Chapter 7. I Choose You

Elle's mind immediately came up with how nervous she would be when she met Galant.

Archie suddenly smiled. "That's right. Who knows, in three months I can get you, if that time comes the children will follow my family name."

Elle's heart was shocked, she smiled awkwardly at him, then she thought, "Should when I remarry, the children will definitely follow their stepfather's family name?"

Suddenly in Elle's head appeared an image, when the children grew up, then asked her why their family name was different from their father's family name.

Elle knew that suddenly saying that the children should follow her surname must have hurt Archie's feelings, but after hearing Archie's words, she realized, she used to be confused about whose surname the children should follow.

Actually, all she thought about was the surname Devereux or her last name, but it never occurred to her that she would remarry.

The two surnames made Elle confused to death, if she added one more surname, she would definitely go crazy.

Galant sat on the sofa in the meeting room. He crossed his legs casually, his fingers pinching a cigarette.

Seeing the white smoke that was exhaled flying upwards, Elle's heart strangely ached. The two times they met, Elle found Galant always smoking. Elle really doesn't like people who smoke, but every time she sees Galant smoking, she unknowingly remembers the man's face when he was still with her, when he promised to quit smoking.

Elle clenched her fists tightly, then tried to smile at Galant, then her high-heeled feet stepped into the room.

"CEO Galant, how are you? Sorry for making you wait so long." Elle greeted with a smile, extending her hand to shake hands officially.

Galant who saw Elle's arrival stood up while raising his eyebrows and he returned Elle's handshake.

Galant's hand felt warm as if it were flowing electricity, making Elle's heartbeat faster and when Elle had not yet regained consciousness Galant had let go of her hand and sat back down.

Elle still felt Galant's body temperature on her hand. In an instant Elle felt like she had lost something, her eyes were a little wet.

Elle wiggled her fingers, forcing herself to calm down by taking a deep breath.

Elle's expression did look very calm, all because she was trying to cover it up. Especially seeing Galant who was facing her like facing a business partner.

Elle asked herself, "Am I the one who is so unprofessional?"

Elle pursed her lips, then sat in front of Galant. The smell of tobacco made Elle uncomfortable. Elle slowly turned her face and it turned out that Galant noticed her. Finally Galant put out his cigarette that was still half-way in the ashtray.

"You still don't like the smell of cigarettes." Galant's low voice sounded melodious in Elle's ears. Elle's heart trembled as her eyes looked at him. However, unlike Elle, Galant's expression looked very calm.

A few moments later, Galant began to speak while pointing at a document on the table. "This is our company's next work plan, you take a look first and then we'll talk about our cooperation plan."

Elle immediately took the document and read it. In the past few months, Elle had been reading various documents, therefore she could read it quickly. Seeing the contents of the document, Elle frowned even more.

It wasn't because Galant's cooperation plan wasn't good, in fact, the cooperation plan was very good, so good that Elle suspected why Galant came to her company to cooperate. There should be many big companies who would want to get this opportunity.

Elle suddenly remembered Galant's words last night, at that time he said that his company was the last choice, what did he mean by coming today?

"CEO Galant ..." Elle put down the document, then raised her head to look at Galant. "Before that, I wanted to ask. This time you are talking about business, do you actually want to cooperate with the big company Kyne or with the East Trading Company?"

Elle thought, if the cooperation was aimed at the big company Kyne, then the cooperation was very suitable because the work plan came directly from the D'reux Group, not from a subsidiary under the D'reux Group flag.

"East Trading Company," Galant answered while looking at Elle and Galant's answer made Elle furrow her eyebrows even more.

East Trading Company is the company where Elle currently works, the company is a subsidiary of the Kyne Group—Archie's company. Although it has made rapid progress lately, to cooperate independently with a big relationship like the D'reux Group is really unbelievable.

Galant gave this great opportunity, making Elle inevitably suspect that he had other plans.

"I'm afraid the East Trading Company doesn't..." Elle said hesitantly.

"East Trading Company is a subsidiary of the big Kyne company, I understand this. Therefore, I believe that D'reux Group will definitely be able to help East Trading Company to carry out this business agreement."

Elle looked at Galant, then said, "Then CEO Galant... you can find CEO Archie to discuss this cooperation."

Elle smelled the mixed perfume and tobacco, her heartbeat accelerated. Unconsciously, her body moved backwards and leaned against the sofa.

The smile on Galant's face became clearer, as if meaning something. "You are progressing faster than I thought."

Seeing Galant's smile, a sudden feeling of anger arose from Elle.
