Chapter 3. Must Be Able to Open Yourself

"Eleonora Esmond, I promise to prove everything I've said."

Hearing Archie's serious words, Elle's body immediately trembled, but Elle tried to keep smiling. The ring that looked shiny on Elle's ring finger made her hold on. However, it made her feel very unfree.

Now Elle just realized that her actions earlier were really funny and childish, like children who were being accused of being bad, but trying to show that everything was good.

All that because Elle heard Galant say that she would not marry Archie and rashly used this opportunity to agree to the proposal.

"Mr. Devereux, it's been a long time since we met, why are you here?" Elle said while smiling and embracing Archie's arm.

The smile on Galant's lips immediately disappeared. His sexy thin lips formed a straight line. The deep gaze that stared at Elle seemed to hint at something.

Elle had time to think, was the man's current turbulent feelings because of her?

However, no one could give Elle an answer and she couldn't ask him.

"Work matters," Galant replied as he shifted his gaze from Elle to Archie. "Mr. Kyne, your company's import-export business is quite good. If there is a chance, I would like to work with you."

"I'm flattered," Archie replied with a smile.

Without realizing it, Elle bit her lip. There were several times she wanted to talk to Galant, but she kept cursing herself in her heart like a cheap person.

"I won't bother you guys enjoying your meal again. Hopefully something good will happen soon. Until then, don't forget to invite me to your wedding." Galant said with a smile and then left as if there was no longing.

Elle's heart suddenly felt like it was hit by a hard object, Elle bit her lip tightly. Galant's treatment of her earlier was like she hadn't met an ordinary acquaintance for a long time. Elle admitted that she was a little disappointed.

"Why did Galant say don't forget to invite him to our wedding? Doesn't he care if I marry Archie?"

Elle suddenly remembered someone who used to be jealous of Archie. Elle missed when that man unreasonably found out about Archie.

Remembering that, Elle's eyes felt hot. She immediately lowered her head to cover her feelings.

"Elle ...." Archie's voice called out.

With her heart still in turmoil. Elle pretended to fix her hair and rubbed her eyes.

"What's wrong?" Elle answered Archie's call with a smile, but she avoided Archie's gaze.

"Are you still unable to forget it?"

Elle bit her lip again, then said, "You said carelessly, how could I—"

"You gripped my hand tightly." Archie said while glancing at Elle.

"Sorry, sorry ... I didn't mean to," said Elle who felt bad and kept apologizing as she released her grip on Archie's arm.

"I know you didn't mean to. You just couldn't hold back your feelings." In Archie's voice there was a soft sigh.

At that time Elle didn't know what to do, she could only be silent and stare at the ring that was now wrapped around her ring finger. The ring that looked sparkling under the spotlight with a large diamond in the middle of the ring. It was so big that Elle felt burdened that she couldn't lift her hand. I don't know if the heavy feeling arose because of the size of the diamond or because of the reluctance in her heart.

Archie said that, meaning he already knew everything, but earlier he still helped Elle.

Elle felt very guilty, remembering her debt of gratitude to Archie was getting bigger so Elle felt she shouldn't keep making mistakes.

Elle raised her hand, she wanted to take off the ring on her finger and return it to Archie, but didn't know how to say it. When Elle touched the ring, Archie held Elle's hand and pulled her back to sit down.

"I know you did it on purpose, if he didn't ask, you wouldn't have accepted the ring from me".

Archie had nothing to hide. He could say all of Elle's heart, suddenly Elle didn't know what to say.

From Archie's eyes, there was a little lack of confidence. "I know you have a hard time forgetting Galant. In the past few months I know you have looked at his photo several times," Archie said with a smile.

Archie's smile looked very gentle, but it looked like he was helpless, then he continued his words. "I can understand you because I can't forget you either."

"Archie ...."

"Maybe this is fate". Archie smiled. "I don't care whether you believe it or not, but I do."

"If Galant hadn't appeared, you wouldn't have received my ring. Therefore, can I interpret that God deliberately arranged for Galant to appear?

Elle... you have worn this ring, I will not let you take it off. Three months! Can it only be three months? Don't reject me again, give us both a chance. Maybe, you will know that being with me is not the wrong choice?"

Maybe because of Archie's very serious expression or maybe because after meeting Galant Elle's heart became a mess until she finally nodded her head as a sign of agreeing to Archie's request.

Suddenly Archie looked very happy, but it was clear that Elle's appetite had disappeared.

Seeing that Elle no longer intended to continue eating, Archie invited her to leave the restaurant and took her for a walk in a park.

Elle's hands held the coffee and hotdog she bought on the street, then walked in the park with Archie. Elle ate leisurely, a leisurely life like this made her feel like her life had changed.

"Do you feel like taking a leisurely walk like this once in a while makes you feel better?" asked Archie who looked at Elle from the side, his lips smiling.

Elle nodded her head. Since arriving abroad, Elle had been busy working every day. The past half year her progress has been very rapid, everyone can see it.

Archie often advised Elle to be more relaxed. Many things are not easily achieved, but just by keeping myself busy, I no longer think about negative things.

Like now, even though she was walking in the park with Archie, but her mind was full of the situation when she met Galant at the restaurant.

"Elle, be happy." Suddenly Archie held Elle's hand and immediately surprised Elle. While looking into Elle's eyes, Archie continued his words. "Elle, promise me to give me three months."

Elle was silent, but Archie kept smiling and kept talking. "Don't reject me, learn to enjoy it".

Elle smiled reluctantly and nodded her head. At the age of 26 this year, she had been married twice and divorced twice plus now she was the mother of 2 children, so she was no longer allowed to do something uncertain. However, she was really not used to being intimate with Archie like now.

Luckily Archie didn't take any further action, he just held Elle's hand and took a leisurely walk. Elle kept telling herself that since she had given Archie 3 months, in these three months she had to be more open.
