Chapter 7: 20th August

After Kessy Roberts, had completed her task she proceeded in calling Leah

“Hello, Leah I'm done what about you?” Kessy asked.

“Hey, Kessy, please give me a few minutes I'm not yet done with my boss,” Leah answered.

“Okay, I'll be in the launch bar waiting for you”

“Great” Leah said.

It was already 5 pm, and Leah was in a private meeting with Billy and Mary Peters, after some few minutes the meeting came to an end. Leah quickly rushed to go meet Kessy.

“Hello, girl,” Leah said and then later gave Kessy a peck on her jaw.

The two friends, later on, discussed what happened, Leah explaining what had earlier happened to her, left Kessy in a devastating position she was so shocked and frightened, and in a sharp voice she said, “you better report this case to the police because your life is been threatened.”

“Eventually, I'm gonna report this case to the police I need security.” Leah said.

“But why should anybody want to take your life? I suggest you tell your boss about this,”

“Do you mean I should report this case to Mr. Stallone? You don't know my boss,” Leah said.

Kessy and Leah decided to go report the case at the police station the following day. After the two ladies took their decision each and everyone took the direction to their respective homes.

The next morning when Leah arrived at her job site, as usual, the building was always tensed. There was silence at each corner of the building, everyone was occupied with their tasks, Mary Peters was already around as she was the one coordinating activities that early morning. There came the arrival of Billy, and as usual, the staff quickly welcomed him.

“Good morning Sir,” the staff,

“Good morning,” Billy replied

This time everyone rushed back to their respective position and continued their task

“Mary peters, in my office now!” Billy said from the other side of the building.

Mary peters immediately rushed to Billy's office

“Present Sir,” Mary said,

“ you've been the one coordinating activities for 6 months now I need every single information from the staff, I need every little information”

“Yes Sir, every piece of information is inside the document I dropped them this morning in Leah’s office” Mary answered.

“Get her now!”

Mary rushed to go get Leah who on the other side was complying the documents.

“ Leah the boss want’s you in his office with the staff’s document now.”

“I’ll get to his office immediately.” Leah said.

Leah rushed to Billy's office, with the complete documents in her hands.

“Good morning Mr. Stallone here are the complete documents,” she said while handing the documents to Billy.

“ they ought to be complete or else I'll be much furious!” Billy said in a harsh tone.

Billy went through the documents and they were complete, nothing omitted, indeed, the company was making some progress in all domains.

“You can take your day off!” Billy said in a soft voice.

“ thank you, sir,” Leah replied.

After she was been asked to take a day off work, she decided to go report the case at the police station.

“Good day Sir, I'm Leah Easton and I wanna report a case”

“Okay, good morning miss Leah Easton, please sit down and proceed.” said the police officer.

Leah continued with her complaint and even showed the message she received. The police officer, later on, took the number from which the message was sent and told her they were going to get back to her.

Leah had already laid her complaint, later on, decided to give Kessy a call and to inform her about the current situation.

Kessy’s phone ringing...........

“Hello, Kessy on the phone,”

“ yes Kessy, good day I just wanted to inform you that I already reported the case to the police.” Leah said.

“That’s great, I'm chucked up once I'm done I'll call you and we'll talk better.”

“Okay, have a nice day.” Leah said and later dropped the call.

By this time, Leah felt a little bit relieved because she had reported the case to the police and they had promised to get back to her with more information concerning the strange message.

The following day was August 20, the Wednesday was a very cold one, the climate was so cold with rising temperatures, everyone spotted outside was dressed in heavy pullovers. Leah couldn't be late at her job site, so she did her possible best to get early enough. There was a meeting between Mr. Stallone’s staff and Mrs. Elssie’s staff. The meeting was conducted in a private rented hall, the hall was so beautiful, and white lights sparkling from each corner of the hall, beautiful flowers deposited at each center of the hall and their scents were just lovely. the hall was appreciated by everyone, and then Leah Easton could be proud of herself, for she was the one who decided how the hall was gonna be decorated to receive the two staff. The meeting started at exactly 10:30 am, the two teams debated, on some topics, some were considered and accepted while some were rejected and some were put under investigation as to be considered or rejected. Leah was busy writing down points provided by Mr. Stallone. By 2 pm the meeting was already coming to an end, and then later they had a little bite of food and drink. Then they were set to go, Mrs. Elsie appreciated the work conducted by Mary Peters and Leah she was so much impressed and congratulated Billy for having such an effective staff. Later on, Leah took the direction heading to her room and on the way she was much happy that Mrs. Elssie appreciated her job, she was all blushing, and just went she was about to get a taxi to drive her home, she fell on Sharon,

“Hey sis,” Sharon said with a smile on her face.

“Remove that now!” Leah said.

“Aren’t you my sis?” while laughing harder,

“I rather die than be your sister you prostitute”

“Why do you call me hawl? Oh because I'm married to your husband? Already told you that, your husband sorry ex-husband who is now my husband was the one who forced himself, on me so don't get angry sis.” Sharon said while smiling.

“ I don't know why you're getting things twisted, I don't care about the both of you can't you see it?”

“Okay, so you've still not been able to put to birth?” Sharon asked.

“And you, have you given birth? Do you know I don't regret hitting you three years ago?” Leah said while smiling.

Sharon got angry and, was furious

“But I'm the one who owns your husband now and you know what he’s a beast and he fucks me so hard,” Sharon Lee said with a smile on her face.

“I don't care how hard he fucks you, just know I don't give a damn about the two of you guys”

“All the expensive jewelry, expensive necklaces, expensive clothes, expensive handbags, and the rest I now put them on, you are just a simple assistant,” Sharon said, still with a smile on her face.

“You own them now because you were just a cheap prostitute who couldn't honor her dirty body”

“I don't care how you call me sis, just put in mind that I'm the boss now and you stepped low who would have taught, the almighty Leah Easton been a simple assistant” Sharon replied while laughing harder.

While the two half-sisters, were conflicting, Evelyn Lee just burst out from the back and was very surprised to see Leah after three years.

“What’s happening here?” Evelyn asked,

“Mummy, it's Leah, she met me on my way and started pouring insults on me.” Sharon replied with a soft voice.

“Oh! Leah you're still alive and strong? I had long time forgotten about you, so what brought you back here in Hilton?” Evelyn asked.

“At first, I respected you because you were my mother-in-law, but I won't hesitate to scold you if you don't respect yourself.” Leah pointed out.

Evelyn Lee was so surprised that Leah talked back at her. Leah had never answered back at Evelyn, even when Evelyn, laid hands on her, she was still very humble.

“So you now talk back at me?” Evelyn asked,

“Sure! You're not my mum, and besides, I won't tolerate any form of disrespect either from you or anyone” Leah retorted.

“Mum, I told you she is very disrespectful,” Sharon said.

“Have always known you were a spoiled brat, I just needed time to confirm that” Evelyn in anger,

“I’m not gonna fall for your provocation.” Leah answered.

Leah left them and took her taxi for her minuscule room. Evelyn Lee and Sharon Cook equally left for home and continued their conversation with Jackson Lee.

“Son, imagine who we saw on our way,” Evelyn, said.

“Who?” Jackson asked.

“Your ex-wife Leah Easton, she was looking all pale and frustration” Sharon intervened.

“Oh?”

“I told you that, that girl was very disrespectful but you didn't believe me if you were present to see how this girl humiliated me” Evelyn, mention.

“I’m so choked mum, please don't take it personally.”Jackson said.

“20th August, to be remembered I'll not forget this day” Evelyn, and Sharon said.

The day passed on, the next day Leah reported to her job site, she was in a sub building with Mary Peters they discussed the meeting they had with Mrs. Elssie’s staff, they talked and had some fun.

Mr. Stallone’s car just entered the building, and as usual, they all stood firm to welcome the arrogant boss.

“ Good morning Sir,”

“Good morning staff hope you had a sound sleep?” Billy said, with a little smile on his face. This was the first time Billy smiled at his staff and again they were all surprised.

“Leah report to my office,” Billy said.

“Here am I sir,”

“I’ll want you to organize a special dinner with the administrative staff this is to celebrate the collaboration between our company with that of Mrs. Elssie’s company” Billy pointed out.

“Okay sir,” Leah replied.

“This is for next week,”

“Noted sir!”

“That’s all, get back to work” Billy pointed out.

Leah got back to her office, she kept on compiling documents when she heard her phone rang, it was her uncle.

“Hello, my daughter,”

“Hello, uncle,”

“How are you doing? Hope you're okay,”

“Yes uncle I'm good and you?”

“I’m equally good my daughter, I wanted to hear your voice, so decided to call.”

“Thanks so much, uncle, it's equally good hearing your voice, I feel relief.”

“Okay, I'm happy you're good I guess I gotta leave you to work, I know you're very busy.”

Leah’s uncle dropped the call, and there was a gentle smile that appeared on her face, she was glad to know her uncle is fine. She continued with her work, and this time Mary Peters joined her. The two ladies kept on working and discussing, from the main buildings you could perceive noise from the crowd, meaning Billy just left. When the almighty boss is around even a simple pen isn’t supposed to make the slightest noise. So any noise from the building meant, Billy had left the building.

After work, Leah and Kessy had an appointment, at a nearby lounge saloon. The two friends were just having a good time, discussing life, around a good cold, white wine. Kessy did not hesitate to ask Leah, about the gathering between Billy's staff and Mrs. Elssie’s staff.

“How did the meeting go on?”

“It went on well,”

“I’m glad everything went on as you had programmed.”

“Thanks my friend.” Leah replied with a smile on her face.

The next day, was a Saturday, and Leah was on her off day. She decided to do some laundry, cook, and go to the supermarket to get some stuff for herself and her friend Kessy.
