Ch_16

Roshni’s P.O.V.

When I woke up for fazar prayer, Ammi was still sleeping. I remained staring at her peaceful sleeping face.

While caressing her hair, I said, “I can do anything for you ammi. I won’t let

anything happen to you or our..”

I stopped mid-sentence when Ammi opened her eyes.

Before she could say anything, I again

spoke up.

“Prayer time Ammi. You wake up, I am going to check on Tithy.”

Saying this, I got down from bed and left the room hurriedly while thinking, “Ammi didn’t hear me, right?”

To find out what Ammi was doing, I peeped in the room. When I found Ammi going towards washroom, I felt relieved understanding that she didn’t hear anything.

Otherwise she would have behaved differently.

Entering our room, I saw both of the girls were sleeping. Going near the bed when I was about to call them, I saw Heer was holding a photo frame while sleeping which was

about to fall down.

I went to her side hurriedly and took the photo frame from her hand.

Glancing at the photo of the frame, I looked at Heer sadly. The photo was of Tithy and Heer.

Putting the photo frame on the table, I kept staring at their smiling faces of the photo for a while.

I took that photo. No actually Tithy made me take that photo forcefully as generally I never liked taking photos.

Caressing at the photo, I looked straight at Tithy’s face and asked, “Your Api didn’t do anything wrong, right sweetie?”

Neither Tithy nor my mind replied to that question.

Tears rolled down from my eyes

though I was looking at a picture of smiling faces.

Someone actually said it right….

Memories play a confusing role.

They make us laugh when we remember the times that we cried together.

But make us cry when we remember the times that we laughed together!

My thought of chain broke when I heard some sound. When I turned, I found Tithy was making the weird sound while sleeping.

Wiping my tears, I got near her hurriedly and found her sweating and she was moving her head like she was having a nightmare.

Heer also got up from sleep may be hearing that. I put my hand on Tithy's head and called her to make her wake up.

She opened her eyes and sat with a thud while holding my hand just like that day.

She was panting heavily and was not being able to speak. Caressing her hair, I asked her, “What happened sweetie? Did you have a nightmare?”

“I don’t know. I just felt something really bad but what was that I don’t know”

Saying this, she looked at me blankly and I tried to calm her.

“It’s okay sweetie. It’s just a dream. Nothing bad is going to happen. I am right here with you. Don’t worry.”

Her face was still blank. I didn’t understand whether she was convinced. To divert her mind, I again said caressing her hair, “Almighty Allah is with you, sweetie. Nothing bad will happen. Keep faith on him. Everything will be alright. And

its Prayer time now, Tithy. Go for it. Prayer will help you making your mind calm.”

Tithy looked at me with a sad smile and nodded. When she left to washroom, I turned to Heer and said, “I didn’t do it right, Heer.”

Heer replied while shaking her head, “No Api. It’s not only you. It’s us and we didn’t do anything wrong. It was just the demand of situation and I am sure if Tithy was in your shoes, she would have done the same. But..”

She stopped mid-sentence, finding Tithy getting out of the washroom.

Glancing at Tithy, I asked, "You okay, sweetie?"

She nodded but kept mum.

Then I turned back to Heer and said, “We are running out of prayer time. You too go freshen up.”

Saying that, I left the room and came to ammi and found her saying her prayer.

Glancing at the wall clock, I rushed to washroom. After making ablution, I got out of the washroom.

Placing a prayer mat, I started praying. After completing my prayer, I recited the Holy Quran for a while.

Then I made dua (asking something from Almighty Allah) to show me the right path to follow while pouring my heart out under my breath.

After completing, I found Ammi was sleeping again. I went back to Tithy and found her sleeping as well and Heer was caressing her hair. Hearing the sound, Heer looked at me and blinked her eyes assuringly that Tithy was alright now.

I stood there for a while then I kissed on her head lightly.

I got back and went to kitchen to make breakfast for us thinking of random stuff.

Tithy's P.O.V.

When I woke up, it was 8 by morning and Heer was not there in bed. I got down hurriedly and rushed towards washroom.

Being freshen up, I got ready and came out of my room only to find three of them gossiping sitting in the dining area.

I went up to them and they stopped talking and looked at me.

"What's happening here? Why didn't you wake me up, what if I got late? And most importantly what are you discussing and that is also without me?" Glaring at them, I asked.

Api got up and came up to me and asked, "You alright?"

"Yeah. What will happen to me!!??" I replied to api more like questioned her as if nothing happened earlier during prayer time.

"Yeah. Right. Nothing. Now come and have breakfast otherwise you will be late for your office." Api said this while setting table for us.

"That's what I was saying. Give me my breakfast fast", saying this, I sat on the dining table.

After having breakfast, I turned to Heer and said, "Don't you have office today? Why aren't you ready yet?"

"Give me just two minutes" saying this, Heer rushed to my room.

After a couple of minutes Heer came out and said, "I am ready. Let's go."

"Finally you are done with your two minutes." I said to her teasingly and she glared at me.

Greeting Ma and Api, we two took leave from there.

I reached office exactly on time. Being relieved, I entered into the office building and came to my cabin.

I was working on a file when my phone rang off. It was Ruhaan sir. I attended the call immediately.

"Come to my cabin." Saying this, he cut the call.

I rushed towards his cabin and after knocking, I entered there.

"Tithy, I want the progress report of every department in details on the project we are working right now before lunch." He ordered me while working on some file.

"Okay sir."

I got out of his cabin and went to my cabin.

Taking a file, I got out of my cabin.

"Okay. Let's start collecting information" Thinking like this, I started walking towards other departments.

I was done with collecting informations after a couple of hours.

Then I started walking towards Ruhaan sir's cabin.

Entering the cabin after knocking, I found him sitting on his chair that was back facing me.

I started reporting about the progress of the current project of different

departments in detail without bothering to look at him…

When I almost got finished, I found another person sitting on Ruhaan Sir's chair staring at me shockingly.

Being confused I looked around the cabin whether by any chance mistakenly I went to another cabin.

But that was not the case.

Soon my confusion turned into anger, “Who the hell are you and what the hell are you doing in this cabin and how dare you sit on this chair??”

Facing my nonstop angry outburst, the person got dumbstruck.

Getting no answer, I started again.

“Can’t you see? This is Ruhaan sir's cabin. Who are you??!”
