Chapter 11: Their return

After the beach, Billy and Leah were back to the hotel, Billy went to his room to take his shower to take his dinner, that was the same for Leah she was so much tired that it took her time to undress, after that she went to the bathroom had her bath and dressed up while waiting for dinner to be served. She couldn't stop thinking about what happened earlier at the beach, how Billy looked at her with so much passion, she wished Billy was feeling what she was feeling for him, nevertheless, there was a knock on her door, it was the waitress, she was about to serve dinner, Leah opened the door and the lady entered served the food and when she was about to go something happened, Leah asked the lady if she was beautiful. The lady was surprised, she looked at Leah again and asked if the question was for her and Leah said yes, she still repeated the question, this time the lady taught Leah was getting out of her senses, but anyway, she answered the question. She told Leah she was very beautiful, immediately she said that Leah stood at went to the mirror and said the lady should repeat what she just said and the lady said the same thing. Oh my God, Leah was behaving like a little kid, now, the waitress left her room and while going back to the kitchen she was wondering what might have triggered Leah to ask her such questions, this because looking at Leah she was already a grown-up woman who did not need to ask such questions, she simply went to the kitchen and forgot about it.

This time Leah was feeling crazy, asking the question from waitress, she imagined Billy answering at her place, not long she went to bed.

Sara was on a call with Sharon and as usual, Leah’s name couldn't be absent from their discussion,

“Hello my good friend, how was your day?” Sara asked while leaning on her bedroom wall,

“My day was good and yours?” Sharon replied while trying to get herself a cup of coffee.

“I’m good.” Sara said.

This time Jackson was in the living room discussing with his mum, they were talking about his late father’s wealth. Jackson’s dad was equally wealthy and in his testament, it was written that only after Jackson turn’s 40 that he was gonna receive his heritage, it was only after Jackson received his heritage before his mum Evelyn could receive hers. Evelyn was reminding Jackson of the agreement because she needed money, right from Evelyn’s young age, she had always developed a passion for money, she was so much in love with money that she had refused to get married to her first fiancé just because he couldn’t give her the type of life she had always dreamt of. Hence she was interested in Jackson’s dad just because the type of life she had always desired was secured by his side. Jackson Lee already knew why his mum was reminding him of the heritage, he just avoided his mum and went to his bed, Sharon equally followed him.

The next morning in Las Vegas, was sunny as it was already 8 am, it was just at this moment that Leah woke up, she was still unable to see clearly, she rushed to the restroom to pour some water on her face and took her bath at once. Billy was also getting ready for their walk, they were visiting an orphanage that morning. This time, Leah had was set before Billy and waited for him outside, as usual, the driver was already around, once Billy showed himself outside they departed. On their arrival, some kids were outside holding some papers, on the papers they wrote a welcome letter to Billy, the director in charge of the orphanage was equally outside to welcome Billy, he was asked by the directed to take a sit as they already arrived his office, Billy was discussing with the director of the orphanage while Leah was outside playing with the children. On their visit to come to see the orphans, they brought several gifts, and Leah was the one sharing the gifts, she was very emotional while doing this as she embraced every little orphan who came forth to collect his or her gift. Billy from the director’s window could see what was going on, he saw mixed emotions written over Leah’s face, from afar he noticed she was expressing love and sadness, he immediately focused on the director, since he needed his attention. Leah finished sharing the gift and went waiting for her boss in the car, not long ago he was done with the orphanage director, they accompanied back to where his car was, he collected a cheque from Leah and handed it to the director, it was a sum of one hundred thousand dollars, it was given to him to continue taking care of the kids. Billy's parents died when he was much younger, he was later sent to the orphanage by his wicked aunt who wasn't ready to pay his bills, he grew in the orphanage with different toxic children, this explained why he was always harsh and arrogant because he wasn't opportunity to have an easy life. Every month Billy tried his best to visit orphans to alleviate their pains because he knew what it means to grow up without parents, worst still staying in an orphanage. As the director received the cheque he thanked Billy and went back to his office, on their way, Billy wanted to relax his mind a little bit, so he ordered the driver to stop at a nearby club, he needed some glass of liquor to calm down his mind, they arrived and the driver dropped them, he entered and told Leah if she was interested she could join him, Leah did not join him just because he said that she knew he was depressed and wanted to be around him. Billy was a responsible man but that day he lost it, he had taken some good amount of liquor, he sounded perfectly fine whereas he was drunk, in the process he passionately kissed Leah, it was like a dream come true to Leah, several times she had wished her boss gave her just a perk, Leah taught maybe something was about to happen between her boss and herself. It was already time for them to get to the hotel, the driver dropped them, Leah went to her room and Billy same, in bed Leah couldn't stop thinking about the kiss, it was a romantic one, she hoped it stayed for long. The next morning Billy was already up and had finished making his luggage they were leaving Las Vegas back for Hilton, he was at the hotel reception handling over his room key to the receptionist when Leah stepped out, from far she saw Billy and the memories came back, they were very fresh, she came down, greeted her boss and he answered her in the usual way, Leah wasn't angry about how her boss answered her salutations but she was hopping as they kissed the previous day, he might have answered with some caring aspects. They arrived at the airport and their driver wished them a safe flight, Billy and Leah got into the plane and waited for it to kick off. Leah was seated right beside Billy hoping he talked about what had happened the night before their departure, but Billy wasn't saying anything he wasn't even looking at her, instead, he concentrated his time on his magazine, Leah tried everything to catch her boss attention but he wasn't into her, she then took upon herself and asked her boss how was his night and how was feeling about what happened yesterday, Billy answered he was fine but was lost on the second question he then asked Leah what had happened, it was only there Leah discovered Billy was drunk last night reason he couldn’t recall what happened, desperately, she said nothing important, her boss was not the forcing one, he simply went back to his magazine. Leah was shame of herself, she taught something positive was about to happen in her life, but nothing, it was a fake alarm. Throughout their journey, Billy didn’t alter a word he was more than focused on his business magazine, Leah was lost in her taught. At 5 pm the plane landed their hometown Hilton, after the numerous tests they were liberated, Billy’s driver was in the surroundings waiting for him so they could get home. Billy proposed Leah follow them so they could drop her at her residence, she agreed and followed them, while driving for Leah’s resident, there was total silence in the car, it was like a graveyard, even the slightest noise wasn’t heard from behind, they arrived her resident, she dropped out and wished a safe night to Billy.

The next morning at work, the staffs were waiting for them most especially Leah to ask how the journey was beside their arrogant boss. Leah woke up as early as she could to prepare for the job, it was one week without her been going to work. She already had her bath, she was putting on a red straight gown, a low pair of sandals and a white handbag immediately she left for work, on arrival Mary Peters was already present, it was not long she entered the building, once Mary saw Leah from a minor distance she jumped and held her by her waist, she was happy to see her back after a week, that said Leah and Mary we're not used to distancing themselves for so long, ever since Leah started working for Billy she had been one of the best friends Mary had, as she was always ready to give out good advice and covered her when issues arrived at job, Mary followed Leah to her office and they were talking about what happened during the journey, Leah told her everything except the scene which went on before their departure, Leah also said the their holiday was a nice one except that Mr. Stallone was always calm, she also explained the incident which happened in the plane on their way to Las Vegas and told her how she was ashamed after the Lady in the plane referred to her as Billy's wife. Mary was the laughing type, immediately Leah said that she was on her knees laughing, Leah wasn't surprised about her reaction because she already knew who was Mary and she was expecting her to behave in such a manner. After three minutes, Mary stood up and wiped the tears which dropped from her eyes and sat quietly, there was silence from the other side of the building, without thinking they knew it was the Almighty Billy, they quickly rushed to the reception to go welcome their boss. Immediately he entered the building, he noticed even in his absent Mary peters did a good job. The staff greeted him, he responded and demanded to see Mary in his office, as he entered his office, documents were rearrange. In some minutes Mary got to Billy's office, she knocked and when permitted she entered his office.

“Good morning Sir, you requested to see me, here am I,” Mary said while folding her hands behind her back.

“Yes I demanded your present, I admit you did a good job even without my presence,” Billy said while appreciating her.

“ I’m honored Sir,” Mary said, this time her face was directed towards the floor.

“That’s all you can get back to your office.” Billy said.

Mary left Billy's office for her's, she was happy you could feel it from her physique, Billy wasn't the kind one so on occasions he showed you some kindness it was like there was gonna be festive after that. Mary went to her office and patiently waited for a break, to go have something for lunch as her stomach was empty.
