"I'm going to make a bucket list." Stephanie suddenly announce in the midst of boredom.
"I'm going to travel around the world." I reply.
"I'm going to rob a bank."
"I'm going to rob a bank and then travel around the world."
"Oh, that's smart. We'll need all the money to travel.' Stephanie point out. I smile cockily.
"Yup. Well that's why I'm the smart one," I point out.
She glares at me then relax her face, "You're right." I chuckle.
"It's so boring!" I drag out the o in so.
"Tell me about it."
We've been laying on my bed for the past ten minutes because there's nothing fun to do. Saturdays are supposed to be fun.
Suddenly I hear a few loud voices coming from downstairs, interrupting my thoughts. Stephanie and I immediately look at each other in suspicious then we get up from my bed and head downstairs.
We stop once we reach downstairs when Aiden and Skye and their friends all walk out of the living room. "Dude, I'm telling you that girl was all over me." One of the guys told the rest of them.
They all stop when they see us. There was a second of awkward eye contact before it got quiet. "Where you guys going?" I ask, being the nosy sister that I am.
"The beach-" my eyes light up instantly, "-and no, you're not coming." Skye tell me. I sneer at them.
"Why not?"
"Because it's a get together for seniors only and last time I checked, you're still a junior." Aiden answer. This is why I hate my brothers. One twin talk and the other supports.
"Whatever." I roll my eyes and head back upstairs, Stephanie following behind.
I hear the guys making their way out of the house and once they're gone, I turn back to Stephanie and give her a knowing look.
"Oh, baddie." She smiles mischievously. "We should invite Taylor too."
"Do you think she's busy?" I ask. Stephanie shrug and take out her phone, "Let's find out."
-
"You girls have fun now and don't cause any trouble." Stephanie's mom say goodbye to us and drive off. We smile at the retreating car and wave goodbye like the good girls that we are. Ha.
"You have to cause troubles to have fun." Stephanie mutter once her mom is out of sight.
"True da," Taylor and I agree. We all walk to the entrance of the beach. Once we reach the sand, we take off our sandals and carry it in our hands.
We notice a big crowd cheering from a few feet away and give each other a confuse look. "Wonder what's going on," I say.
"They probably know that we're here so they're cheering for us." Stephanie says with a conceited smirk. Taylor and I shake our head in disagreement.
As we walk closer to see what all the fuss is about, the cheering becomes clearer. "Fight! Fight! Fight!" There's a fight going on.
"Don't you just love beach fights?" Stephanie say dreamily.
"Oh. Maybe it's a love fight. Two guys fighting for one girl." Taylor say along with Stephanie.
Except it isn't a love fight. It is a fight between Aiden and Brent. It is a fight for death.
I squeeze in between the crowd and my mouth open wide in shock at the sight of the guys. Brent have a few bruises on his face, but Aiden is worse. There is blood at the corner of Aiden's mouth and on his forehead. It was evident that a black eye was starting to show on his face.
"Oh my god." Stephanie and Taylor gasp in shock beside me. Aiden throws a punch, but Brent avoided it and quickly punch Aiden back. Both of their faces were red with anger.
"Should we do something?" Stephanie asks.
"Geez, I don't know. Can you stop them with your skinny self?" Taylor retort sarcastically, shutting Stephanie up.
I watch as Skye and Brent's friend try to stop them but is failing miserably.
"Stop!" I yell. Yeah, like that'll do anything.
Instead of stopping, Brent hit Aiden, making him fall down on the sand. Brent quickly hover over Aiden and start throwing punches at him. Aiden tried to get Brent off of him but couldn't. Suddenly Aiden throws a handful of sand at Brent's face. Now it's Brent who's down on the sand. Aiden quickly get up and is about to kick Brent when Skye grab a hold of Aiden and push him away from Brent. Brent's friend helps him up from the sand while Brent is rubbing his eyes from the sand.
"Let go of me! I want to kill him!" Aiden yell angrily at Skye.
"Stop. Aiden!" I yell at him, getting his attention. He looks at me with surprise as did Skye. The crowd died down and observe what was happening.
I walk closer to Aiden. At the corner of my eyes, I could see Brent watching my every step, but I quickly ignore him.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Aiden yell at me.
"I-" I began but is cut off when he grabs my hand and drag me away from the crowd. Skye follows behind. Once we were out of sight from the crowd, Aiden stop and let go of my hand. He turns to me with anger in his eyes.
"What the hell happened! What did Brent ever do to you?" I ask him.
"You! Okay, you happened. I told you to stay the hell away from Brent." He replies.
I let out a cold bitter laugh. "Stop making me the reason why you started a fight with Brent because I know I'm not the reason. There's something else going on between the two of you!"
"Enough!" Skye yell. We both turn to Skye.
"I'm sick of this. Just stop fighting! Or else I'll tell dad and-" he looks at me, "-you will go back to the girls’ school and-" he looks at Aiden "-dad will ground you for life." Aiden and I shut up. There was a moment of silence before I walk away from the both of them.
