Chapter 2

Alisha's Pov

It's our third day here at the beach resort and I can say that my stay here was a happy one. Yes, it's just me. Because my partner is always busy with work so he doesn't enjoy the beautiful view here but I plan to invite him to take a walk here so that somehow he can enjoy his page-stay here not just for work.

I am now in my room facing my laptop while having a video call with my friend Shara. She's my best friend since I'm in grades school and her family is also close to my family.

"So what, beshie, how was your honeymoon with your husband? Was it delicious? Big?" My eyes widened because of his question and I felt like my whole face was red like a tomato.

"W-what are you doing Shara, h-we didn't do anything like that. You really are the dirt on your brain." I said annoyed to cover the shame I felt.

"If you didn't do anything, why are you blushing and why are you acting so angry? Tell me the truth. It's just me, so don't be shy." He said teasingly and I just worked hard on gaga.

"Shut up ok and how many times do I have to tell you that nothing happened okay? As in nothing." I finally said it but my local friend just laughed at me.

"Okay, you said that. By the way, when you come back here to Manila, let's go shopping. My dresses are old in my closet and I want new ones." I just shook my head and answered yes because it's his hobby to change his clothes in his closet every month. Rich kid. I'm also rich but I'm not obsessed with dresses no and for me its just a waste of time and money. Like duh? His clothes in the closet can still be used, but after a month he gives them to the maids or donates them to those in need. How generous of her, right?

We talked for half an hour before we ended the video call. I was about to turn off my laptop when an email popped up so I checked it and saw that it was Linda who emailed me. Linda is my secretary in my small business which is a fine dining restaurant.

He just emailed me the updates about the stocks that have been used up and we need to buy new ones and of course the income day by day.

Even though I'm not at my restaurant, I know that Linda can handle it for the time being. She's one of my trusted employees and a friend too, so I'm satisfied that even if I'm not there, my business will be fine.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

"Come in." I said and turned off the laptop because I finished reading Linda's email.

The door opened and Rosa came in. He is the butler and caretaker of this house. He still has two maids with him but they also go home. They are not staying in helpers since this house is only a vacation. They just clean it as their job.

"Hija, I'm sorry to bother you, but your husband is calling you. He's in the living room." I nodded and said I'll be next. After he left, I put my laptop on the side table of the bed and left the room to go to the living room.

I saw Axel in the living room and he was facing his beloved laptop again. I sat on the couch opposite him.

"Did you just call me?" I asked and took a sandwich from the glass table between us.

"Ah yes. I just want to tell you that we're headed back to Manila tomorrow. There's an emergency in my company and I need to fix it as soon as possible." He said coldly without looking at me. I nodded because that was in my favor since I miss my restaurant too.

"Ok. It's fine with me but before we go back can I make a wish?" I said smiling and looking cute at him hehe.. I hope it works even though it's very impossible.

"Spill it."

"Let's have some fun before we'll go." I told him he frowned and looked at me. "What do you mean?" I sighed before answering. "What I mean is let's both go for a walk first. In the time we've been here I haven't seen you leave the house. I want you to enjoy yourself before we leave."

"I don't have time for that. I'm busy." He said it was still cold. I pout my lips and moved to sit next to him. Because the couch he was sitting on was big, he held her in his strong arms. "Alright, because you agreed. Alright, I'll report you to mama Zyrine that you're neglecting me." I grumbled here while shaking his arm. He looked at me badly but I didn't move.

The strong ones are left but I won't give up. I will make sure that I win!

"Stop your childish act stupid and let go of my arm if you don't want to be punished." I teased him even more even though I felt nervous about what he said. His voice was cold as ice and so was his facial expression.

"No! I won't let you go unless you agree to what I want." I said firmly. I saw him shake his head and sigh and what he said next made me smile with victory.

"Fine. Let's tour around before we'll leave."

And because Axel agreed to let us go for a walk before we left, here we are, walking along the beach. It's afternoon and it's close to sunset and that's one of the things I really want to watch.

There are also less people in the sea because maybe most of them are already at the hotel and eating dinner and there are a few people who are preparing for bonfire.

I only took pictures because the view was really beautiful, especially since it was close to sunset.

"Your really enjoying this huh." I stopped taking a picture and looked at the person next to me who was looking at me coldly.

"Of course not. I don't want to waste the chance that I came here and I won't even enjoy my stay here and hello, we're going home tomorrow so I'm going to make the most of this day." I said and continued taking pictures.

Half an hour passed and the sunset was starting to set, so I pulled Axel to the side which was a really good place to watch the sunset.

"Wow! The sunset is really beautiful hehe.." I said laughing and took a picture of the sunset.

"Why did you agree to marry me?" The person next to me asked out of nowhere. I looked at it and saw that it was also staring at me so I looked away. I can't have a staring contest with him.

I took a deep breath before answering. "It was because of my grandfather. To be honest I really don't want to get married because that's not in my mind yet. I just want to enjoy my life as a single and I'm not ready to be in a relationship yet." I said while still looking at the sunset.

"Then why?" This is another question. I smiled a little at this. "Grandpa said that we need your money to invest in our company. At first I didn't believe that the company run by grandpa was losing money because how could that happen, grandpa is already a master in that field but he showed some evidences and he said that we need you to rise again for the company that he has cared for and valued for a long time, that's why he came to your family." I have a long explanation here.

"You really love your grandfather that much to think that you sacrifice your happiness and freedom." I just shook my head at what he said.

"Yeap! Grandpa Andro is my family now and about what your saying that I sacrifice my happiness and freedom by marrying you, I don't think so."

"Why?"

"I can be happy even if I'm married with you, right? And you probably won't forbid me to be happy and about my freedom you probably won't lock me up like a freaking prisoner right? So anyway, I'm fine with our set up like this." I said and smiled absentmindedly. He didn't say anything but I could still feel his gaze on me.

"O he, be careful on the trip hijo, hija and I hope you can come back here." Manang Rosa said with a smile. Now we're back in Manila and we're going to get in the car and Axel will drive because he just sent his car here.

"Yes, we will try to come back here when we have time." I said and got into the car. I waved my hand and Axel started the car.

We're going home today to his house and it's still a gift from mama Zy and papa Ty. They said that would be our house and that it was a gift from them for our wedding.

Our flight from Tagaytay back to Manila took one hour. The beach resort of the Carter family is on the ridge.

When we got to the house, Axel immediately parked the car in the garage.

"I need to go to my company to fix the problem there. Go inside and take a rest." said the person next to me. Hehe, somehow this man cares about me. I nodded my head and was about to go down when I thought of something mischievous. Hehe, he won't kill me if I do that, right?

"What are you waiting" he was cut off when I suddenly kissed him on the cheek. "Take care husband." I said with a smile and quickly entered the house. It's hard and I might get killed.

I went upstairs to find my room. Duh? Why are we only in the same room, right? Even though we are married, for me it is still not right for us to sleep next to each other because first of all we don't love each other and also we were forced to get married.

Axel's Pov

I'm here in my company, in the conference room to be exact and we're discussing about the problem but my mind is on that girl.

I don't know what to feel when she kisses me on my cheeks. I feel like my heart beats fast. This is not my first time feeling this because I had a girlfriend before but we broke up due to some reason.

"Sir, are you listening?" I was brought back to reality when Mr. Chua spoke in front where he was reporting in front. He's reporting about the sales for this month.

"Yes. Just continue." I coldly said.

"Okay. As I was saying, our sales have decreased a bit for this month because we have some products that were not delivered on time." I frowned at what he said.

"And why is that? I'll think the delivering is doing good?"

"Uhm, about that, sir, some of our products are broken and we don't know how it's happening because we're making sure that our products are ok." Broken? And they don't know the reason? That's that means that there are traitors in my company?

"I'll be the one to handle that matter but make sure that you don't make the same mistake again."

"Yes sir."

"Proceed." Ms. Reyes from the finance department stood up. He is the head of the finance dept. Same with Mr. Chua who is the head of product handling.

"Sir, I'm sorry to say this but according to my report, the company's 5 billion pesos is missing and we have no lead as to who took it." My fist clenched because of what he said. Hell! I have been in this field for a long time but this is my first time that my company was robbed.

How is that even possible?!

"When? When did you find out that the company was missing that much money?" I said coldly but you can hear the anger in my voice.

"L-last week, sir." Damn! I hit the table hard which startled everyone here.

"And you didn't bother to tell me earlier than this? Ms. Reyes I entrusted you with that job thinking that you can handle that better but you just prove to me that you can't and for that your.fired." I said firmly. He looked at me with tears in his eyes but the hell I care. "Meeting adjourned. Go back to your work." I said and left the conference room and went straight to my office.

I need to fresh my mind but maybe my anger will be directed at all my employees.

I need to find the culprit because the destruction of other products and the loss of a large amount of money is definitely my sole responsibility.

Be ready fuckers and once I find you, you will taste my wrath
