Chapter 6: The other side of Leah Easton

By 1 pm, Billy and Leah were almost ready to go meet Mrs. Elssie James to discuss business

"Sir, it's almost time for your appointment with Mrs. Elssie James." Leah said while holding some documents in her hands.

"Okay, let the driver know we are going out, and you better be useful for I won't tolerate any mistake from you this time!"

"Yes sir!" Leah said.

Billy and Leah took off at exactly 12:30 pm of the day, when they arrived where the appointment was to take place Billy reminded Leah again that in case of any misbehavior he was gonna call Henry ford to reject her as his assistant.

"Mrs. Elssie James welcome," Leah said in a low and polite manner as she was moving towards them."

"Hello, Mr Stallone I'm honored to share some business suggestions with you." Mrs. Elssie James said with a luminous smile on her face.

"It's equally a pleasure having you around in my city, along with a cold bottle of red wine, while discussing business. I mean who dare refuse an appointment with you?"

"Hahahaha" Mrs. Elssie James while smirking.

Mrs. Elssie James was a tall round lady, with a round face covered with hairline and fullness below the cheekbones, she had long black hair and brown brightening eyes. She was very sharp at business, several times won the prize "Businesswoman of the year."

The symposium between Mr. Stallone and Mrs. Elssie James took as long as five hours and after that, it was practically 5 pm.

"The meeting was indeed worth it, I guess I was blessed today." Mrs. Elssie said while gleaming.

"I equally got new business strategies," Billy said with a soft nice voice.

After Billy and Mrs. Elssie had greeted themselves and detached, Billy, authorized Leah to get home and that she could resume work the following day.

"Get home now and be early enough tomorrow!"

"Thanks, Mr. Stallone!"

Leah Easton on her way, decided to pass through the super market, to get some stuffs for her little room.This was exactly 5:45 pm of the day. a day indeed to remember!

"We finally meet again you waitress," Sara said.

"Sure, you daughter of nobody, "Leah replied.

"Hahaha, ....you should be the last of all people calling me a daughter of nobody, oh no so you think you're still married to Jackson? Poor you." Sara said while laughing hard.

"Each time I remember I was the one who brought you out of the gutters, I feel like spitting up. You ain't grateful you bitch, do you remember your days in the streets of Milton? You little spoiled brat." Leah said while yelling at Sara.

Sara stayed calm for a while, and then she answered Leah.

"So you think because you did one or two things for me makes you superior to me?" Sara inquired.

"Of course! I brought you out from the pits of hell so you better be grateful you silly girl." Leah scold her

"And where are you heading to?" said Sara.

"That's none of your business," Leah answered.

After the conflict between Leah and Sara, Leah changed her entire plan, which was to go get some stuff for her room, and decided to go get some good hot coffee at the nearby coffee saloon. While having her coffee, she had a rethink of her two previous conflicts with Sara and said to herself, the next person who pushes her to the world won't like to see the other side of her.

"I'm a great person I'm a brilliant woman never on earth have I ever offended someone, my only error was that of not being able to put to birth but is that my fault, I didn't choose to be sterile henceforth I'm not gonna take any shit from anybody," Leah Easton murmured to herself.

The next day was a Thursday, Leah had to be very early at her job site, for she had some incomplete documents to process before the arrival of Billy.

The arrival of Billy at the company,

"Good morning sir," the staff greeted,

"Good morning, it's a great day" Billy.

The whole staff got confused, you could figure out confusion only by the look of their faces, this was because Billy had always been cold towards them, never in their lifetime had Billy answered in such a manner, he was always cold, furious, and harsh.

They were wondering what could occasion such a smile on their boss's face.

"Leah, I'm expecting you in my office now!" Billy said.

" Mr. Stallone! On my way" Leah replied.

There was complete suspense in the building, Leah quickly moved to Mr. Stallone's office as always she was calm, bold, and waiting for Billy to assign her to do her task. But this time it was different, as Billy was about to announce some good news.

"Sir, you sent for me here I am," Leah said.

"Yes I sent for you have a sit," Billy answered.

"Mr. Stallone asking me to take a sit? This is serious!" Leah murmured to herself. She took a seat while waiting for Billy to clarify things.

"I got good news!" said Billy

"Wow" I'm impressed Sir, said Leah

"The first good news is that the company won a contract with Mrs. Elssie's company, and our administrative staff will be having a conference with Mrs. Elssie's staff, that will be at the end of the month. You'll be escorting me not only as my assistant equally as a special guest." Billy said with a little smile on his face.

"Wow, thank you, sir, I'm flattered," said Leah.

" I must admit you've been during a great job even though sometimes you get completely out of the line, so far, you've contributed a lot to this contract and if I don't admit this simply means I'm a greedy man."

" I'm honored sir," Leah answered with some gentleness in her words.

"Get back to work!" Billy said.

Leah Easton got back to her respective office, along, there was this smile which kept on reflecting on her face, she was completely blushing, she couldn't believe a day shall come, wherein Mr.Stallone was gonna appreciate the efforts she's been putting to enable the company sign more contracts with other multi-billion dollars companies, to her this was the best massage she had received after three years of her life in complete darkness. Back to her office, she was so glad that she decided to share the news with Mary Peters, who was a member of the administrative staff. Mary Peter was so excited for her, in her words she said " indeed you are blessed, let no one stop you from soaring, keep soaring, keep dreaming big, keep going higher, and may the Lord continue to place you on higher grounds"

Leah Easton was so touched by Mary's words that she almost cried out.

"I appreciate, and your words will forever remain in my heart." Leah answered with a lot of emotions.

After work, Leah on arriving at her room met an old friend Kessy Roberts.

"Leah Easton," Kessy shouted,

"Kessy Roberts," Leah said in coolness.

"It's been long we last saw each other, if I'm not mistaken it's three years," Kessy said,

"Yeah! It's exactly three years you're completely right."

"What happened? I searched for you in all the streets of Milton, I was even forced to get in contact with your half-sister still yet, I got nothing concerning you"

" oh please don't you dare call that bitch my sister!"

"Oups! I'm sorry dear friend, I was just trying to figure out your whereabouts."

"Sorry for being so harsh towards you, I appreciate your efforts in struggling to know my whereabouts," Leah said.

"What really happened between you and Jackson ? I was so shocked when I heard you were no longer his wife"

"I was as shocked as you my dear friend, but have moved on, and I don't wanna talk about this any longer."

"I'm so glad you've moved on!" Kessy mentioned.

The two old friends, Leah Easton and Kessy Roberts who had not seen each other for three years decided to hang out in the nearby lounge, they had a nice sweet day, as they discuss their friendship and how they used to be close. they talked about their respective new jobs as Kessy Roberts was now a general manager to a bank, compared to her old job which was that of being a personal assistant to Leah's ex-husband Jackson. From their discussion, Leah murmured to herself "this world isn't balanced" as she remembered the old days when she was the boss.

After the conversation between Leah and Kessy, they both kept in contact and decided to see each other.

The next day, Leah reported to work as usual. On arrival, the security guards were like "Mr. Stallone arrived twenty-five minutes ago," she was so scared and afraid that she might lose the invitation card given to her by Billy. Just as she entered the building, there was complete silence, and Mary Peters looking at her in some look warm manner and then she murmured to herself, "I lost it", it was at this moment, that she heard a sharp piercing voice from the other side of the building,

"Leah"

She was so shocked that before she could answer, she was already trembling and her whole body shivering, she didn't even notice the person who called her.

"Leah," Mary said with a sharp voice.

"Yes!" Leah answered.

"This is the second time I called you, what the hell has been going on in your head?"Mary whispered with a soft voice.

"I'm sorry! I was lost, I taught Mr. Stallone was the one calling after me." Leah replied

" oh no! I know that feeling, please be calm Mr. Stallone hasn't asked for you." Mary said.

After what Mary said, Leah felt so relieved she was so stressed up. By 9:15 am, another voice could be heard from the other side of the building calling for Leah, this time around it was Billy.

"Leah! In my office immediately."

"Mr. Stallone here am I," Leah said while rushing to Billy's office.

"My documents aren't complete! Why?" Billy asked,

"Sir, please I wasn't feeling too strong, I'm gonna complete them before twelve." Leah mentioned.

"You better do, I don't pay you for excuses, I need my work done now!" Billy said in anger.

Leah moved to her office where she was processing Billy's documents and tried to be fast for the papers to be done before twelve. After processing the documents, she took a little break to go have some food, just when she was about to cross the road, a glittering black Benz batched behind her, luckily enough she was vigilant, the black Benz almost grinned at her. she recognized the car, it was the same car which drove Jackson and Sharon back after the party. She said " I'm one hundred percent sure Sharon was the one driving the Benz, she almost took my life, luckily enough I was vigilant"

Leah was so shocked about what just happened, that she had lost her appetite. She went back to the office and took  a seat and laid her head above the table, after some minutes she received a message from a strange number saying " you survived this time, but next time I assure you, it shall be your last time on earth, be very vigilant"

Leah for the very first time in her life had never been scared as she was. She was indeed shivering so hard that her hair, stood up. She was thinking of showing the message to Billy, then she got confused as to what if he was not gonna appreciate such. She decided to call her old friend Kessy Roberts.

"Kessy's phone ringing..........

"Hello, kessy on the phone?" Leah asked.

"Yes! It's Kessy"

"Can we have an appointment?"

"Oh sure! Once I'm done with my task, I'm gonna call you so you could tell me where we gonna meet" Kessy said,

"Okay!" Leah answered and then dropped the call.
