Chapter 8: Samontes Family

Don Haris Vorex was sitting in a swivel chair while staring with his pair of blue eyes in front of five men. And then, he gazed at Ace.

Ace swallowed while staring and waiting for their father's reaction.

Don Haris was sitting, while the five of them are standing. They were both nervous at their father's sharp stare. They could not even move a little out of fear.

"I know that all of you are shock because I am here. But, I came back here, not because of a business meeting. But, because I heard some gossips that one of you, have a new agenda, except for working in our company. "

They stared at each other. Not sure which of them the father was referring to.

What news did their father hear about them? Was that a big deal and their father suddenly showed up?

"Father, can you tell us which one of the five you are referring to?" Hellias suddenly asked.

Ace shook his head. At any rate, Hellias had little fear for their father. As he was, he only followed one word of it.

"Just keep your mouth shut, Hell." Their father said firmly. He grinned. Their father looks angry again. "When I call one of your names, leave in this room. Is that clear?" An old man added and then stood up while losing the necktie.

"Yes, Father."

He already felt the nervousness of the brothers, as he is. He did not know which of them their father referring to.

They need to prepare themselves for whatever the outcome of this encounter will be.

"Zaro, leave," their father began.

It looks like a thorn in the side pulled out their youngest brother when their father called his name.

Zaro immediately left the conference room. They are the four only left. One down, four remains.

"Hell," Don Haris called next.

Hell came out serious and left only the three of them. Two down, three remains.

Their father is still struggling as he gives them a hard look. The tension-filled the room and the three men feel while waiting for the next name to be pronounced.

They hold their breath while not separating their gaze from it. "Ram."

Three down, two remain. He took a deep breath. Adon and he are the only ones left.

"Adon, leave. And you Ace, remain. We need to talk," father said, firmly.

His older brother Adon just tapped him on the shoulder.

He had already prepared himself for what his father could do to him. But he is wondering what did he do wrong. He could not understand. The company he manages has no problem.

Is there something else? And, that's why he didn't know what their father's reason was.

"I haven't done something wrong, father." He immediately said.

Even though his father is old, he still has the strength to punch him.

Don Haris approached and threatened him. He could feel his father's anger. Ace grimaced, he is in trouble.

"Raxcer 'Ace' Vorex. I told you already about that woman named Aurora Samontes. I told you before that you should avoid her. But, what you've done? You make again a reason to back her in your life! Are you out of your mind ?! "

His forehead furrowed. He had great respect for his father. But, it seems at this time he can no longer control himself.

Why does his father be mad at Aurora? What did the Samontes do to his father and make him angry?

He smirked and pushed his father away. He could no longer resist. He needs to know what makes his father angry. He needs to know the truth.

"What ?! Tell me, father, while I still have respect for you. Answer my question," he said, firmly. At the same time, he stared at an old man wickedly.

"Why are you so mad at Aurora? Why are you so furious at the Samontes? What did they do to you and you are like that? Tell me, why father!"

He was surprised by what he did because his eyes did not blink as he stared.

His father seems still processing everything that he shouted.

He shook his head. He could no longer understand everything. The one he hates is that someone dictates to him what he should do.

And, it just so happened that his father did that. He is no longer the former Raxcer, who is submissive to what he asked him to do. He is no longer the former weak Raxcer.

"How did you, shout at me like that ?! You bastard!" His father suddenly shouted when he woke up to what he had shouted earlier.

He ignored his father's shout. "I need an answer now! Tell me why are you hating so much the Samontes ?! Tell me, why! Right now, right here, Father!"

His patience is running out. He is exhausted. He was still hot-headed because he and Aurora did not continue to meet and talk today. It was ruined because of his Father.

"You need an answer?" His father repeated itself as if it is also challenging.

He answered, rudely. "Yes, I need an answer."

"I hated so much the Samontes, because their family is the ones who killed your mom. . .”

Raxcer's world seemed to collapse when he heard his father's answer.

Is he just mistaken in what he hears or is he just deaf?

But, what he heard was even clearer in the light of day. "D-did you say . . ." He could not continue what he was going to say when his father nodded.

The anger feels for the old man also seems to subside.

If the Samontes was one of the causes of his Mother's death. If they were the ones who killed his Mother. Then, the family Samontes is one of the attempted families to consume their clans.

He wiped his face. It's impossible. The woman he loved was one of the reasons for his mother's death. He couldn't believe it.

"No! This is not true!" He suddenly shouted and punched the wall in front of him.

"No! This is not true! Tell me, father! This is not true!" He said, insanely.

He did not know how he would react after hearing the truth.

"It's true, Ace," the Father seriously promised him.

He shook his head as he looked at it wickedly.

He hurried out of the conference room. He walked straight down the hallway while his gaze hardened.

He ignored his brothers when he met them in the lobby.

He was right out of their building when he met Aurora.

Suddenly, his eyesight darkened. He abruptly pulled the woman out and closed to the inside of their building.

"You're going to pay for your sin. I will pay you for the sin you committed against my Mother. I will pay you for destroying my heart again." He said, angrily.

The shock in the eyes of Aurora was obvious but Ace ignored it. Nothing runs through his mind anymore, except for the anger and hatred that he feels right now.

"W-what are you talking about--"

"I want to kiss you right now," he said without hesitation then he immediately covered Aurora's lips.

Oh, for goodness sake! After long years, he tasted Aurora's lips again. How he misses her?

It's been five years.
