Chapter 3: Aragorn Beorhtwulf

Aragorn Beorhtwulf

Grain Ville, the last city where demons haven't heard of nor paid no heed for. It was as if the chaos didn't happened before my eyes everyone was doing their own thing conversing, work, market and so much more. If I didn't see the guy who been yelling that the wicked beings are coming, I would have really thought that this place is neverseen or never heard outside. This city looks so peaceful and normal, ironically.

Clearing my thoughts I started examining the place and tried looking for a place to sleep in and of course find someone who knows everything.

Seem likes my presence is noticed by everyone and the look of fear, confusion and disgust immediately raced to their faces.

"Who's that? I never saw him before..." A curios little girl asked

"Lily! Get back inside, go!" A woman commanded. It appears to be the girl's mom, she reluctantly nod and confused then started running back to what I assume their home.

"He's one of those creatures outside! I'm sure of it!" A man said feeling scared but at the same time wanted to look brave although he obviously doesn't show it.

"I agree! Look at him all bloody! We must warn everyone." Said another woman pointing at my bloody figure.

"Wait! What if he hurt us? I don't want to die neither do I want to get involved." Another one said in fright and immediately avoid staring at me.

"Oh dear Lord help us from this demon!" Someone suddenly shouted.

People started sharing their words so fast that it could reach outside this city. I remained my cold expression and continued walking to the bar. I don't really nor need to care about what they think, what I do need is to stop this disaster from becoming more or even having more disaster.

With one thought in mind, I quickly go inside the bar and look through the counter. There I see the one I am looking for...

Vince... Who knows everything... Including what happened 3 years ago.

The moment he saw me, his face hardened looking at me knowingly while wiping his glass. Some of the people who seen me going near the bar, they immediately move away and avoided me like I'm some sort of a disease. Though it looks disrespectful, I don't really care about it too much I'm not here to entertain them anyway.

When we're finally face to face, he stopped what he was doing and stared at me waiting for me to speak.

"Any names left?" I asked while signaling to another bartender to give me some drinks.

"None that the other had already taken care of." He said while going back to wiping glasses.

I looked at him questionly and curious. "What do you mean?"

"Someone is doing your job too."

I furrowed my eyebrows confused of who would be this someone. As far as he know, no one survived at the village nor did he think someone has the guts to do so.

"You're really clueless, aren't you? Even I am surprised, especially when it's a young lady." He stated with a ghostly smile then immediately returning to his normal expression.

Well that get me more confused. A lady?

"Who is it?" I asked curiously. Then a door banged behind me which appears to be the front door.

"She's right behind you." Vince snickered making me more curious then turned around and glance at the said 'young lady'.

The moment I saw her, something in me makes me want to get closer to her it was as if this girl is pulling a chain where it is connected and linked in my body. But something's off, suddenly sniffing the air that I noticed. This lady is not just a lady by looks of her, she looks eerily pale, ravishing like a porcelain doll yet I can definitely tell that she's undead. I don't get it, why would she do these deeds, especially when her kind is one of it? Still feeling the urge, I tried to stopped myself from doing stupid acts and calmed my insides.

The lady must have finally noticed me when she suddenly walked straight at me or maybe for Vince? With that I tried to leave and just ignore this feeling until a figure blocks my way.

Looking down at the small body, I came face to face with the lady whom I assumed to be a vampire. From my close view, I could see her dull blue eyes looking straight at my eyes that it could bore a hole in it. She has pink plump lips and had a clothe like a witches would wear, not that it's worse than mine I guess it could get her through a winter. After checking her out still having my cold expressionless face, she continued to stare at me like she was in deep thoughts it seems that this going nowhere. I decided to move pass her and stop this senseless matter. When I was a few steps away I heard her small voice yet so cold, if it weren't for my werewolf hearing I wouldn't have heard her. But what I heard makes me more confused than ever.

"Aragorn Beorhtwulf..." I glance back at her seemingly confuse as to why she knows my name. Then a thought comes to mind, she must be here to kill me. Instead giving a straight answer I tried to play it safe especially if I don't know what she's capable of.

"Looks can really be deceiving." I said amused at her and shook my head leaving the bar at once.

While walking through the forest I can still smell her scent, she's obviously following not even knowing that I sensed her already or maybe that is her plan? Finally wanting to get this over with, I stopped from my tracks and looked at her direction.

"What do you want?" I asked coldly towards her. behind the tree she reveals herself looking at me with those sad yet ice eyes.

"I want you..." she paused as if thinking what she just said. I just looked at her bored and waited for her to continue. Geez as interesting this girl is, I don't have time for this. Then her next words immediately changes the atmosphere making me glare at her petite figure.

"I want you dead!"
