Chapter 9: Ivy’s madness

It was exactly 5 pm when Leah was rounding up with her work, that said, she was trying to get Kessy on the phone to remind her about their appointment. Kessy answered the phone and they decided to have dinner at a nearby bar where the two friends discussed, Kessy explained some of her worries both at the career level and the family level, she was worried about her job interfering in her marital status and was wondering if she should quit the managing job, but Leah only asked her to manage as it wouldn't be beneficial for her to quit her job and stay home as a housewife.

Back with the Lee's, we had Jackson preparing some documents as he was about to take some holidays too, Evelyn his mother was lying on one of the soft chairs, she wore a black, grey, and purple gown it was after the kneel level with some reddish flowers on the core of the neck, this gown was Evelyn favorite as she claims it was given to her by her late husband, Jackson's dad, while lying straight on the chair she couldn't stop looking at the gown, it reminded her of her old good days with her late husband. In an instant Sharon joined them in the living room, she was feeling tired and feeling as to go to bed, but she needed to be in the living room as she was always trying to play the part of the perfect wife. That said, the maid was already getting the table set for dinner, and that evening they were having rice and chicken, while the maid was making her possible best to be fast, Evelyn did not see that through her side and insisted she should be fast, and even called her names, Jackson her lovely boy tried to calm her down and that was when her nerves got calmed, immediately Sharon intervened in between Jackson and Evelyn conversation, she was trying to explain to them how vulnerable Leah had become and how low class she was, the conversation sounded very interesting on Evelyn's end, to a fault that she practically forgot she was having an empty stomach whereas, Jackson did not enjoy the conversation and asked Sharon to change the topic of her conversation and his mum asked why the conversation was to be changed and he replied saying he doesn't wanna hear about Leah anywhere around his house. Even though Evelyn and Sharon were not happy to end the conversation, they had to because the face Jackson used to express himself wasn't a friendly one, and throughout their dinner, he kept his face fierce as if he had tempered with an enemy of his, Evelyn and Sharon were worried and only discovered he kept an unfriendly face just because Leah's name was been mentioned in his house, they vowed never to mention her name in the villa even if what happens. After dinner Jackson went to bed, a little smile just showed on his face when Sharon was talking about her pregnancy.

The next morning, the clouds were bright, shining from all directions, the weather was just perfect. Leah was already up and getting ready for work she had already prepared breakfast, she was having bread, eggs, and some hot tea that early morning. On arrival, Mary Peters and some staffs were already present and in some minutes Billy made his entry through the tall gate of the building, the staff welcomed him and his look was kind of friendly.

"Good morning Sir," the staff addressed Billy

"Good morning." Billy responded with a gentle smile and getting ready to enter his office, he moved straight to his office and was complying documents since it was almost time for his holiday, he took his time to make sure every important document of his was attended to, and in an instant came the arrival of his ex-girlfriend Ivy, she entered the building dressed in a blue skirt, lemon green t-shirt, on top of the lemon green t-shirt she wore a black suit, on her feet, she was putting on a black high heel, on her arm she held a white shining handbag, she entered the building with a furious face, she greeted non of the staffs and responded to non of their greetings, she went straight to Billy's office and without knocking at his door, she jumped into his office and, he was very surprised and equally furious as well, when he tried asking her, who gave her the permission to enter his office without informing him, she got mad instantly and lost it all, from the other side of the building, the staff could get some noise coming from Billy's office but the message wasn't clear, this caused murmuring among the staff as they were trying to visualize what was going on between Billy and Ivy. Back to the office, the environment was tense, you could see veins showing off on Billy's face he was really angry at Ivy, and then he asked her to get out of his building or else he was gonna do something stupid, but Ivy insisted she wasn't going anywhere, then, Billy turned to the direction facing the phone, he held it in his hands and with anger, he immediately requested for two security guards, in less than a minute, two security guards reported themselves in Billy's office, once they were permitted to enter his office he raised his head towards Ivy and asked she should be taken out of his office and in a furious tone, he said she should never be permitted to enter the building. Ivy was aggressively taken out of Billy's premises, as she was been dragged out each staff rushed to see what was happening, and immediately she was taken out of the gate, Billy came down and requested to have a 5-minute conversation with his staff. After they were all present, Billy apologized and insisted it was gonna be the last time something of that nature will occur. He promised to do his possible best to prevent Ivy from getting access into the building, that said, the staff accepted his apology and they all resumed work.

Later in the day, it was time for their break, the staff was still chocked Billy had ceased to be into a relationship with Ivy, they continued saying that Ivy was feeling as if she was already married to Billy, so the news of the break up shattered the whole building, all they could be just to pip from the corners and laugh in silent.

5 pm was fast approaching and Leah was rounding up to go home when Billy asked to see her in his office, she quickly rushed and attended to her boss, immediately she entered he raised his eyebrows looked at her for like 3 minutes and later told her their trip was going to be done in the next three days, and no longer in a week time, Leah was confused but could only obey the words of her boss, she accepted and that she was going to get ready before they take off. After the little conversation, they had Billy asked her to go continue with her tasks, leaving Billy's office to her's was quite long as all she did on her way was think about what he just told her, she was convinced it was because of the apparition of Ivy, her boss decided to shift their holiday sooner.

Three days later, Billy was already ready and had already prepared for the journey, by this time he tried calling Leah over the phone, it's only the second time that Leah picked the call, and Billy was angry as he don't like calling anyone twice. On the phone, he sounded angry as to why she was not nearer the phone but Leah said she wasn't beside the phone, Billy insisted that she should make it fast and that the driver will be coming to pick her. Leah quickly wore her dress, she was wearing a light blue gown, with some folds around the kneel level, white low heel sandals, and a white-yellowish purse, her hairstyle was the usual one she used to take to work on normal days. By 10 am, Billy's driver was already around Leah's residence, that said, Leah was already ready and just went down and entered into the car, entering the car, Billy was already inside and she greater him.

"Good morning Sir," Leah said while looking straight into Billy's eyes.

"Good morning!" Billy replied with a normal tone.

They left for Las Vegas that early, the driver was to leave them at the airport, in order not to miss their flight, Billy asked the driver to add some speed. In some minutes Billy and Leah were already at the airport, as his driver dropped them, that same minute he left. Back at the airport, Billy and Leah had to pass through some agents to make sure their papers were complete before they could travel. Everything was checked and they were accompanied to the plane through the VIP section, they sat comfortably and waited for the plane to take off. Throughout their journey Billy sounded calm, he only concentrated on some magazines, through the flight he's head was always down, the only time he raised his head was when he wanted to sip the champagne inside his glass, aside from that, the habits of the almighty boss remained intact. Leah wasn't bothered about Billy's attitude because she already knew the aggressive man he was, so she just stayed quiet and made as if nothing was wrong. During the flight a couple was sitting right beside Billy and Leah, they were sharing the same champagne, sine the champagne was a little bit far from them, the woman tried calling Billy to help her with the bottle of champagne but Billy didn't respond to her demand, some few minutes, she then turned towards Leah and asked the same question and in some seconds, Leah served her and then the lady thanked her and said

"Thank you, dear you're better than your husband," the lady said while looking Leah straight in the eyes.

Once the lady said that Billy just raised his head and looked at the lady for some seconds, and right inside her eyes, the lady without fear said

"I'm I lying? Your wife is very kind and you be feeling yourself." the lady responded while underlooking Billy, at that moment Billy just shook his head and went back to the magazine he was reading, by this time Leah felt embarrassed, she was so much shocked as the lady referred to her as Billy's wife, the lady turned back and looked at Leah and she noticed her face wasn't longer the same, she had noticed some changes on Leah's face and asked if she said anything bad and later asked if Billy was her husband, things later began even worst for Leah as she was feeling a shame to tell the couple she was working for Billy and not his wife, the confusion on her face made her leave her seat for the rest room, inside, she was still feeling shy to go back on her seat, she was so much humiliated, she gathered her courage and went back and took and sit, this time she was looking much more bolder and ready to affront any obstacles that might come her way, as she sat, the smile on her face disappeared, in some seconds she was much more looking like Billy, the lady seating towards her noticed the her face had took another dimension and decided to remain quiet without asking anymore question to Leah. After close to 15 minutes, the lady apologized to Leah and said she was sorry about the moment she made her pass through, Leah accepted her apologize and it was only after that, there was a little smile on Leah's face. Billy remained wasn't bothered at all, his head was down throughout the flight, and did not want to be disturbed, some minutes before they arrive at their destination, Billy called Leah by her name to verify if everything was okay on her side, she responded by a yes, that she was doing good and she was equally enjoying the journey. Billy after hearing her response went back to his magazine and his head was down till they arrived at their destination. Leah was glad to know her arrogant boss was checking on her, that smile kept on till they arrived in Las Vegas, the lady beside her noticed the smile on Leah's face come back, and she was now comfortable, she proceeded in asking for another bottle of champagne from Leah and with so much joy, Leah passed the bottle to the lady, and the journey went on.
