10: CABIN

"What?" Taehyung blurted out, "did you suddenly got pregnant when I saved you on the pool?" He asked almost sarcastically.

"Huh? No!" Nica said covering her face with her hands.

It was taking too long, her hands on her face, shoulders moving on an up and down motion.

Taehyung started to walk towards her, was she crying?

He was about to extend his hands but she finally met his eyes again.

"Okay that's funny," she said containing her laugh while biting her lips. But soon her face became serious, "sorry for dragging you into this, I seriously don't know what to do. It's just that you're the one who told me to face my problems and now," she sighed looking down on the floor with a blank expression, "with what I did, my parents are going to kill me."

"Sure thing they will."

She darted her eyes back to Taeyung only to see his rectangular smile and she couldn't help but to smile as well.

"Right, that's what I wanted anyways."

"Hey!"

"Just kidding," she said waving her hand for reassurance. "But seriously what should I do now?"

"Just tell them you had cold feet."

"Nope, that's not gonna cut it."

"Tell them you suddenly felt constipated and needed to go."

"What??!"

"Your dog died?"

"I don't have a dog!"

"Ah!" Taehyung exclaimed, clicking his fingers together. "Your friend's dog died!"

Nica just looked at him as if saying, "seriously?"

"I know now!" Taehyung said clapping once.

"What?" She looked at him uninterested.

"Tell them you have a boyfriend."

She froze, looking at him with widen eyes. Shock was apparent with her expression but that changed to something he couldn't figure.

"You do realize that's stupid of you to say that," she stated.

"Why? I think it's the best idea I had aside from the dog."

"Because you're a guy. The only guy who knows of my situation," she paused, Taehyung weren't following what she's saying though, but he continued to listen.

"So now," Nica continued, "you're the only one I could ask to be my fake boyfriend."

She looked at him waiting for the guy to scream at the top of his lungs, a single word 'no', but when he spoke, she had to make him repeat what he just said.

"Come again?" She said thinking maybe she heard him wrong.

"I said I'm in," Taehyung said smiling.

---

"Thank you Khim," you smiled at the receptionist of the hotel, she handed Junghee to you with a smile.

"He's a very behave young man," Khim said winking at the little kid and your son giggled.

"Are you alright Miss Y/N?" The lady asked looking at you with concern.

"Yes, of course," you said faking a smile.

"I heard about the wedding being a disaster, what happened exactly?"

"We'll get going now," you said turning around pretending not to have heard what she just said.

It has been a long day.

You lay with your back on the bed, Junghee was finally asleep and Taehyung was nowhere to be found. You were worried about your best friend, you tried calling him but his phone only rang endlessly then after a few seconds he texted you saying 'I'm okay, no worries,' and that's it.

You weren't feeling well since the morning and the event at the wedding only added to your unending headaches.

Shifting your position on the bed, you rolled yourself into a ball, hugging your knees to your chest. It was especially cold tonight as the snowflakes fall from the darkened sky.

It was getting hard to breathe again, and you could feel your heartbeat getting faster.

Those hurtful words from Jungkook kept on repeating inside your head and the uncomfortable feeling only worsen due to the cold.

You stood up and went to the medicine cabinet ready to get what you needed when you realized it's empty.

Stupid.

You forgot to buy a new set of your medicine.

You checked on Junghee who was sleeping peacefully and decided to call Taehyung again hoping the guy would finally answer, then you heard the front door opening.

"Tae," you walked towards him grabbing your coat, "I'll just gonna get something fast, Junghee's sleeping. We'll talk when I get back," you said pointing at him as you stood by the threshold.

You tighten the coat around your body but it didn't help to lessen the freezing sensation as the icy wind blew past you.

By the time you got inside your car, your hands were already trembling from the cold. But that didn't matter now since your attack was getting even worse.

"Ug-gh," you gripped on the stirring wheel and started to drive off to the nearest pharmacy.

The road was slippery due to the building snow on the ground, and a few curses left your lips whenever your tires squeaked and you tried to get back on track when you lost your sense of direction.

"Damn," you mumbled, you couldn't see the road. The snow fall was getting heavy and if that continued you would be stuck there due to the mounting crystal snow.

All of the stores you passed through were already closed leaving you no choice but to keep moving forward.

You heard your phone rang and you immediately answered it putting it on speaker.

Dark patches on your eyes were starting to appear, and you're sure you might collapse right then and there if you wouldn't calm down.

"Hello?" You spoke loudly.

"Y/N?!" Taehyung's voice screamed from the speakers, his voice was full of worry.

"T-tae, I--," it was a bit hard to speak properly since you needed to catch your breath.

The strong wind and snow blocking your way was making you nervous, you needed to take shelter.

"Where the hell are you?" Taehyung asked screaming, "there's a f*cking snow storm coming this way!"

"I didn't know," you said breathless, looking around you for anything to spend the night at.

"Are you okay? You don't sound okay! Are you having an attack again? Y/N?!"

He sounded like he's walking, "I'm going after you."

"No, Tae, just take care of Junghee, I'm fine. I'm seeing an abandoned cabin now, I'm just going to spend the night there."

"I could leave Junghee at the re--."

'I'm sorry sir, guests are not allowed to leave the hotel due to the snow storm,' you heard a man's voice said to your best friend.

"WHAT? THE F*CK! You just let my friend went out just a while ago!"

'The news came in just now sir so--."

"SHUT IT!"

"Tae," you said trying to make him hear you over the phone, "it's fine--."

And the call ended.

You entered the cabin, and sat on the floor with your back against the concrete wall, cold seeping through the cracks burning your shoulder blades, passing through your skin and gripping tight onto your lungs. The cold inside the tiny house diminished a little bit but you were sure that if you stay there until the morning with your wet clothes on, you'll end up freezing still.

With your hand pressed against your left chest, you tried to calm yourself down as you close your eyes.

---

"What's this commotion all about?" A man's voice rang from behind Taehyung and he immediately turned around to face Jungkook.

"None of your business," he spat out and he saw Jungkook's jaw clenched and he ready his knuckles.

"Everything around here is my business," the man said looking intently onto Taehyung's eyes matching your best friend's fiery ones with his.

"U-uhm, sir, he was trying to leave the hotel, and we didn't allow him because of the storm," the guard said.

"See, we were just concerned about you and you're trying to cause a scene here?"

Goodness! How stupid this man could be?

Taehyung was trying so hard not to punch the lights out of Jungkook but the guy was making it hard for him.

Jungkook's way of speaking was getting into his nerves, it's as if the guy knows everything when in fact he know shit about what you've been through.

That he was the reason why you were this broken and sick at the same time.

All because of him.

Taehyung grabbed Jungkook's collar and gritted his teeth as he mumbled under his breath.

"If Y/N dies, it'll be your f*cking fault."

---

He cursed with all his might as be stepped on the gas.

The moment Taehyung said that you got stock out there on the storm, his body just voluntarily moved, feet ran the best they could towards his car not even looking back at the people calling for him.

Don't get it wrong though, he's still mad at you and him doing all these was just because he has responsibility over his customers.

That's all.

There's an only one abandoned cabin he knew of and he prayed so hard that that's where you are.

---

You heaved, taking in a deep breath and letting it out. You stared at the fog you created as your hot breath materialized on the cold wind and soon vanished into thin air.

Your heart finally calmed down, but a sharp pain could still be felt whenever you breathe from time to time.

The cold though was your problem.

You already removed the wet coat you were wearing earlier leaving you with only your thin sleeping clothes on so you were trembling really hard.

If only you have the strength to make a fire.

You promised yourself to always bring a lighter with you from now on.

You wonder if Junghee was still asleep.

The boy might start looking for you if he wakes up and started crying.

You close your eyes trying to erase the image of your baby boy crying and a tear fell down your cheek.

The door to the cabin suddenly burst open and a strong gush of wind entered making you let out a soft whimper as you shivered from the cold.
