer any questions, you already know who I am anyway. – I said.

- K-Kaoru-chan... - Naruto said quietly.

I got out of my mad and cold mode and looked at him with a small smile which only him and Sasuke could notice.

Suddenly he punched me.

OW THAT HURT! He sure got some punch!

- NARUTO! – Iruka-sensei screamed at him.

- It's okay. Don't scream at him. – I said cleaning the blood of my mouth and went towards him.

I sighed and pulled him into a hug which he accepted.

- I'm sorry...I promise one day I'll explain to you what happened but...for now I just can't, but I'm sorry Naruto. – I whispered to him and he nodded.

With that we stopped hugging and he grinned at me.

I noticed that everyone was staring.

- Do you have a problem?! – I asked them.

They all shook their heads scared.

- L-Let's do the Henge no Jutsu! – Iruka said.

We all started to line up with me being right beside Sasuke.

He was just staring at me.

- Haruno Sakura going, Henge! – she said transforming into Iruka.

- Okay. – Iruka said and she undid the jutsu...well...not really good but okay.

- I did it! Did you see that Sasuke-kun?! – she said but he was still staring at me.

- Next Uchiha Sasuke. – Iruka said but he didn't move.

- You know it's your turn right? – I asked him.

- Huh? – he said confused.

- Just go and do the jutsu so we get this over with, Sasuke. – I said bored.

He raised an eyebrow but went and did the jutsu.

- Alright. Next Hatake Kaoru. – Iruka said.

I moved forward, very lazily may I add.

- Sensei! She just came back! – Ino said.

- Yeah! She can't do this! – Sakura said.

I rolled my eyes.

- This sucks. – Shikamaru said from behind me.

I looked at him and smirked.

- I agree. – I said and then transformed into Iruka perfectly.

- What?! – Ino and Sakura said shocked.

- Perfect. – Iruka said with a smile and I undid the jutsu.

I went to where Sasuke was standing.

It was now Naruto's turn.

- Henge! – Naruto said.

He transformed into a lady...naked...which made Iruka have a nose bleed.

- Perverts. – me and Sasuke mumbled in unison which made us look at each other and smirk.

- YOU BAKA! DON'T INVENT SUCH A DUMB TECHNIQUE! – Iruka screamed.

It might be dumb...but you fell for it...so who's dumber?!

It's good to know that Naruto is still the same...but Sasuke...he's so cold right now, pain really changes people.

After that class ended I went home and I was now on my way there when I sensed someone following me.

- You know...I don't bite, Sasuke. – I said and stopped walking.

He got out of wherever he was hiding.

- Wasn't your house the other way? – he asked.

- Hello to you too. And I live alone now, beside your place to be exact. – I said and we started walking side by side.

- Why? And...where have you been? – he asked.

I sighed.

- Sasuke...I'm sorry. I swear one day I'll explain what happened but...for now it's just too difficult for me to deal with. – I said.

- I see...so me and Naruto are the ones who you owe and explanation? – he asked.

- Yup. – I answered.

- You're different...you're acting like – he started but I finished.

- You?

- Yeah. – he answered.

- Pain changes people doesn't it, Sasuke? That's why you're so cold now? – I asked.

He just looked down mad.

I put my hand on his shoulder.

- If you need to talk...I'm here for you. – I said truly smiling.

- You...that smile...you just do it for me and Naruto. Why? – Sasuke stated.

I sighed.

- Naruto and you are different...I feel closer to you guys. I care for both of you very much and I know I can count on both of you. – I said.

- I see...thanks. – he said.

- See, you're nice to me too. – I said amused.

- You're different, t-that's all! – he said looking the other way.

I chuckled at his reaction.

We said goodbye and went to our houses.

I got ready so I could go see dad and have the rest of the day to ourselves.

I was now preparing to leave when someone knocked at the door, I immediately went there and opened the door.

- Yo! – dad said.

- You're here early. – I said since he's always late.

- You're different, that's why. – he said with a closed eyed smile.

...I really missed him and those smiles...but what I missed the most is his hugs.

- Kaoru. – dad said.

- Huh? – I said confused.

- You're spacing out. – he said.

- Oh...sorry. Let's get going. – I said closing the door and locking it.

- So...where do you want to go or do? – he asked me.

- I don't know. – I said shrugging.

- Well...let's see...I was thinking about going to the book store to buy some books or scrolls and then we could have dinner at Ichiraku's and then...huh? – dad stopped and looked at me surprised.

I couldn't help it, my eyes immediately lighted up. I love books and Ramen!

- I see you still love those things! – dad said with a small smile.

I looked the other way embarrassed.

- Then, first stop book store. – he said which made me happy inside.

We went there and I got a bunch of books about new jutsus so I can train.

- T-Thank you. – I said to him since he paid for them.

He smiled and patted my head.

- No problem. – he said.

We were now walking when we heard.

- KAKASHI!!!

- Huh? – me and dad said turning around.

...someone was running towards us...oh no...please not him...

Suddenly he stopped in front of dad.

- MY RIVAL! Let's have another match! – Guy said.

- No, I can't. – dad said.

Guy started anime crying.

- Why?! – he asked.

- Because I'm spending time with Kaoru. – he answered.

He immediately stopped crying and looked at me and his eyes lighted up.

- MY YOUTHFUL CHILD! – he said and got me on a hug but I immediately used the substitution jutsu and hide behind dad which made him smile.

- My youthful child, I missed you...huh? Where is she?! – Guy said.

- Avoiding your youthful hug so you don't break my youthful bones. – I mumbled still behind dad.

Guy started anime crying again which made dad sweatdrop.

- Just one hug...please! – Guy begged.

- No. – I said.

He looked at me with puppy eyes.

- It's still a no. – I said.

He got depressed and suddenly dad got me and took us out of there.

- Now we can be at peace, sorry about that. Let's go eat. – he said.

- C-Could we order and take it to my place? – I asked.

- Sure, no problem. – he answered with a smile.

And that's what we did.

We were now done eating and dad asked.

- What do you want to talk about?

- Huh? – I said.

- That's why you wanted to eat here, right? You have questions. If so, ask. I'll answer. – he said.

- Very observant. – I said.

- So are you, that's how I know that you're my daughter! – he said.

I raised an eyebrow.

- Cocky much?! – I said.

He laughed bit and I looked down.

- Why? – I asked quietly.

- Huh? – he said confused.

- Why was I sold? – I said looking at him with cold eyes.

He got serious.

- Honestly...I don't really know or understand why she did it. – he said.

I closed my hands into fists.

- Why didn't you find me? – I asked.

- Kaoru...as soon as your mother told me that she sold you I took her to jail. This 5 years...I've spent these 5 years looking for you and going to prison every single day to try to make her talk so I could know at least to who she sold you to. Unfortunately she didn't say a thing. – he said.

I widened my eyes a bit...he went there every day...for 5 years?

- How...How didn't you saw that she didn't care about me? – I asked.

- Kaoru...I just...I don't know. – he said sad.

I got mad and got up.

- You don't know...YOU DON'T KNOW?! WHY?! WHY DOESN'T SHE LOVE ME? WHAT DID I DO WRONG?! DID YOU EVEN WANTED ME?! DID YOU WANTED TO HAVE KIDS?! – I asked mad.

- Of course! – he said getting up as well.

- SO WHY WAS I SOLD?! WHY WASN'T I RESCUED?! Why?.........WHY?! – I asked and with that I burst into tears.

Memories of those 5 years coming back.

- You have NO idea of what I've been through...NONE OF YOU DOES!!! And you come here expecting that I'll be the same happy, giggly person that I once was...HOW CAN I?! My parents don't love me! I was SOLD! OF COURSE I'M COLD! I've been through hell and back!...Why was I sold?! What did I do wrong? Do you guys hate me so much?! – I asked looking at him, tears streaming down my face.

- Stop! I do NOT hate you Kaoru! You were and you will always be the best thing that has ever happen to me...you...when your mother told me that she was pregnant...I was so happy and excited. You are everything that I have, you're my world, I would give my life for you sweetheart. I'm so sorry that I didn't protect you...I'm so so sorry...I...I looked for you every day since you went missing. – he said crying as well.

I just looked at him with eyes wide open.

- Kaoru, I love you so much sweetheart. I don't know what happened to you but...please...you can trust me, I'm here for you...please trust me. – he said.

He's...he's not...he's not lying!

I did what I missed the most.

I ran towards him and hugged him tight, he immediately bent down to my level and hugged me tight like he was afraid of letting go.

- Sweetheart... - he said calmly.

- Otou-san...I.......I was so scared....I...Orochimaru....he....I was tortured, beat up, experimented on...I have a curse mark....and I...I missed you so much! – I said crying desperately and trembling.

- Shhhh. It's okay sweetheart. I'm here now, he won't get near you. – He said hugging me tighter.

I didn't want him to let go....I just wanted some comfort...and peace.

He stopped hugging after a while and cleaned my tears while saying.

- You're so strong, I'm so proud of you. – he said.

I smiled a bit.

- I learned with the best. – I said.

He gave me a closed eyed smile.

- You should go to sleep now, tomorrow it's your exam. – he said.

- Can...Can I just ask something? – I said.

He nodded.

- Does mom know that I'm here? That I'm alive? – I asked.

- No, nobody told her and since you came back I didn't went there. Why? – he answered.

- C-Could I go there and see her? – I asked him.

- I don't know. Do you think it's a good idea? – he asked.

- I just need to know why...please. – I begged.

He sighed.

- You can come with me tomorrow before the academy starts. – he said.

- Thank you. – I said.

- Now go to sleep. I clean this so don't worry. – he said patting my head.

I just nodded and went to bed.

I'm glad I did this...at least I know that he cares and didn't have anything to do with selling me to that pedo!

Well...let's just sleep.
